I kept seeing their advertisements on IG and said let's try this. The girls wanted to take me out for my birthday and I contacted them which they were very informative and quick responding. We booked with them they have this 3 course meal for $65 that includes a complimentary drink. We get there very nice place decor inside nice they greeted us with beautiful roses very impressive. She really didn't explain the menu and how it works the couple next to us after she left said to us you know what the deal you get a complementary drink, which we didn't know she never stated out in the on the table to the table didn't nothing just at all it's a $65 meal you pick your appetizer entrée and dessert and then she went on her way when she came back. She said we wanted something to drink and we said don't just come with a complementary drink and she was confused like we wasn't supposed to know that and didn't specify. What was it so several times we had a repeated we said we want a complementary drinks but we also gonna order other drinks so then she told her what was available for the complementary drinks and we ordered on top of regular drinks of the menu but again was serving us with a attitude and like rude like we were bothering her like we wasn't supposed to know about the complementary drinks. Like are you paying for it is coming out of your pocket but besides that we had a great time at the floor. The food was good. Everybody else was very nice to us. I have been to this bar/restaurant three times, but Saturday was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant--and it was mainly because of the customer service. I am not sure what happened or what has changed, but I dealt with some of the rudest and nastiest employees I have ever encountered while dining out. The experience became so unpleasant that I no longer felt comfortable spending my money at the establishment. What made the situation even worse was that I asked for a manager at least five times, through two different employees, and was repeatedly met with excuses and attitude. Eventually, I became so frustrated that I simply left. I have never been to an establishment where, even after finally speaking with a manager, I was still met with excuses and disrespect. The situation escalated to the point where the server was confronting us while the manager stood by and watched. I found that to be extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. After being a previous customer, this experience has left a very negative impression on me. Customer service should never make a paying customer feel disrespected or unwelcome, and unfortunately, that is exactly how I felt when I left. read more

I came to 5th and Mad on a snowy Tuesday night for a holiday party. The space itself was decorated rather festive and is pretty cute. I would recommend it for a date. It was pretty sizeable as it was able to accommodate our party as well as space for other patrons who weren't there for the party. We had fries, nachos, sliders and other bar food at the party. This is a huge space with two floors. If you go when a popular game is on it will be packed. I was there for the Ohio State vs Michigan game and it was packed. Service will take a bit so pack some patience, but they were slammed vs an empty bar with minimal people. If you can, I recommend reserving a table. read more

I stumbled upon here with some friends after coming from another bar. It was very loud, but somewhat a vibe. Apparently it was R&B dinner club night where the DJ spinned R&B hits and you ate a prix fixe meal which looked good but my friends and I only ordered drinks at the bar (we had already ate). The drinks were well made. The cucumber gin drink was delicious and not too sweet. It was just too damn loud. Music was good, just wished they turned it down a a tad bit. Soo disappointed. My co-worker made reservations for us and they had a table for us upstairs. When we sat down, a server came to our table and dropped off water. However, she seemed annoyed and practically tossed the cups at us. Hoping it was just an oversight, but this went on the rest of the night. The other server tried, but she kept forgetting our drinks and we had to flag them multiple times after waiting for a very long time. The first girl literally looked at us and acted like she didn't see us. We considered getting food, but after how hard it was just to get a drink, we opted out. I will say, they may have been short -staffed, but ignoring customers when they politely call for you and having an attitude is not the way to go. Simple communication about the situation is usually enough to help people understand and most will be patient. We were made to feel like an inconvenience, which is a shame when our company has booked multiple events here and we even had a separate event going on downstairs. But we'll be going back just for the spinach artichoke dip. Hats off to our waitress - she was super attentive and right on point with this reco. It comes with a side of truffle pita chips, but we swapped out for basic tortilla chips. I don't mind truffle oil, but honestly, it can sometimes be quite overpowering. This way, you can properly savor the dip! We also ordered the buffalo cauliflower bites. I don't recommend it. They were just disappointing. The place is almost like an upscale sports bar. The food was disappointing; I got one of the burgers and it was way too salty. The fries were also nothing to sing home about. Fries did come with my burger but after tasting them, I'm very shocked they charge $8 for the same fries as a side order. Definitely not worth the price. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, going above and beyond to help my friend who ended up not linking what they order. The waitress took the original food item off the menu and happily got my friend something else to try, which they liked better. I may be biased because I do not enjoy this area of manhattan and find many of the spots here to be mediocre. Unfortunately, 5th & Mad is one of those. I will say there are some perks to this spot that I'll get to! This barsteraunt is beautiful and not too far from the 34th st stop. It's well decorated from the holidays, so if you are visiting the city it could be worth dropping in. The major perk is the number of TVs they have!! I wish I knew this spot when it was world cup season. They had some yule log up which added to the festive vibe. Outside of the vibe, the waitress was very nice (and so pretty). We had a group of 11 which can be overwhelming, but she handled us super well. I visited on a Wednesday and it was dead. Not another table full! This was advantageous for us as I could hear conversations down the table. I had the Smokey Mezcal Paloma which was nice but not that impressive. It isn't a sweet drink in my opinion, so keep that in mind if you have a sweet tooth. The Midtown Heat was also a popular pick. As for food, it is not worth it -- please stick to the drinks!! $20 for a slider-sized burger is not it. The fries were really good though (included with the burger). I tasted a friend's Mac & Cheese which was good but nothing special. Seriously just buy a pack of Mac & Cheese and some cream to make at home. Overall, it's fine. That's about it! read more

We stopped in here really quick, new cute spot with good music and good vibes. Loved the atmosphere in here and the owner was so nice! And tall. I hope to stop back by because this is definitely the type of spot to come on a cute date night. The owner also let us see upstairs as well. Beautiful decor and furniture there is another full bar up here with plenty of intimate space. It was empty at the time we were touring this area. I hosted a professional event here for a group of 35 lawyers. I'll start by saying the venue is absolutely gorgeous. All of the servers were very kind to myself and my guests however I was incredibly disappointed by how much I was overcharged for food and the managers refusal to remedy the issue. For $1100 I paid for 50 drink tickets and 3 platters of food. Nowhere on the marketing brochure was there any indicator that the food platters serve 3-4 ppl. Considering that each platter is $55-70 I would imagine that would be a detail worth mentioning since I stated this event was for 35 ppl. When the food came out I explained to the manager why this was an issue and she simply shrugged her shoulders and said well you can always order more food. That definitely wasn't the response I was expecting. It was further baffling because we were the only group in the venue at the time so all sales and business was generated directly from my group. As I approached the front door , 3 people entered in front of front me with no issues, when I reached the door the doorman told me that the venue was at capacity and I could not enter. It's huge and has two floors. Considering that New Years is the wildest time to be at any bar, their staff was really good and kept the place running pretty smoothly all night. However, the flavors were on point so I won't complain about the portion size. The star of the show was really the rum punch. It was super smooth with all the right notes. Kudos to the new design of the location. This used to be called Madison Square park lounge. I love the new design. Entry was smooth. We sat ourselves and the hostess gave us a choice of upstairs or downstairs. We chose upstairs. The server was good, not the best but once she got in her rhythm she was cool. The food was amazing. And the price point is perfect. My salmon was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The salad dressing was really good too. The 2nd DJ Kaos was a crowd pleaser. He is amazing. If Kaos is the DJ I'm there every week. My suggestion is you start a tab at the bar, the bartender will always serve you first . He was amazing. The drinks were great. This was a real grown and sexy vibe. You can wear what you want, no dress code. My brothers got hookah, but he said they couldn't mix flavors. But overall, this is a nice spot to party at. Came here for this singles event I got a random free ticket to. I definitely wasn't going to meet guys but figured maybe I could find a real estate broker or a connection to one since my pressing concern was getting into a new place at the time. An added bonus was getting away from the cat abusing jerks for an evening. Service was SLOW and I'm not sure how in the world you could get attention at the bar. I was hanging there for eons to get a water and ended up in conversations with guys who had also waited forever to get their drinks of choice. I do t feel like it was a real visit per se since my interactions with staff were so limited but it's definitely dark and seems a fitting venue for a singles event.
