I struggled with deciding to rate this at a 4 or a 3 so I think I'm going to go with a 4 but consider this a 3.5. To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

Have been a customer at this location for several years. Haven't been a quite a while lately, but visited recently and the staff remember me, my partner and our orders! Definitely the BEST coffee spot in Pleasant Hill! Check them out when you need your next coffee fix. PSA: Shoutout to Fern and Rain B for being super amazing!

First time here and it was great. It's awesome that the entire menu is vegan! The donut was so good that I ate it before thinking about taking a pic. I live in SoCal and I wish we had a place like this back at home.

Stopped by for coffee near the location I was in, and I am very satisfied that they offer gluten free options for pastries and food items. Today I got a gluten free pumpkin pastry and a seasonal drink (hot Ube coconut latte). For both items I spend about $12. The place is small and cozy, there is seating area right outside, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend to try this coffee shop if you are in the area!

Very cute neighborhood coffee shop. Coffee and matcha were good. The outdoor space is big but the inside is small. Not really enough space inside to hang out. Small parking lot but got lucky with parking in the front. Will be visiting again when the weather is nice and if I feel like having my drinks outdoors.

the iced maple matcha w oatmilk was so good! definitely my favorite matcha in the area- the matcha flavor is strong and the matcha powder is good quality. this cute coffee shop is conveniently located in pleasant hill, with a large menu and lots of seasonal drinks too. there is a large outdoor seating area with benches, which was the only thing i was disappointed about as there is no indoor seating, and i wanted to go there and do work but no biggie.

New fave spot during the week there's nothing I love more than amazing sourdough and peanut butter and this toast was just amazing. On top of that their teas are so delicious as well. I love how chill and relaxing it is and how great the service was every time I come by, it's always a great experience

Such a vibe. This shop is nestled in a neighborhood that makes it awesome for those around. The coffee is very good and they also have a solid kitchen. Wanting to take a walk and make this your pit stop, I suggest you do! Everyone working is in great spirits and there to help you.

We came here for breakfast and coffee and it was great. Awesome coffee, avocado toast, and waffles. The if your looking for a very natural / granola feel coffee breakfast spot than give this place a try.

I've been to Zio Fraedos many moons ago and I'm glad that I rediscovered this gem while I was in the area. Let's begin with the service -- Servizio impeccabile! My hubby ordered the chicken fried steak. Let's just say that we enjoyed every bite! I don't know what it is, but even the sourdough toast was good! The location -- You can dine indoors or outdoors. The visuals outdoors makes you feel like you're in a different country. From the sculptures, mini water fountain to all the foliage, it's so pretty! But if you rather dine indoors and watch a game, they have flatscreens and a small bar. Highly recommended! They have a pretty good selection of dishes to try. I'm going to make it a point to come back.

Our waiter was excellent and so was the rest of the staff that interacted with us.

The hygiene alone should be enough to make anyone turn around and walk out. The employee working the front repeatedly coughed into his hands, rubbed his nose, sneezed, then immediately went back to handling customers' utensils, napkins, and food-related items without washing or sanitizing his hands. It happened over and over again. It was honestly disgusting to watch. Basic food safety should never be optional. Then came the bill. Three items. One tiny crepe, one madeleine, and one quiche. Nearly $50. I actually thought there had been a mistake. The crepe was embarrassingly small, and the chicken inside was some of the worst I've had. It was dry, stringy, chewy, and tasted incredibly cheap. There was absolutely nothing fresh or high quality about it. The portions were tiny, the quality was poor, and the prices were completely disconnected from reality. My husband was born and raised in France, and we've spent plenty of time eating at cafés and bakeries there. This isn't even remotely comparable. It's an overpriced imitation that relies on the idea of being French instead of delivering food that's actually worth eating. If you're going to charge premium prices, then deliver premium quality, proper food safety, and an experience that justifies it. This place failed on every one of those fronts. We won't be back, and I genuinely can't understand why this place has the reputation it does.

I felt like the prices are a bit high but that's a personal opinion. I got the frittata which tasted alright and it was $24. It was hearty, satisfying, and totally hit the spot. The only hiccup? The melted butter they used on the toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't quite explain it -- like if butter went to a weird party and came back a little off. But hey, it didn't ruin the whole meal, just a little side note.
