I walked into Krispy Kreme and honestly... I think I saw heaven through the conveyor belt. The moment that "Hot Now" light is on, just know your whole day is about to turn around. The donuts were warm, gooey, and absolutely delicious--the kind where you take one bite and immediately wonder why you ever eat donuts from anywhere else in my humble opinion lol. The classic glazed melted the second it hit my tongue, like sugary clouds made by angels who clock in at Krispy Kreme on weekends. Fresh, soft, and perfect. I swear I could've eaten a dozen by myself without even blinking. The staff was friendly, the shop smelled like pure joy, and everything tasted like it was made five seconds ago. This Krispy Kreme is located right outside of the Dupont Circle subway, which makes it a very good place to get a quick sugar rush. The lobby is a bit small with only three or four small tables, but I guess this makes sense because most folks tend to grab their doughnuts and bounce. Since I was waiting to meet some people nearby and had some time to kill, I kind of wanted to sit to have my doughnut and coffee. But, oh well. When it comes to Krispy Kreme, I'm pretty basic in that I tend to order either plain glazed or chocolate frosted dounghuts. I'll say that I was a little disappointed with the selection at this location. Since I visited on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, most of the doughnuts were of the green variety. I'm sorry, but the plain glazed doughnuts with green dye looked absolutely disgusting. Since the green dye made the doughnuts look slimy, they looked more like something that should be sold during Halloween. That said, I'm sure they tasted fine. Also, the doughnuts that had white frosting with green frosting looked fine. I went with a couple chocolate covered minis, which fortunately did not have any green dye, and I thought they were fine. Location was clean, standard, and staff was effient. last time I went though they asked if I wanted warm donuts to which I obviously respond yes, and immediately regretted upon receiving the box. The Donuts were flat, jsut had not risen, and on top of that were burnt. Not just amongst the worst Krispyh Kreme experience ive had, bottom tier donuts of any kind ive had. I was able to visit during the Krispy x Barbie collaboration, and was able to treat myself to a Barbie pink sprinkle donut. It was so sugary good, but a definite consume-in-moderation type treat. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was so nice (offering me another free donut for that day's promotion). Therefore, I was thoroughly "sugared-out" by the end of my visit, but still happily delighted. Given that it is conveniently located in the Dupont Circle area, I see myself visiting again in the future for my sugary donut needs! read more

What I received was a vomit, no assortments of flavors looked like rodents chewed through them. Trashed them all. Very disappointed. 9/7/24 8pm Party of 1 Stopped by after dinner for a sweet treat. I was greeted when I walked in. Ordered: 1 Malibu Barbie Dream House donut 7/10- it's a Boston cream donut with a lot of blue icing on top. The donut itself was good but the icing was too much. I took off the entire top layer. It's still super cute though. Caramel latte 7/10: added an extra espresso shot, non fat milk and no whip. I couldn't taste any caramel but overall it was okay. Back in the summer of 2001 after I recently discovered Krispy Kreme with my parents in Arizona and went often in St. Louis we were staying in DuPont Circle and I dreamed of a Krispy Kreme just above the Metro entrance. Little did I know, this dream would come true and this would be here the years I attended college at AU and the nine past years I lived in Silver Spring. Service is usually friendly and the selection is usually good. Every now and then they can run out or be less friendly but it's been a while. Seating is more limited than suburban Krispy Kreme locations. This is the only location in the District that makes hot donuts as the other in Columbia Heights does not. read more

As I waited, I shortly heard "next in line" from the register and it was Honesty! I'm a big fan of this Krispy Kreme for a few reasons. 1) It's right on top of the Dupont Circle Metro Station (south exit) so it's very convenient to visit. 2) For a long time, it was the only Krispy Kreme location in DC, until one opened in Columbia Heights in 2021. 3) Krispy Kreme has a generous rewards program and often gives away free donuts -- and sometimes even a free dozen -- without purchase. 4) The service is always adequate and usually friendly. I've been coming to this place ever since they first opened which was early 2007 I believe, and they have always been on point! A few times I have come in and had coffee and donuts, but a majority of the time I would order my donuts to go. Even though the restaurant is rather small inside, they could do a better job and add a few more tables for people. Also the cleanliness of the store wasn't the best when I came in on this Sunday morning. I had some excitement for the strawberry iced glazed or even the chocolate iced glazed donuts, but I needed to think about other people who would be eating them, not just myself. ordered a dozen glazed donuts to bring home for me and the family, and I doubt that they will last through tomorrow. I came here for donuts and coffee. My husband and I ordered 4 original and 2 Bostons and then told the young lady we wanted an assortment for the rest. We open our box and got only one Boston and instead of a second one we received a cake batter. And the "assortment" she selected was two cinnamon sugar, 2 blueberry and two chocolate sprinkle frosting. I've been to Krispy Kreme multiple times and never got an assortment were the lazy worker just put two of a few flavors. The young lady wasn't paying much attention while we ordered. We're big fans of Krispy Kreme. The quality of the donuts at this location was A-OK. They weren't as fresh as some of the other locations we've visited but still quite tasty. The glaze on the donuts were slightly gritty but the flavors were all there. Employees were super sweet and helpful. They wrapped our donuts neatly and we were on our merry way. Came here recently with a bunch of people and anytime I come to Mohegan Sun I always wind up stopping here. This place is always managed to have excellent customer service and a wide variety of donuts and other baked goods! Always so fresh and delicious and it is always fun to watch these donuts being made on the conveyor belt! Definitely try the glazed donut when they first come out they melt in your mouth and are absolutely delicious! I have checked-in at this location on several different occasions but never took the opportunity to write a review. The picture seen with full trays of doughnuts is from a separate check-in than the review, as will become clear as you read on. This visit was at seven on Saturday evening, the store closes at 11pm, and they were completely out of Original Glazed with no plans on making more. That's four hours before closing time during the busiest time of the week and no plans to restock their primary product. Sure, we'll take a dozen of the leftover variety while they continue cleaning the store and preparing to close early. However, there is a bitterness with every bite that reminds me why I should have gone to District Doughnut instead. read more

It was backed up because three of the young women (on Friday, 9/2/2022) were all three waiting on every attractive man that was in line, and only one of them were attending to females or those less attractive men. It took three of them to put together two boxes of a dozen doughnuts and one of the dozen were all glazed. And one of them was complaining - loudly - about the order she was putting together while another was filling a case, literally, one doughnut at a time. With a line out the door, I would think you'd move a little quicker, but perhaps they were just waiting for all the less attractive men and females to leave so they could have more time with the men. This Dupont location is smartly placed right outside the Dupont Circle South Station. Everyone knows this location and loves/hates it for hypnotically luring customers in with its charming promise of smiles and whispers of ephemeral satisfaction. It has weathered the rise and decline of surrounding businesses over the years and quashed the competition, which was never really a competition, of Fractured Prune, GBD Fried Chicken and Donuts, and Zombies. Dunkin Donuts is no competition. The boutique donut shops are good ventures, but they don't have the business acumen and brand recognition of Krispy Kreme, nor are they priced well. This location is not big, but its iconic Hot Now sign is familiar to many: fresh doughnuts have just been made! 7:45pm, Wednesday, dark skies, no rain, and a glow in the distance. The sign was on, I was across the street, and suddenly I teleported to the bakery display after two blinks and had no choice but to choose the classic donut when asked for my order. The crew member, a smileless blonde teen with robotic hands and a mechanical voice, plucked a classic glazed donut from a metal tray he had just nearly tucked into the display case and slid it into a paper sleeve, dropping it off at the front counter, and, like a classic Tinder conversation, disappeared without a further word. The store was clean, brightly lit, and not crowded. A handful of customers were swirling around, and behind the counter were weary staff. There was confusion at the register, further obfuscated by a customer who I acknowledged was to be helped before me but whose order was not compete. My being generous resulted in waiting for his whole order to be readied and paid for. I couldn't wait. I wanted my donut on the spot. No photo for Yelp. No wait to take a seat. The donut was practically melting in my hands because it was insanely fresh. I consumed it in two gluttonous bites then what felt like an eternity but was really about 40 seconds, I paid with credit, got the paper evidence of the cost of my misdeed of eating a donut only hours after lamenting my clothes don't fit because of my unhealthy eating, and quietly departed hoping I hadn't been seen. These kinds of slip-ups occur only once in a while. I haven't been to Krispy Kreme in at least a year, so I give myself credit for inconceivable restraint. Yesterday and today, though, are buy a dozen donuts get a dozen donuts free. So later today I might be updating this review with a photo of 24 glazed donuts. About a 2-2.5: I usually frequent the Alexandria KK location, but having dinner with some dear friends in the area, we stopped by this location to grab some dessert. This location is definitely small, and probably the smaller-sized KK stores I've seen! They do have a belt on the premise, but don't be fooled - there was a 'Hot Light' sign that was lit up, but the belt wasn't moving - the donuts were on the rack, but they weren't 'hot.' It was a little disappointing, as you'd expect the donuts to be super fresh and hot-off-the-belt with the sign on, but they were actually cold T___T Staff were friendly, and there are limited tables inside.
