    Big Gulp is back!!!
    Lou C.

I was really curious about 7-Eleven coming back to Houston. So, I searched online and found an article http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Year-after-7-Eleven-announced-return-to-Houston-5169302.php. Then, I followed GPS to this place. The store sign says TETCO. Since 7-Eleven bought TETCO, I assumed it as a 7-Eleven. Yeah, it sure is. According to the store clerk, they are waiting for the new 7-Eleven sign for the building. It didn't take very long to look around a small store. Everything was already labeled as 7-Eleven. But the store didn't look very organized. Shipping boxes and janitorial equipment were laying everywhere. Not the kind of 7-Eleven as I was used to. My reason for being here was to fulfill my craves for the 7-Eleven Big Bite (hotdog) and the Big Gulp (soda). But the hotdogs were just started to grill (at noon) and I didn't want to wait. As for the 7-Eleven Big Gulp, I was disappointed the soda tasted weak and not fresh.

I just found another beautiful and spacious coffee spot for studying or late night dessert date!…read moreThey specialize in unique Yemeni options like Harazi Mufawar, and a variety of tasty pastrie such as Dubai cheese bread, Turkish baklava (a rich, buttery pastry made of paper-thin layers of phyllo dough filled with finely crushed nuts and pistachio), and mom's kunafa. The staff was very patient with me since it was my first time and didn't know what the desserts taste like. I got the lavender matcha half sweet and the honeycomb cheese bread. Maybe because I ordered less sweet so I don't taste the lavender at all, but my matcha did have a slightly strong fragrant smell in the beginning. But overall the drink got more bland as the ice melted. The bread was good though, they give honey on the side so you can adjust the sweetness yourself. The bread is pillowy and easily pulled apart, a good balanced sweet savory pastry because the cheese is light and not overpowering. I would love to come back again next time to try the other popular desserts and their coffees.

It was nicely balanced all the way through--not one of those drinks where you get to the bottom for all the pistachio. The spinach roll had a lot of spices, including a bit of a kick. I especially enjoyed the cheesiness. The bee bites were tasty and unique--filled with cream and drizzled with honey on top. It was not too sweet though. The people behind the counter were friendly and kind--I would go back for sure.

It had sweet milk and expresso. I thought it was sweeter than I thought it would be but still not overly sweet. I liked it and would get again. -They had many tables and also outlets good for people to use for labtops/charging. -Cafe is very pretty, modern, and overall clean. -Menu has variety with coffee, frappes, matcha Cons -Restroom or restroom doors do not have place to hang or put personal items. I had a backpack with me, and I did not want to leave it outside. -The white chairs are looking worn out and because of that, it does affect the ambience of the cafe.

Unfortunately, the latte was very different from the first time I had it. They also waited until our entire order was ready before bringing out our coffees so by the time we received them the ice had already melted, and the drink wasn't enjoyable. Wished they would've made the drinks last so the quality could've been better. The pistachio dessert was decent, and the sushi bites were okay, especially considering they came from a coffee cafe. The service was better this time around, but the tables and chairs were still very dirty like my first visit so I had to wipe them down again before using.
