This company is a joke when it comes to customer service. While the drivers were great and do a wonderful job, their leadership takes ZERO responsibility when you have an actual issue. Not only can they NOT accurately tell you how much space or trucks you will need, once they deliver your items, if there are damages they take NO responsibility to work to fix or reimburse you for them. After misplacing some of our furniture, and then having to deliver it on a different date, they act like it was out fault they lost our stuff. Then when it comes damaged, including shattered TVS, etc. they say they can no longer help you and you just have to go to the BBB. This company is a perfect example of top leadership taking zero responsibility for their company. Literally called today to get any update on my damages and was told that no one at leadership could talk to me? Seems like the exact opposite of how a leader should run a company. As a first time home buyer, I had plenty on my plate. Thank goodness for Big League Movers! I was lucky enough that Living Social ran a deal for 2 hours of moving services for $99, so I quickly snatched up the deal and scheduled them to help me move! I had to move on a specific weekend and they had Sunday morning available. If you have a specific day you need to move, make sure you call sooner rather than later! There was an additional $40 gas/service fee, and they were about 30 minutes early the morning of the move. The guys were super nice and efficient and moved all of my furniture within 2 hours. Perfect! At the end of the services you speak with their supervisor on the phone to make sure everything is good to go. Excellent chance for customer service assurance as well! Tyson (Owner) answered the phone and was one of the nicest people you could speak with, very knowledgeable in his business and totally reassuring in all aspects, the price was great and if it had been higher I still would have probably used him just due to phone convo! He and his helper TJ showed up promptly, messaged when they were on their way and did an amazing job of wrapping and loading of furniture...they agreed to go by another location to grab a few more pieces of furniture. No one likes to move, but these guys made it easy. Our company office was moving just a mile or so, but had several large desks and 19 filing cabinets. They were easy to get a quote and schedule in short notice. I experienced great customer service during the quotation and scheduling process. The day of the move, they called ahead to advise that they were short a guy, which subsequently turned out into a longer moving day(they get paid by the hour) and at that point I couldn't reschedule because I already had taken a vacation day and planned everything to move that day. The guys that showed up were nice and courteous and worked hard. My only complaint is that they left my couch laying sideways with the back on the floor and it was missing a foot. I had already signed everything and they had been gone for about 5 mins when I noticed. I tried calling both the main driver and the supervisor, left messages and no one returned my call. They didn't even follow up with a phone call the next day. read more

The good: The two movers who came to relocate me were on time, courteous and worked efficiently. The bad: My washing machine was extensively damaged in the move. As I did the post move inspection, everything looked good, however, when I tried to wash a load of clothes I discovered that during the spin cycle the washer jumped all over the room. I figured it was simply an imbalanced load and tried to correct it by moving the clothes around and when that didn't work by adjusting the feet, but after standing back and taking a good look I could see that the washer was actually leaning to one side. I placed a level on top and it was completely crooked. I called a repairman who after struggling to pull off the cover for over 15 mins had to call for assistance - that's how crooked the frame was - it wouldn't even slide right off as intended. When the cover was finally removed they told me that the washer had either been dropped and/or was transported on its side and took some heavy bumps during transport because the tub was completely off the support frame on one side which could have only come from a hard impact of some sort. I did not view the items on the truck and was not outside as they were loading them, so I cannot verify if the machine was transported on its side, however it had worked perfectly before the move. Because I had washed all of my laundry pre-move, I did not discover the issue with the machine until about 2 weeks later when I needed to wash again. I ended up paying over $300 to get the washer repaired. I understand that things can happen, particularly with heavier items, but it would have been nice if they had disclosed that the machine was dropped or fell over. Aside from the washer issue, there were some scuffs on the back of my leather couch where it was either scraped against a wall or more likely the sidewalk as there is a small tear in the (real) leather. Another couch had some black scuffs on the upholstery which I'm guessing may have come from inside the truck. Issues with the couches aside, I cannot in good conscience recommend 6th Man due to not being informed of what was a clear mishandling of my washer. read more

Used 6th man for an across-town move. Customer service was very good prior to the move, they were responsive, gave a detailed quote, and were easy to work with on scheduling. The two man team showed up on time on moving day and were very friendly. They did a good job wrapping everything and protecting larger items so they didn't get damaged, so no complaints there, but there was no sense of urgency at all, they moved pretty slowly all day. I also had a few larger fragile items that I was hoping to have them move, but every time I asked they came up with an excuse why they couldn't, which was annoying. After the move was done, I reviewed the invoice and noticed that there was a $48 charge for moving supplies that were sold to me, so I called to ask what the supplies were. The person I spoke with couldn't explain the charge, but said he'd look into it and call me back, but never got a call back or any resolution. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but I'll probably be looking elsewhere next time I move. read more

I found a reference to 6th Man Movers on Nextdoor. I needed furniture from my mother's house moved to a nearby storage unit, with a china cabinet then being taken to Habitat Restore. While the men were on site, my husband decided to have a freezer and a sofa taken to our house - total of 3 stops - which did not rattle the guys at all. They were polite and professional, on time. They were meticulous yet quick and efficient in their wrapping, loading and unloading. RUN!!! PICK ANY OTHER MOVER!! I have moved all over the country and this by far was the worst experience I have ever had. They over charged me because they refused to send out enough men ( it took 13 hours for a local move because they charge by the hour and decided to send only two men $$$). They ran out of room on the truck and started packing my car without my permission. These people are NOT professionals and do not care how your furniture arrives. They broke a 70 inch tv, damaged two lamps, smashed a box of china, scratched my master bed headboard in seven places ( ruined it), broke the leg off two end tables and broke the leg off a leather chair and scratched the leather across the top and side. And that's just what I've found so far! read more

First time hiring movers and let me tell you, BEST decision I ever made. James and Kieron absolutely CRUSHED it. We had a 28' trailer to unload, and they knocked it out in two hours. They put down mats and blankets, and were very careful and respectful of our home and our things. Everything went where it need to go and now I can actually relax for a bit before unpacking. Davey and Tremaine showed up early and worked hard until the job was done. It took a little longer than we were originally quoted, but that was an issue on the quoting side not the crew. They hustled and got our apartment moved as quick as possible. They took care to wrap our furniture and load all the boxes efficiently and safely. All of our items arrived intact and in the condition they left in. Next time I move, I would use 6th Man and would love to work with Davey and Tremaine again. I have to say that while response was very slow and I had to proactively pursue repair, restoration and refund (finding some replacement items myself), the owner has addressed the damage. I greatly appreciate having my house and furniture repaired. The owner even agreed to have a restoration team come out again to address damage I didn't point out on the first restoration visit. The owner did refund me some of my payment which is greatly appreciated. I hope that the owner has increased his screening and training on procedures for moves, customer service and anger management. I had 2 guys and not only were they extremely efficient and professional - they were also really easy to talk to and took the biggest metaphorical headache I had away. We booked with 6th Man Movers because they were recommended by the retirement facility we were moving my dad to, but I will never recommend them to any one else. I was assured that they were very "familiar" with the facility, but once we got there, they had no idea what they were doing and took extra time to figure it out on our clock. there were two guys that facilitated the move. One was very nice and professional, the other guy however never talked and most of the time had ear buds in his ears and wouldn't answer you if you talked to him. There were a few minor items that were damaged during the move. Ultimately, the amount we were charged included tape and other items we were not told we would have to pay for as well. 3 days later I notice unauthorized charges on my bank account. When I phoned them, they informed me that they had issues with the card that was provided for payment and so they tried charging another card that was provided for deposit without authorization. Just seems as though they lack organization and how to function well as a company. read more

These guys did an incredible job moving me a few weeks ago! I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor, to a 2 bedroom apartment across town on the second floor. I have a LOT of stuff! They sent 3 guys, who did an amazing job. They wrapped everything and took really good care of it all, as if it was their own! They didn't slow at all and really moved to get it all done in 5 hours. This is a tough review to write. Parts of my experience were great, and others were terrible. Here is the breakdown: The good: - Scheduling the move was easy, and Jacob gave very helpful advice. - Rates are good compared to other companies. - The movers were very courteous. - The crew worked very hard the entire time. - The moving trailer was very carefully packed. These guys are good at Tetris! The bad: - There are some issues with billing. Some moving companies have customers sign to confirm the stop and start times of the move. 6th Man did not, and this led to me being billed for an inaccurate start time. - The start time was supposed to be after an initial walk-through, but it was not. - The crew arrived slightly after the scheduled time, and it wasn't the entire crew at first. The third crew member arrived about 20 minutes after the rest of the crew. The billing reflected the entire crew working for the entire time. - My wardrobe was still attached to a wall, and the movers, instead of letting me know this, ripped it out of the wall, mounting brackets and all. The result was two huge holes in my wall, a nearly destroyed piece of furniture, and NO notification that anything had even happened. I didn't realize anything had happened until I found the mounting hardware for the wardrobe, which was angrily wrapped in over an inch of shrink wrap and thrown in the trailer. read more

I moved out of a 2 bedroom duplex on Sunday, and Justin & Charlie made the transition super fun and smooth (as fun as moving can be!) Booking was easy; the rates were clear, and the email follow up was prompt. There was a 5% discount for moving on Sunday versus Saturday. The guys were early for our appointed time, conscientious to our needs and really lovely to work with. We had 2 stops within a 5 mile radius and were finished within 3.5 hours. This was the best move I have ever had! I was moving from one home I was renting into a house I had purchased across town. We had a team of two and the entire move was flawless. They showed up on time to my house, and took almost to the minute the amount of time they had predicted for me in my original quote. They even made a stop at my boyfriends house to pick up a few items. Upon first meeting them, I could immediately tell that they were professional and trusted them from the start. I have used these guys twice. The first time was by coincidence, as we were moving soon and my wife found a Groupon for their services (back in 2010, when Groupon was actually good). They were awesome then and they were the only call I made when we moved again last year. On our second move, I requested three guys to see if it makes much difference. I highly suggest three guys vs two, it is worth the price difference for sure. They loaded up our two bedroom apartment in Brentwood, drove their truck to our four bedroom house on the north side of Mt. Juliet (not a short drive) and unloaded, all in a total of about three hours. As a side note, they apparently changed their name from Big League Movers to Sixth Man Movers. Either way, I highly recommend using them the next time you move, it definitely eases some of the stress of moving. read more

Davey P and crew did a great job of making sure nothing was broken on mine. They showed up in the time frame they said they would be and they were very friendly. Honestly, with moving, that's the majority of the battle. I did feel that perhaps they could have been a bit quicker/more efficient but it was hot and I wasn't doing it so it is easy for me to say that. They weren't getting through fast enough so 6th Man added a third person at no extra charge. So it took longer than expected but everything arrived and I didn't take it. They were extremely gracious when my apt leasing office had messed up my elevator reservation. The best part was how upbeat they were. Unloaded quickly as well and made sure things were as I wanted them. This was a long distance move and the 2nd time I used 6th Man. Since it seems people only post when they have a bad experience, I wanted to post since I had a great experience (TWICE) with Big League Movers. I've moved twice in the last two years and both times used BLM. I found them friendly and professional on the phone, and willing to work with me on my dates/times (I had to switch that a few times due to changes in our house closing date), and they were always easy to reach. On the day of the move, they called me to let me know they were on their way and they were right on time. I showed them where everything was and they got to work. The hard part about our move was we had to drop some stuff off and pick some stuff up at another location to move to the final destination. The guys didn't bat an eye - and we had a TON of stuff at our first place and the second place. They moved everything efficiently and carefully and nothing was scratched or ruined or out of place. It was also a rainy/muddy day and they managed to keep our carpet clean - which is insane! The two guys who came out (Jacob & Ryan) were super nice to our two year old and even let him pretend to "help." I would highly recommend Big League Movers to anyone who needs to do a move - big or small. Don't let a few bad reviews scare you away - I've used these guys twice and both times were excellent. read more
