    Oreo crouch it

We love a local doughnut stop after a nice stroll on the beach! Always welcoming and the coughnuts have some nice depth to them and flavor that pops at you. Smoothies are nice and thick and we would love to come back! The old fashion doughnut was not our favorite as it had a cinnamon hue to it! But it's ok for the price you get a lot to try and not break the bank. I personally am not a huge doughnut fan if they are too airy, so these ones are a good size and thicker. I would want to try the bagel sandwiches

Couple old fashioned and a white cake peanut. Yum

Was feeling donuts and saw this spot i havent tried yet. Went in and saw a good variety of options. Old fashioned are my favorite. Got a chocolate and a maple. They also had a white cake with peanut. They threw in a few free glazed donut holes. The workers were nice. The prices were good. And the donuts were really good. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you got a craving for donuts

Small, hole-in-the-wall place serving up a wide variety of tasty donuts and breakfast treats :) The people working there greeted my dad and I warmly and they even threw in an extra donut on the house! I tried the oreo donut and my dad had the maple one and both were so good. Definitely decadent, but the quality of the donuts was great. You can tell they're made in house. If I lived in the area I'd be at this place every week!

Always a quality donut whenever I come in this place. Nothing like some sweet treats after a jump in the beautiful Pacific Ocean! I've never had donut that didn't taste delicious and fresh in this place. The owners are super friendly and always really kind. I usually get the maple bar but I had one look at the Cronut and jumped right in. They can warm it up for you if you, I actually recommend NOT warming it up. It's more put together cold lol and don't forget the maple bar next time.

Not Just Donuts You can get a great latte here and a really good sandwich at this place. Don't count this place out when looking for a good coffee/latte! Perfect for getting a latte and watching the sunset!

Best place to get Doughnuts in New Port
    Christopher W.

One of THEE best places to get a Doughnut while you're in Newport. It's literally across from New Port Beach itself. They're open 24/7 so craving something late at night they're open just drop on in get a Doughnut AND a drink. I ordered (2) of their Fritter Hot out of the Oven and it was AMAZING. I was on vacation attending Vidcon 2024 and this was My FIRST stop and even Brought some back with my To Alaska as they were too good too pass up. Amazing place and they have Apple Pay and Google Pay also.

Made a quick stop for coffee and donuts before heading to the Newport pier. The coffee was good....kids got donuts and an apple turnover which was gigantic and smelled of hydrogenated fat not butter . Nothing fancy in terms of flavor.

Cronut, donut holes and taro smoothie made with almond milk - yum!

The owner was SO sweet -- genuinely one of the nicest people ever. She had the warmest energy and made us feel so welcome, even though we were clearly in goofy late-night mode. The worker there was just as kind and patient. They were both super generous and didn't rush us at all. You can tell they really care about their customers and take pride in what they do. The food was amazing. The ham and cheese was warm, creamy, and perfectly balanced, exactly what we needed. And the old fashioned donuts were so good; crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not overly sweet. Everything tasted fresh. The ambiance was so cute and nice, made me feel like home with the lighting and cleanliness. Honestly, the service is what makes this place special. The kindness alone would make me come back, but the donuts being that good just seals it. If you want great donuts and even better people, this is the spot.

I wish I had this near me :,) but then again, it might be serious trouble for me if I did lol…read more I've felt disappointed by a vast majority of donuts in recent years. Too greasy, weird aftertastes, terrible terrible heartburn and upset stomach after... And with these, I didn't experience any of that(a little burpy after, but I mean, it's donuts... LOL) We only tried 3 different donuts, but they were all so bomb. The churro donut was my favorite. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just like a real churro, but didn't get soggy. The Nutella Malasada was full of Nutella and it was actually my first time trying a malasada... bomb! The cookies and creme mochi was a nice surprise too. The cream was actually very flavorful and not just like a plain creme with Oreos thrown in like I've often seen. I'm sure all of the donuts would be really good here. I will definitely make a trek here again one of these days.

They had hundreds of donuts sitting out, no labels, we had to ask what everything was. Ended up buying four for $13, not bad. Came home and took a bite of each one. None of the donuts tasted fresh, I am sure they were made hours before we bought them. Churro was super hard and stale, salted caramel literally tasted like nothing, blueberry tasted like sweet artificial fruit, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was the best one. If I lived nearby, I might get that one again, but this is not a place to go out of the way and try.

The shop has been a Balboa Island staple since 1960, when it was opened by Joe "Dad" Anderson. According to local lore, a group known as the "Dew Dads" began a tradition in the 1960s of gathering early for coffee and donuts, and that tradition continues today. Some regulars even have their own hooks on the wall for their coffee mugs. The hippo sugar cookies change with the holidays. I visited around Easter, and they had Easter colors. We got a glazed donut for my son, and he loved it. I got a hippo cookie to share; it was a standard sugar cookie, but the little, colorful hippo was adorable. It's a great treat for kids of all ages. We also got a frozen banana covered in chocolate with sprinkles. My son didn't care for it, but I really enjoyed it. I appreciate that Dad's Donuts opens early, allowing visitors to sample their goodies. It felt like a classic mom-and-pop shop, and I could tell many are regulars, as the staff was on a first-name basis with some patrons. Dad's Donuts is definitely a gem on Balboa Island, and their delicious treats and charming, family-friendly atmosphere make it a must-visit.

Shoutout to Gary and the Duck Donuts team!…read more I usually order Duck Donuts for team meetings on EZ Cater, maybe 3 dozen max at a time with 1-2 coffee buckets. I recently had a very large order and did 45 dozen (540 pieces!!) directly with the store. Gary was very quick to respond and helpful with the flavor reccs/modifications. We did: glazed, french toast, chocolate with chocolate sprinkles, chocolate covered strawberry, strawberry w rainbow sprinkles, and vanilla chocolate swirl. When I searched on Google for ice cream near me- chocolate shoppe ice cream popped up then upon looking further I realized it was sold within duck donuts. Still ventured to try it Two guys working, one said he was new, and didn't know where all the flavors were / allowed us to try some b4 we ordered but was a pain bc the flavors were spread between two freezers in front of store and whatever was in the back. Placed an order for 3 double scoop cups (all they had) and took a really long time to make them having to figure out where the flavors were between the front and back of store. Then. They didn't have lids to cover them or a bag to put them in - so we literally covered each cup with another cup and put in a box I had from Costco in my trunk to get them home without dripping everywhere in my car. And I say dripping everywhere bc by the time he finished the last cup/. The others were melted from taking so long. They should probably just stick to donuts if they can't fully support the ice cream products. If I knew now/ I wouldn't have chosen to try there for ice cream. Very unfortunate, bc we probably would have loved the ice cream - but the experience clearly trumped the product.
