I've been to this 7 Leaves location a couple of times and it's been a great place to study. It's well air conditioned, welcoming, and many other patrons come to study too. The drinks are great and affordable, especially for the Bay Area. Here are my thoughts on some of the drinks I've had at this location. MUNG BEAN MILK TEA: Even if you try to lower the sweetness, this drink is quite sweet. It definitely leans into pandan flavors. SEA CREAM JASMINE TEA: I usually like this drink from other locations, but when I ordered it here it tasted oddly like coffee. I've been weary of ordering it again. SEA CREAM BLACK COFFEE: Definitely can't go wrong with this item. The Sea Cream is delicious and blends well with the Black Coffee to create a taste that's not too sweet. GREEN THAI TEA: Another great option that is consistently tasty. Thai Tea with some floral notes. If you don't like drinks that are too sweet, I would recommend asking them to lower the sweetness. However, for some drinks, it is not possible to lower the sweetness. Overall, the ambiance is nice and the drinks are affordable. I will be coming back! read more

This might be my favorite coffee in San Jose, and not just my favorite Vietnamese coffee. Favorite coffee overall. I usually get the House Coffee Iced at easy sweet level, and it's exactly what I want. Good sweetness level, strong coffee, and not too much ice like some more traditional coffee places. I know that may not be the most authentic, but I honestly prefer it this way. There's a lot of seating inside, though I usually get mine to go. 7 Leaves is a well-known chain from Southern California. I first tried their drinks when I was down there. So far, their drinks are made consistently. I got their Mung Bean Milk Tea with 100% sweetness. It tasted creamy and had a grainy texture. There was also a pandan flavor on top of the strong mung bean flavor. It was pretty sweet so I would recommend waiting for the ice to melt. Prices are very reasonable. For a large, it costs an extra 85 cents. The inside was big with lots of seating and had a wooden aesthetic. The cashier was knowledgeable about the drinks and answered all of my questions. read more

As always, their mobile app ordering system is fully functional and easy to use. You can order with Apple Pay and rewards points. Stopped by to do some work on my laptop on a weekend afternoon. The furniture has shown signs of wear and tear in comparison to the other locations. Most tables are rocky and have pieces of paper/cardboard to stabilize it. Countertop stools are missing from the counter area. Sprayed graffiti on the window and sticky caramel spillages outside the entrance were not cleaned up. Store has more of an ambiance to hang out with friends. Music choice wasn't disruptive. Not really a good place to do work in comparison to other locations due to noise level of other guests. There's also 4 Wi-fi networks to choose from and none of them worked except for Berryessa Square, which was super slow. Staff was friendly and quick with service. Drinks are consistent with other locations. Will be back for just picking up drinks. There's better locations to go to for working on a laptop. read more

Literally the only coffee I drink If you know me you know I live life as an uncaffeinated lady. I rarely have caffeine, and if I do it is mostly matcha/chai. For me to have a coffee means it is excellent. 7 leaves is excellent. The first time I ever had 7 leaves was in Los Angeles. I don't know what branch but it had a drive through, which was lit. I was with my aunt and uncle who know I don't drink coffee, and they peer pressured me into getting a house coffee. I am so grateful they did . Creamy, sweet, with the salty cream top. Absolute nectar of the gods. If you hate sweet coffee this is not for you. But if you are an aspiring diabetic in terms of sugar consumption, then this place is heaven. I was so happy to get my signature- house coffee with boba. The boba is tender and good quality. Not the best boba in the world but solid. The coffee, ohhhh the coffee. It literally brought me back to life- I had been awake since 1 am for my fuckass day of travel and quest to get to California to get yelled at. If you're on the verge of a crash out, get the coffee. While boba shops have made there way across essentially all enclaves that sport any significant amount of Asian American presence in California and across the United States to the point of saturation - I still rest my laurels on the opinon that the best (and my personal favorite) is still 7 Leaves. I think it is fitting that the Berryesa location is the one that I have gone to the most ever since moving up here, as it was (I believe) the first location to open up here in the Bay Area. Some other locations that have opened up after this one do have nicer interiors, better parking, and are in more interesting business/food areas, but the Berryessa location still has a good amount of seating and is generally packed with people, mostly students studying. As for drinks, the quality is generally still as good as I remember from my high school days a decade ago in SoCal. There are a few new drinks that wasn't in my original 7 Leaves review that I wanted to highlight: Mint Sereno: I remember it being introduced around 2018/2019 when I came back home from graduating and is probably the closest imitation to Philz Mint Mojito (iykyk). Bit pricy and you don't get as much but still delicious. Green Thai Tea: One of my go to's over the past few years after it came on the menu as a limited time option, and then subsequently a permanent fixture on the menu. Really nice pandan and vanilla flavor to it distinct from it's original Thai Tea counterpart. Strawberry Sunset Passion: Really nice alternative to the popular original strawberry hibiscus that was one of the few non-milk drinks they had before. Can't recommend this place enough - I have been and will continue stopping by whenever I am down in San Jose! read more

I've been coming to Seven Leaves ever since it opened, and I would highly recommend the House Coffee--it's by far the best drink on the menu. If you like coffee that's both bitter and sweet, it really hits different. That said, Seven Leaves feels like a bit of a one-hit wonder. I've tried other drinks like the Thai Tea and the Mung Bean, and honestly, they're not good. The Thai Tea tastes cheap--too sweet, but lacking in tea flavor--so I only come here for the House Coffee. I do want to try the Vietnamese Coffee, but from what I understand, it's basically the same as the House Coffee just without the whipped cream. On the plus side, they have a great rewards program through their app, which I definitely recommend if you come here often. The service, however, can be hit or miss. For example, my girlfriend once asked what was inside the Seven Leaves Tea, and the employee told her it was "classified information." It would've been better to just admit they didn't know. On top of that, the tea itself wasn't good. The ambience is nice--plenty of seating if you want to study or get some work done--but parking is somewhat limited. This is my go-to spot for whenever I want to get work done and have a little drink! There's plenty of seating inside and usually isn't too packed when I go midday on weekdays. Music is pretty much always playing so it might not be the best spot for meetings or studying without earbuds but sometimes it's quieter or more calm genres. I also tried their Ube cookie and my friend and I enjoyed it. It tasted good as you can actually taste the Ube but at the same time it's soft cookie. If you've had 7leaves, you will know they have this distinct fragrant-y taste in their drinks where you can easily distinguish it from any other boba store in an instant. I could literally drink this everyday and I actually have my own tradition of dropping by after work every Friday. My go-to's are the Assam milk tea, Thai tea, Matcha Soy, Jasmine milk tea, and of course the House Coffee! As far as the location goes, super fast service and almost 0 wait for drinks (typical of most 7leaves locations) as well as lots of indoor seating with outlets. However, despite the store size for this location, it seems to be almost always crowded during peak hours (weekends and weeknights) so a table is not guaranteed.
