Definitely one the least flashy 7-Eleven location I have been to. I was out walking around one day and was in need of an item. Being at the National Mall I knew it was going to be a hike and it brought me to this neighborhood and location. I had walked by this location at first because it is so plain. No flashy sign out front and no flashy colors either. It really fits into the street. Inside, it's rather small and doesn't allow for many people to be in here at once. Best to know what you need when you come in. I knew what I wanted and made my way to the counter. The employees may have been on the blunt side. But I assume that is because this sits amidst a university and they have to deal with weird stuff all the time. Serves its purpose. read more

I am used to the normal 7-11 sign and was surprised to see 7-11 blended in with the neighborhood. It's a smaller one but all I needed was hot coffee and was glad to see choice between medium roast and light roast. Was hoping for a dark roast but the medium roast was good enough when it's early in the morning and I needed something to be open in the neighborhood. I was in and out of there in no time. Asked for a large slurpee cup. Guy behind counter gave me one and I filled it up. When I went to pay, I wanted to use my rewards. He "scanned" it a few times and said ok, pay now. I said my rewards on the app should cover the large slurpee. He gestured to the card reader and said to use my credit card for it to work. I told him again I had rewards on my account and shouldn't have to pay anything. He kept pressuring me to pay, saying yeah the barcode worked, but you have to finish with a credit card. He kept repeating, "Have you tried a credit card? Apple Pay?" I mean practically begging me to pay, it was incredibly strange. I told him I'm not using my credit card, here's the app, please use it. Finally he bothered to look at the rewards and said oh, he gave me an extra large cup even though I asked for a large and that's why the rewards isn't working. But I'll just pay the extra large now and I can use the coupon later. Heck no I'm not doing that. Strange to grovel and lie for like $3, how desperate can you be. read more

I stopped in here to get some pizza which they usually have 2 for $2 or $2.22. I just needed something to tide me over until I got something more substantial since I had done a lot of walking up to that point...typical tourist. This store is so small but yet they had like 3-4 employees stocking and tending the counter. I assume they have a big problem with people coming in and drinking beverages from the soda fountains and not paying for them, so they have all the cups behind the counter to prevent theft and keep costs low. It makes sense, so if you go to get a Big Gulp and don't see a cup, ask at the counter. Otherwise, it's your typical convenience store, just on a much smaller scale. They have chips, drinks, candy, pastries, coffee, and other amenities you need at your convenience. It also doesn't really stand out from the street so look at the pics of the storefront so you don't miss it. And for now, don't forget to wear a mask due to covid protocol! You also have to pay for a plastic bag if you choose to have one, so just carry a reusable bag/backpack and save yourself the money. read more

I recently discovered this location after performing a search, and it's a welcome change from what I have been accuatomed to at other nearby locations. I actually work a few blocks over at GW, and for the longest time I had been going to the location near Farragut North Metro. Every time I went into that place I was either annoyed or disgusted. I could tell even in the first visit that this store is tolerated correctly. So many other locations do not have ketchup, mustard, or even napkins. But this place has all of that. They even have the 7-11 mineral water which is in sale, and for which I drink a lot of. I like this store, it's clean, economical, and the people working behind the counter are friendly. I'm even willing to walk a few extra blocks to come to this store. read more

Finally - it's actually open 24/7 like a real 7-11! Also, it just may win the award for world's tiniest convenience store crammed into what looks like it should be a row-house. Don't go here for any type of hot food - you can never tell when it has been cooked nor how long it's been sitting out.. But it's a great location to grab snacks, coffee, or other frozen items. read more

OK, funny story. It was a little before 2AM at the hotel on a recent trip to DC when I woke up with terrible heartburn. It was my own fault. I had eaten too much great Italian food for dinner that night. Not wanting to wake others in my party and not having any antacids, I tossed on a sweatshirt and headed for the lobby of the hotel. Unfortunately there was nothing open in the hotel, but the guard pointed me toward this 7-Eleven a few blocks away. The walk was great and safe, and this 7-Eleven was the quirkiest one I've ever been in. It is set into what would otherwise probably be an apartment, but despite that it had everything I wanted -- antacids, sparkling water, and some basic snacks. The guy at the counter was great, but I think he was surprised to have a customer at 2:30 in the morning. But with my purchases I made my way back to the hotel. Upon arriving, I took my antacids and sat with the guard for about 15 minutes, talking about the NCAA tournament and just making sure that the heartburn was gone. Heading back upstairs, I entered the elevator and press my floor. The elevator lurked, then sagged. Then it lurked again, and somehow felt like it jammed. The lights on the elevator buttons went out. I pressed all the buttons, but nothing. Seeing no other option, I pressed the alarm. I won't walk you through the full experience, but long about 6AM I was extricated from the elevator by the DC Fire Department. I couldn't have been more happy to have my water and snacks through the whole process. I finally got back into bed at 6:30, only to be woken by my alarm at 7. Thank you to that quirky little 7-Eleven, for having a good selection of food and drink. I didn't realize when I purchased them, that they would become my emergency provisions for a night spent in an elevator. read more

The cashier alleged that he asked me if I wanted a bag. I honestly did not hear him ask so when I was finished paying I asked for a bag. He became IRATE and aggressive. He yelled "I ASKED YOU!!!!" He refused to give me a bag even after I calmly explained that I misheard what he asked me and asked if I could still receive a bag. I never got the bag. This is the saddest 7-11 I've ever seen. It's tucked away here on NH Ave right off what seems to be a minor quad at GWU and blocks from Washington Circle. The location is surrounded by homes and many hotels, including GWU's own Inn, are just down the street. The Foggy Bottom Metro station is maybe two blocks away. All of these are reasons why this should be an attraction for the masses streaming out of the Metro! (But not into it, unless you plan on scarfing a pack of ho-hos before you board a train.) The place to go if you're drunk and everything on campus or in the area is closed! A stoner's oasis in the middle of the New Hampshire Avenue desert! It's just a mirage. In fact, I'm not even convinced this is a legitimate 7-11. Walk in the door and squeeze past other customers to browse their selection. Notice how small the shop is, which translates to fewer products being sold. Despite this, many of the shelves towards the back are empty. It can't be that hard to stock such a small place. Then, for some reason, in other parts of the store (namely the narrow aisle between the checkout counter and the shelves), things are so on top of each other that, if another hapless patron is looking at an item or group of items, you either have to wait or hope your browsing won't be mistaken for advances. Inconvenient and claustrophobic. And their coffee sucks. read more

This 7-eleven is small. First the crew in the morning is nice but the night crew rips people off. The convience of the place is nice but during crowded hours you can't move. It is located behind Foggy Bottom metro station, so you will miss it if not looking for it. If you have food stamps, the machine always seem to be broken to print a receipt. If you go in there I suggest using the register to the right. Stock is always low and the slurpy machine is always broken. read more

This is a super-tiny location, but it accomplishes the needed 7-Eleven functions: drinks, snacks and a Citibank ATM. I withrew some cash, bought my sodas and appreciated the many varieties of Slushees and snacking options. Very handy if you're staying in a nearby hotel or are a GWU student. read more

This place gets the award for the smallest convenience store I've ever see. Like all 7-11's this place is overpriced and their 'food' is either stale, overcooked (by hours) or undercooked. But, it does serve its purpose of being a place to grab a quick soda or some junk food. read more

I love going to this 711. The guys who work there are super friendly and even remember your name after a while. Being located where it is, the space is small and limited and so it feel really crowded, but you cannot beat the convenience of having it in the neighborhood for quick runs. read more

Early closing hours on a college campus, while being the only convenience store apart from the hilariously overpriced Gallery Market (Ivory Basement) makes this 7-Eleven a very situational solution for drinks and snacks. Store is very small, even for a 7-eleven, which limits the variety of products they carry in stock. Conveniently located behind Foggy Bottom Metro Station. DO NOT USE THEIR ATM! I attempted to withdraw cash, the machine made the noise like it was dispensing the cash, but no cash came out. Of course, the printer was broken, so there was no record of the transaction. Then when I asked the guy behind the counter, he pointed to a number to call, which was pretty much useless. The credit union is checking on it, because they registered the withdrawal, and it is going on two weeks. Not worth the hassle. read more
