This was our first time at a Paris Baguette, and given that it's a 40-minute drive from home, this was a well-planned and anticipated visit. The location is easy to get to, with lots of parking behind in a lot, and it's very clean, with lots of chairs and tables; yet all were filled this Saturday evening, which is a good sign. There are too many pastries, treats, and drinks to even cover, and we spent a few minutes trying to find our choices, which you mainly pick from cabinets using a self-serve tray and tongs. For drinks and cake (whole or sliced), you order those at the counter. We decided on some pastries, some cake slices, and a drink. And S'mores was the predominant theme today. We ordered a raspberry fruit bite, 2 chocolate supreme croissants, 2 S'mores Belgian waffles, a sugar mochi donut, a coffee donut croissant, 2 slices of S'mores chocolate marshmallow cake, and a slice of rainbow cake. We also got the cream cheese puff and the crème brûlée bombolone ... quite the name! And, of course, a S'mores frappe! The server helping us at the register was polite and efficient, but there was only one register open and a long line. As such, other folks were helping gather the goodies from the cake case, and as we were taking these to go, we did not realize until we were home that the rainbow cake was not a rainbow cake, but a THIRD slice of S'mores cake. Ugh. That one was chosen by the 8-year-old, who was understandably not happy, and the additional insult of paying extra (above the cost of the S'mores) for a cake we didn't get made ME unhappy too! Paid $8.29, got a $6.99 cake slice. The pastries are generally good, with some very good and some more of a "meh." Among the best were the raspberry fruit bite and the coffee donut croissant. That coffee one was a surprise, as it had a soft liquid filling we didn't realize when buying, and the taste was very coffee, which I loved. Will get that again for sure. The S'mores chocolate supreme croissant was also popular. The crème brûlée bombolone was different, with a light pastry and a filling different from what I usually find in crème puffs, and it was tasty. The waffles were not a light and airy as we would have liked, but the flavor was good. The mochi donut was a bit dry as well, not up to true Japanese bakery standards, and the cream cheese puff was all puff and short on the cream cheese (see photos). And the S'more cake was good for flavor, very rich and S'morey, but the presentation really is lacking. Not that I normally compare one chain to another, but for example, when we get Crumbl, the product is very close to the advertising. Not so with the S'more cake, and I am not even sure all the layers were there and in the proper order or proportion; check out the photos and see what I mean. However, the flavor was spot on, and that is the ultimate goal, although the "eyes eat first," as we Yelpers know! And the highlight was not a pastry or cake, but the S'more frappe. It was layered beautifully, fresh-tasting, and very S'morey (yes, a new word I now love!). We even got a second, as we had to eat this there so it could be shared by the group, and it was calling us! Definitely hope it is available next visit, and Starbucks could take a lesson in quality versus price point. Some of the pastries here are really not worth the cost for the product (would skip the cream cheese puff, for example, and the mochi donut), but everything else was very good. Other than an error in fulfilling the order correctly and a couple a poor pastries (quality), it was a good first visit, and we all would come back when near a location. read more

I needed my coffee fix and some breakfast, found this location along the way to my Destination. Even for early morning, they had a good selection of pastries out to choose from. Grabbed a few pastries-- all were flaky and delicious. Probably even better if it were warm. I was in a time crunch so didn't ask for it. Food area was clean but the dining area was a little behind. It was busy. Tried the s'more's waffle. It was exquisite. It was delicious at room temp, cold and hot! That's how long it took me to eat it throughout the day. Raspberry almond croissant was super yummy. Pineapple brûlée pastry was tasty also. So many selections to choose from at this spot. Not a fan of the honey castella, was a little dry and lacked some flavor. I came on a Fridays morning and there were people with laptops getting work done & families sitting together. The store looks clean and very modern! Today I opted to try the s'mores latte. Consistently been VERY good since the last times I have gone. And personally I think THIA location in pleasant hill specifically is the OnLY one I will go to. My first experience not great-long time ago. But now... I kinda know what I like and what I like and what I won't really try. But I have branched out and tried a few things that have been quite pleasing and I have turned my family and friends onto them also! Sometimes businesses need time to adjust and others just don't succeed. This franchise location is doing it right. Pastry texture and flavor and options have all improved drastically. I'm so happy to see an Asian bakery in downtown Pleasant Hill, especially a Korean bakery. And yesss, we got Paris Baguette! First off, don't let the name fool you because despite its name it's actually a Korean bakery, not a French bakery. They do have a lot of French inspired pastries though, like croissants. I keep seeing people on TikTok eating those cylinder shaped Croissants filled with creamy custard or chocolate cream, so naturally I had to try one when I saw them at the store. I also knew I had to try the Salted Bread since Japanese style salted bread has been super viral all over Asia lately. We ended up getting both, and honestly they were pretty good. Let me start with the Salted Bread, the inside had that signature hollow interior with a slightly crusty exterior, so it felt pretty legit. The salty crust paired really nicely with the buttery flavor of the bread. It was good, but I don't get the hype around it. I know some people are completely obsessed with salted bread, but to me it's basically just really good bread tasting like salted butter. I like it, but it's just not enough to make me obsessed with it. Then we tried the cylinder shaped croissant that was half dipped in chocolate, and that was pretty good too. Obviously room temperature croissants just don't hit the same as warm freshly baked ones, but for room temperature ones, these were pretty solid. I also really liked the interior of the shop. Everything looked super clean, modern, and chic. All the baked goods were displayed really beautifully too. These are for To-go so it's wrapped nicely in paperbag but good thing we checked the bread first before heading out, otherwise we will be disappointed when we get home. We actually waited 20 mins from paying in line until we get the order. It was chaotic, maybe because it's 6pm and store getting more customers in line. But I hope they will be more organized next time. And maybe invest in bigger oven and be careful in reheating settings. And why continue to wrap these bread if you see it's not edible anymore? Finally made my way down to this PB opened in Pleasant Hill. Located right in the heart of the downtown Pleasant Hill area, you will find PB located next to quite a few other food places. This particular PB location is decently sized with plenty of seating on the inside, and a good selection area of breads and adjacent things. Tall ceilings and spacious inside. The inside is separated by a wall of bread on the left, there's a fridge section too of course for takeout sandwiches and such, a big island area with lots of bread and dough adjacent things, a counter at the back side of the building with cakes etc there, and then to the right a large seating area to accommodate quite a few breaders. Everything in here just feels clean and nice, so a good environment for those who wants to, bread in. The staff here were good, particularly the person they have who is consistently a bread refiller going by with trays constantly to make sure that the breads are full stocked, and avoid empty spaces, which is nice. This location certainly knows it's bread game with just this part of the service alone which is nice to see. There's plenty of bread options here, though, it's not as much as it seems because quite a few spaces are more for doughnuts specifically, so not all the spaces are used just for the usual bakery goods you will find at the other Asian bakeries. However, still a good amount of the typical types of selection to pick from so that's good. Just for comparison, just their bread section is probably still more options than what Tous Les Jours offers down the road on Contra Costa. Definitely one of the better selections of PBs you can come across. Price wise, it'll be about the same as let's say Tous Les Jours, but slightly more expensive than if you go to 85c, but their direct competition is really more Tous Les Jour anyways, so basically on par there. Let's get to some of the bread now. I got three specific breads today: a chocolate thing, a sweet potato thing, and a sausage thing. The chocolate thing was quite tasty, and had a fair amount of chocolate inside, and it was also good chocolate. The outside if eat it fresh, is nice and flaky. After taking it home a short time in the air fryer the next day make it flaky again. The garlic sausage thing was yummers. The sausage is also a bit crisper of a outside casing, so just note this if you were looking forward to a softer hot dog feel. It's definitely more of a harder texture like a hot link if anything. But it was good, no complaints. The sweet potato thing was kind of a disappointment. There really wasn't much of this inside there, even though you can sort of see some of that perhaps coloring of it in paste form in the inside, but it was negligible at best. Won't get this again probably. Definitely will be back again to try out some of the other chocolate stuff as there were plenty of other chocolate options with the breads, but also want me more of those sausage buns too. read more

Stumbled upon this place just recently! We have tried their sour dough premade breakfast sandwich & asked them to toast it for us, was decent. We also tried their ham & cheese baguette toasted which was also decent . The pastries is where it's actually at & it's what they are known for. There is an endless amount of choices to pick from. You'll more than likely find something you'll love here! I had their mocha Frappuccino blended coffee which was super rich, sweet and just delicious! If you love super sweet cold blended drinks give this one a try. Paris Baguette has an amazing selection of pastries and drinks. My all time favorite pastry is the "soft cheesecake" it is SO good!! They currently have a biscoff collaboration and in result have made some of the most tasty pastries. I tried their croissant muffin and it was good, they also had a donut and a cake. I also ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and it's probably my new favorite thing now. When you enter the store, it's a self-serve type of thing where you grab a tray and pick the pastries you want to purchase. I have been to the one in Dublin but first time at this one. By the time we got there after dinner a lot of the pastries were gone but there was still a decent selection. Was pleasantly surprised that there was quite a bit of donut and mochinut selections. The best thing about this chain are the creative and different things they offer. 1st time at Paris Baguette at an attempt to get my matcha fix before work. I also got a curry bun, not pictured. I have to say @7am place was clean, tidy with friendly staff that were stocking up the displays with freshly baked pastries all ready for grabbin'. The beef curry bun was special because it has that Asian donut like crispy putter layer with a soft dough. I wasn't as impressed with the curry filling compared to other curry buns I've had at my local coffee shop in Alameda. However, it was distant but due to the wide menu and inability to satisfy that Japanese curry flavor for me. I will not be getting again so I can try other menu items. 3/5 Matcha was not ceremonial matcha unfortunately but the lavender flavor was there and was still a really good frappe nonetheless to get me through my morning 4/5 due to missing the real matcha quality. I was extremely disappointed in this bakery that I had came to like I called three times each time the person who either is new and does not know English is answering the phone. I can't understand me and it keeps on asking me to repeat myself then passes the phone to somebody else who asked me to do the same then the manager says she'll call me back and I'm saying I just need to ask a question because I was it time being wasted in the waiting. It is extremely unacceptable as a restaurant establishment for this level of disrespect and non-commitment to their customers. At the very least, you should be telling your front line staff to not hang up in people's face after asking them a question and then not saying I don't understand. OK give me a minute. You just hang up the phone and then when I call back, you say oh yeah that was me and then she asked me to repeat the question again. which I did only to be hung up on again. I was trying to see if somebody recovered an item to the Lost and Found and Tom was of the essence and this establishment could care less. This restaurant that I USED to like I will be diligently telling all the people that I recommended to go there never to spend a diamond at this place again! Been going to this place for a couple of years and this is the first time I have been intimidated and turned off. I usually go there for pastries but this time, I decided to order a cake. I picked up the cake this morning and it was not what I expected. A slight misunderstanding. I told whoever was helping me that I asked for specifics. While talking to the person, the manager approached us and in a very hostile and defensive voice, he told me "we don't do that." A simple apology for the misunderstanding would have been enough. Instead, he started asking me which employee helped me, asked me to describe the person, and started raising his voice while the rest of his customers are just going through their orders and enjoying their breakfast. I told him it did not matter who the employee was. It happened and that is that. Instead, he continued to raise his voice, repeated more that half a dozen times that they don't do cakes like that and kept on insisting to tell him who helped me while his voice level increases up a notch. Very condescending. Super disappointing. I told him if he can scream at his customer, I would hate to see him scream and treat his employees. As I said, a simple apology was sufficient. He of course did not give that. Arrogant to the core. I did not even ask for him. He inserted himself between the employee who was already apologizing to me. He just had that attitude " if you don't like it- go." I worry how this kind of toxic behavior is tolerated. The pastries look sad this morning. A little dry. The employees were nice. Paris Baguette is a bakery chain that offers good sweet and savory pastries. They bake bread, sell grab n go food, and have a full cafe as well. The ambiance is nice, well lit and good decor in general. Our son loves the pastries here, particularly the mochi donuts and fruit tarts. We've purchased cakes here for birthday parties, they provide you with candles and a cake cutter. They aren't cheap, it most cakes running over $40. The reason for a 4 star review is the inconsistent service. For the most part the staff is nice, you get the occasional person at checkout that isn't friendly or helpful. We do love the large number of options, and often take home a box of pastries to go along with a cake slice. The appeal and niche of a Parisian bakery chain I found uber-appealing. It's been announced that they're going to be opening a store here in my home soil Vallejo, CA. But, not until 2027! I had signed up for the store app. and decided to hit up their store here in Pleasant Hill, CA for a preview. There were some mixed observations for my 1st visit, which explains my 3 star rating (think a grade of C, C+ or possibly eeking out a B-, idk?). Parking's a snap behind the store in a large lot and free for up to 3 hrs. Upon my arrival to the street facing storefront, I encountered 3 of the 4 entrance doors locked from the outside. Gadzooks! How the heck do you get inside this security zone of a store, lol? Finally entered through the 1 unlocked door after naturally trying all the others first . Once inside, it would've been nice to have been greeted/welcomed by a host or floorperson for those of us unfamiliar with the store concept or the procedure of how you serve yourself. As you walk in, there's cafeteria-like trays, tongs and tray liners to your left. You grab this setup to begin your pastry and goodies selection. Pretty much self-serve from there until you queue up to pay. There's also a self-service ordering kiosk inside and you can order ahead on the Paris Baguette app. Speaking of the app, it pays to install it on your device as doing so entitles you to a free pastry with purchase upon your 1st visit. Anywhere from a $3.99-$5.99 value this is, so nothing to sneeze at. And they send you other freebies & deals through this medium also. Pricing for your basic pastries: Think Starbuck's prices + 15-20% or thereabouts. Not sure how the rewards system works here yet or how it might stack up to the aforementioned Starbuck's program or others? The pastries: Oh so good! Definitely no complaints here. If not for them being a bit on the pricier side, as alluded to already. Warm, flaky & fresh out of the oven. Parisian style. Definite niche appeal outside of your random donut shop or Starbucks' offerings. I did not try any of their different beverage options like coffees, teas, lattes or frappes this visit. No doubt this chain will succeed, as is evidenced by their rapid store growth, "newness" of the brand/concept and customer popularity. My pastry choices were the Pain Au Chocolat and the Pain Aux Raisins. One being the free one with the promotion. 10 out of 10. They also do whole bread loaves, cakes and other confectionaries + special orders. Pretty much a full service bakery, Paris style. And if you're sugar and/or calorie cautious, this bakery will no doubt appear like a mine field, lol. Everything in moderation I guess as the saying goes? It's a winner overall. Subtractions for the Fort Knox-like entrance issues and a lack of customer intro-greeting. It looked very popular inside for an early Saturday morning. read more

I usually really enjoy visiting Paris Baguette. Their coffee is fantastic--I'm glad to see they use Lavazza, one of the best coffee beans out there. The space is always clean, and they offer a wide variety of pastries, which makes it a reliable stop for both sweet and savory cravings. One thing I especially appreciate is the addition of vegetarian savory options like the onion or mushroom pastries. For a long time, the savory items were mostly meat-based, so it's great to see that change! That said, I felt compelled to write this review because I was really disappointed with the pistachio croissant. The pastry itself was flaky and well-baked, but the filling was a letdown. It didn't taste like pistachio at all--instead, it had an artificial, almost chemical flavor. The bright green color already seemed a bit off, and unfortunately, it tasted just as unnatural as it looked. My husband gave it a try (he bought three!) and we both agreed it wasn't worth the money nearly $5 each. The only way we could salvage it was by scooping out the filling and replacing it with real pistachio cream (see attached photo for comparison). Paris Baguette, I love what you do overall, but please consider revisiting this recipe. Pistachio lovers deserve better! read more

To be fair, I didn't try any of the desserts--I only had a latte, which was just okay. So this impression is based on observing the dessert selection and the overall ambiance rather than tasting everything myself. There are a lot of desserts to choose from. In my opinion, so many that the space feels more industrial than quaint or delicate, which is what I usually associate with a traditional French bakery in Paris. Rather than feeling intimate or charming, it reminded me more of the dessert section at an all-inclusive resort. That said, the place was busy, and people clearly seemed to be enjoying themselves. And that counts for a lot. This feels like the kind of spot you'd go to if you're looking for a more American-style take on French desserts--almost like a Cheesecake Factory-style interpretation of France in dessert form. This looks like such a clean and fun place from the outside. We go by it all the time. One day, finally decided to go in and try it! The pastry items are very high in price and very small. I know that's a french patisserie kind of thing, and swanky and all that stuff, but of course, it's not nice on the budget. My husband ordered something, I don't remember what it was, but he said it was okay. I personally didn't get anything because it all looked a little too complicated for my taste. I will say there are tons of places to sit, and it's very clean and quiet! There were a lot of people using the wifi and working or studying. Seems like a nice place to do that. Maybe if this was the type of dessert I liked then I would enjoy it more, but it's not really for me. I'll go to Cold Stone across the street :) read more
