It looked like blood all over them but he said it was actually for gripping money (and bottles) without the normal slippery-ness of regular mittens. When I questioned it, the cashier told me the money had already been put in the safe and asked me to come back at 10 PM (about three hours later). He also stated it was a "new drawer," even though I had been in the store the entire time and no new cash transactions had occurred at that register. Since the transaction had just occurred and the receipt clearly showed a void with change due, I requested that the drawer be reconciled immediately I wasn't leaving and that a manager be contacted. After the manager reviewed the receipt over phone, I was given my money back. I strongly recommend customers carefully review their receipts during large cash transactions and request immediate reconciliation if anything appears voided or incorrect. I then said instead of shrugging it off just apologize, and he said "apologize" with a smile on his face at which point I walked out before I lost my anger.
