I went to Balboa Lilys first and it was disappointing so came here to try to redeem my morning coffee experience. I was greeted right when I walked in by a very pleasant staff. They took my order quickly and had my mocha out right away. Both of the staff I interacted with were very friendly and answered all my questions. My mocha was pretty good. It looked like they had a large selection of donuts to choose from in their display case. I would definitely recommend this place because of their friendly service.

A great quick spot to grab some boba for the boardwalk or pier. They're friendly and have a big menu to chose from. Not the absolute best boba I've ever had but still hits the spot

Last donut spot to try in the area. Picked up a crumb cinnamon roll and got my friend a maple twist. Variety available was good. The prices were a little high. The tablet ordering system is kinda missing details on some of the donuts. Like what kind of twist or bar or roll. Lady was nice and let me just check out with her. I would recommend them if you are in the area.

We stopped here during our hot girl walk and it was the perfect little break on a sunny Newport day. The iced latte was a solid 8/10, the amaretto cold brew was the star at 9/10, and the strawberry banana smoothie was a 6.5/10. Overall good drinks and definitely worth a stop with friends. #livelaughlove

##3 HAM BACON SAUSAGE EGG & CHEESE BAGEL on jalapeño cheese bagel
    Jaison J.

This is a great spot for a quick bagel sandwich or a sweet treat to satisfy your cravings. I tried a bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, ham, bacon, and cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel, as well as a custom bagel with egg, cheese, tomato, and onion on the same bagel. Both were delicious and super filling. The hot coffee was the perfect boost to keep me energized for the day. After my meal, I ended up going back in to try a doughnut, and I have no regrets. The doughnut was soft and fluffy, not cakey--definitely hit the spot! I'll definitely be back. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and there's outdoor seating nearby to enjoy your meal.

    Avocado Bagel

Ordered avocado on a toasted bagel & got this. They should say avocado is not available if they only have rotten slices like this left.. it was slimey in texture and smelled rancid. Can't believe they actually gave this to a paying customer.

They have me donut holes on the house 10/10 will be a returning customer thank you again!

I will overlook the almost $9/ea price for the Paleo cookie bc it's so delish...but why aren't the cookies in stock?? I came on the weekend morning and they had literally 2 s'mores cookies in their sad, empty baked goods case. They said, we get fresh baked cookies on Mondays and Thursday. I came back on Monday. Again, almost empty bakery case and no paleo cookies. Then I'm told they are out of an ingredient for the paleo cookies. They have no idea when they will have the ingredients or the cookies again. They call themselves the "Cookie Lab", but they have only a half-dozen cookies TOTAL for sale on any given morning. Booooooo! If you want to be a cookie dealer, get some cookie stock.

Parking can be a little tricky depending on the day because of street sweeping, so keep that in mind. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. It can get pretty busy inside since it's counter-service and the dining area is on the smaller side. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the service was friendly with smiles all around. There were three of us in our party--my mother, my grandson, and me. My mother ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, I had the California breakfast burrito, and my grandson ordered the Rose Benedict with the hollandaise sauce on the side. The portions were fair and satisfying, leaving everyone happy with their meal. If you're in the Corona del Mar area and looking for a quick breakfast, brunch, or snack, I definitely recommend giving Rose Café & Bakery a try. It's a charming neighborhood café with great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

My sandwich was decently hefty which i appreciate and VERY filling. The ONLY reason I give this 4 stars is because it is a NIGHTMARE trying to park and/or eat here on weekends. Long wait and it's a pain to try and order inside because it's packed to the brim. If you want to order take out though i think that's a slightly better option during busy hours since there's a kiosk outside that you can order from.

One thing that confused me at first is that the actual entrance faces the street, so if you park in the back lot, you'll need to walk around to the front. You order first and get a number, then find your own table. Almost all the seats were taken when we visited, but we got lucky and a table opened up right as we finished ordering. The staff was kind and quickly cleaned it for us, and our food came out a little over 10 minutes later. We ordered the JH Breakfast Burrito and Skirt Steak. The burrito was solid and packed with filling, and I especially liked the sauces that came with it. The Skirt Steak was pretty good too, although it wasn't particularly memorable for me. The fries were a highlight though. They were perfectly salted and crispy. Overall, I enjoyed our experience and everything we had was good. It does seem like this place can get pretty packed, and while I'd happily come back with a reasonable wait, I'm not sure the food stood out enough for me to wait a long time during busier hours.
