The food here is excellent and tasty, beyond expectations. I have been here twice, and both times, literally are fantastic. There is literally no wait time to have a seat. The service is spot on. I don't even need to ask for a refill. Always are polite and great from the waitresses, chef, and manager. The ambiance here is always pleasant and clean. The lights make it festive on all holiday occasions. Some of the best, most highly recommended riggies in CNY. Honestly, I think that I've only had chicken riggies once and didn't like them, but this place makes 'em real good. I get the medium riggies and they balance spice and other savory flavors well. I would definitely stop for the riggies. As for the other stuff, I have no idea. read more

I grew up in the area and moved away after graduation, but during my time here I had never actually eaten at this restaurant/bar. On one of my visits back I was at a friend's place in Rome and they had some wings that they said I should try and they happened to be the everything wings from Route 69 Steakhouse. I was addicted from then on. I had to try some fresh wings and soon found myself at the bar mowing down a few orders of the aforementioned delights. Since that day I've had the riggies as well (very good), but chicken wings will always have a special place in my heart (blocking my arteries) so that's what I always get whenever I'm back in town. read more

Stopped here with a friend and we were amazed by the food and service! I had the sirloin and it was seasoned perfectly and my friend got the fish fry which was perfectly done and after seeing hers I ordered one to go for my husband who also raved by how crisp it was. Service was great--it was fairly busy but we were seated right away and our food was served fast and hot. The owner, I think her name was Jade, came out to see how we were doing and also recommended one of their yummy desserts---as full as we were we both ordered the cheesecake and they well complimented the wonderful dinners we had. VisitEd the 69 Steakhouse for the first time last night (10/14/22). My mother and I each ordered the Fish Fry on Friday night special. It was a horrible meal; very fishy tasting (indicating old fish), the batter was greasy and without flavor, the tarter sauce and cocktail sauces presented were very unusual and not complimentary to the meal. Overall, a very disappointing meal. The service and cleanliness of the restaurant was excellent.....just a bad night for the fish fry. read more

This place usually has the best Alfredo, not tonite! I asked for a Little extra sauce with it, the pasta came out looking like it does when you go home and try to heat it up the next day! I took my family here around the holiday time. The restaurant doesn't look like much, but I was told the place usually has a lot of customers. Going off that, I figured they would have really good food. We went in as a party of four. The place was pretty empty, which was to be expected for the time of the year. We bought a sampler, which was ok. The chicken strips and ravioli seemed a little dry from being left in the fryer a bit too long. The soda, which only two of us got, was RC Cola, which I didn't even know existed anymore. I don't drink soda so I don't care. Their special was the ribeye and shrimp scampi which two of us got, we also got the scallops and a strip steak. My ribeye was great, medium-rare and no complaints. Seasoned well. The shrimp scampi was actually four large shrimp cocktail. They weren't scampi in any way, just warm shrimp and they overcooked which made them tough. The mixed veggies were fine. My mashed potatoes were completely brown because they had sat in a warmer and had been overcooked for the past day or so. The second dinner was the ribeye as well. Same thing, great ribeye, poor shrimp. They also got the mixed veg which was good and a baked potato. The third dinner was a steak which was good, steak fries and mixed veggies. No complaints and it all looked fine. The fourth member of our party got the scallop dinner. The scallops came with something that looked like apple sauce on it. They tried it and refused to eat it. I took a scoop and smelt the sauce on top and decided to not try it as well. They also got rice pilaf that looks like it came out of a rice-a-roni box and they forgot the seasoning. They also stated the rice was overcooked, which it appeared to be. With the lack of any flavoring, just watery rice, they didn't eat that either. I think with a better eye for quality across the board, they could be a lot better and be on par with some other restaurants. read more

I'm hoping that the "dine in" experience is better. I always give a second chance, so this review will update if my next visit is better! Ordered two fish frys, two kids steak (medium) meals and a broiled scallop dinner. Fish was cold, batter was overly greasy, fries were soggy. Sauce for the scallops needs to be cooked longer to get the pungent taste of wine out of it. Kids steaks were well done. All meals were not even warm. Was told to get meal in 25 min., waited over 40 min - so figured it would be super hot and fresh. I was wrong. I live 1.5 miles from the restaurant so can't blame the travel on the temperature of the meal. So disappointed !! read more

Traveling through town and made reservations which was hysterical as there were only a few people in the restaurant side (half is all bar). It's a family style restaurant and looks as such but... The food was DELICIOUS!! We had prime rib and filet mignon, the latter was well done which doesn't always turn out well but it did!! The meat was tender - melt in your mouth and the vegetables were fresh, light and yummy. I would highly recommend it! read more

Excellent meal every time I come here. If you would like a suggestion try the chicken on greens. The chicken was covered in mozzarella with roasted red peppers resting on top on mild greens. The last couple of times we have come have been a nightmare. Wait to be seated despite empty tables due to shortage of staff. Staff are overworked and far from pleasant Great they are advertising on T V but need to have staff to handle more than a few people. I really use to like this place as it's local. They use to have great service and great food, and they have a screened in spot where you can eat outside in the summer. Unfortunately, it has gone down hill. The waitresses are always miserable, the food is not worth your money. The only good thing I can say is that they do have good chicken riggies. The real Knuckleheads is in nearby Westmoreland, NY The Rte 69 Saloon and Steak House is well...an absolute ass kicker of a place. The wait staff is on top of things and the daily specials are killer. try the "everything wings" these may be the best wings in CNY. Had dinner with my girlfriend and her daughters on Tuesday night. Don't even bother asking for substitutions. It was all you can eat spaghetti with tomato sauce for $2.99, but we requested getting it with Alfredo Sauce, for a little extra. They said that they wouldn't make the change, even though we offered to pay an additional amount. I mean, their Alfredo special was $12.99 with no meat added. Why not a simple substitution? Also, no free refills on Iced Tea. Really?? Who does that? The waitress seemed moody and in too much of a hurry, though the place wasn't really that busy. My girlfriend's French Onion soup was room temperature when she got it. When returned after heating it, it was obvious that it had been popped in the microwave. Entrees were fair, but between the poor service, strict adherence to no substitutions and no refills, I won't waste my time with another visit. Other tables got bread with their dinners and we were not offered any. The manager/owner did not apologize for the terrible salty steak meal but did offer another entree which was average. I visited this restaurant because of a recommendation from one of their regular customers. I truly believe this place deserves a better rating than it's currently getting. On my first visit I had the Chicken Riggi and on my second visit I had their Ribeye steak, both were excellent. I also enjoyed the salad with their home made Italian dressing and the fresh Italian bread. I really liked the mashed red potatoes I had with the Ribeye. Both bartender's that served me we're friendly and efficient and the owner was genuinely interested in my dining experience. I wish I would have known about this place sooner. read more

Me and my husband went here for the first time. He ordered a strip steak and I ordered a rib eye steak and shrimp scampi. The waitress was very nice. However, he received a steak that was mostly grizzle. It was hard to cut and difficult to chew. It was ordered med rare and was cooked to perfection, but the steak was just a terrible cut of meat. When we addressed the issue the waitress talked with the manager. The manager never came out to assess the situation, but told the waitress to tell us that with it being busy the cook's couldn't remember if there was a problem with any of the steaks. If she had actually come out to see us she would've seen that the remaining steak was inedible because of the grizzle in the steak. The only thing the waitress said about it was that she was sorry that he didn't like it. They didn't offer another steak or any restitution whatsoever. I understand that people do take advantage, but the manager never even tried to assess the situation or look at the meat that my husband wasn't even able to finish. My steak was a good cut of meat but mostly just seasoned with a lot of salt and came out luke warm. I offered no complaints on my dinner. With how terrible the quality of the steak was and the lack of attention to putting out an edible product I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS RESTAURANT IS ADVERTISED AS A STEAKHOUSE. read more
