I really wanted to like The Taproom again, but at this point I can't justify giving it more than three stars. I keep coming back hoping things have improved, and every time I leave disappointed. The biggest issue is the wait; my party consistently ends up waiting a very long time bi matter the size--generally 3 people, and unfortunately, the service we eventually get just doesn't match that kind of delay. It's not even a "busy night" excuse either, it feels more like a lack of urgency and organization. The staff comes across as inexperienced and unfocused, almost like there's no real management presence keeping things in check. When it seems like no one's watching, the whole place slips into that "when the cat's away, the mice will play" mode, and it shows in both service and overall atmosphere. That said, the only reason I'm not rating it lower is because I remember what this place used to be just five or so years ago. It had a completely different energy and level of service, and I keep holding onto that, hoping it'll come back. For now, it's just not living up to its past. read more

Service here is 5 stars all day every day! It's way cleaner than it was in the past and the funk of sewage or whatever it was is now gone from the inside. The beer selection is great and the taproom/double nickel beer is great. The cannolis are are a 37 out of 10! I'm a huge fan of the pizza it's our new Friday tradition. However the mushrooms are oddly saltier than anchovies I don't recommend. Other than that my only other complaint is figure out your beer list. Everytime we have come here the list isn't up to date and the wrong beer is often served or I've had to put 1 or 2 more selections in to finally get one that I wanted. Wile table service was friendly (and definitely friendlier than in the past) beers on the deck were served almost warm and food from Santucci's was mediocre at best. Three of us all ordered a personal pizza and while not horrible they didn't leave us with the feeling that we ever had to go back again. The outside deck is great on a nice weather day but the place needs an overhaul. Food prices are WAY high for the quality ($8 for an order of fries???? Add one to burgers - lettuce tomato onion- are 50 cents each??? Come on). So many better places around. Will not be returning. read more

Went to watch the Eagle's game. Great and quick service. Our server was the best I have ever had. Food arrived quickly and was good. Here is the negative. It was full of kids. Several were running from one end of the restaurant to the other. Luckily the servers were agile and swerved around the toddler in her Eagles outfit. I would never go back to watch a sporting event here or to meet up with adults since it seems like Green Valley Farms has retuned to its family oriented roots and this place is less like a bar atmosphere for adults. I love kids but was not expecting so many to be unsupervised and running around. read more

New kitchen, Santuccis Pizza has taken over. Huge improvement on this local spot. Came here previously with my wife and we both walked away with immediate food poisoning and hadn't come back for food since Santuccis took the place over beginning of this year. Pizza is solid and sandwiches and apps looked like a big improvement too. Hope they stick around because the bar is great and outside in the summer is the best. read more

Arrived early evening, excited to enjoy a great summer night outside and found a practically empty deck. We were a seated- but no server ever approached the table. Odd because there were servers chatting at the bar and the 'manager' was cleaning a table...but no one approached us. Assuming it was just a quick misstep, I went to the bar and ordered our 6 cocktails. Server arrived 15- 20 minutes after we were seated, took orders, and disappeared again. Came back to tell us they were out of some food. It happens. We reordered. Again, she disappeared. I went BACK to the bar- 6 more drinks - Aidan, the bartender, was great and apologetic. Food arrived. It was awful. Inedible. Pic attached is the $17 burger, served raw, no toppings, questionable fries. I would have told the server had she come back. The 'manager' was going to come talk to the table, but he never arrived. What manager sends in the server to do his dirty work. We all felt bad for her. Paid the bill - after the apologetic server took 20% off (again not a table visit from the manager) but we left hungry. I didn't want money off, we wanted dinner. There are so many spectacular spots in the area. Go to any of them! I'm a forgiving guy in the hospitality business, support these servers making a living, went in with the best intentions- but warning: stay away. read more

We came on a Friday afternoon, around 4:30-5pm. I tried the Street Corn Dip, Mild Buffalo Wings and Taproom Burger. All of the food I tried was just okay. The tortilla chips that came with the Street Corn Dip were a bit too salty. The Taproom Burger tasted alright, it was more cooked than I ordered (medium rare) and the fries were the best part. Our server let us know that the chipotle aioli that came with the Taproom Burger, they were out of it so I asked for mayo as a substitute. When the food came, everyone who got a burger at our table all got the chipotle aioli including myself. They burned one of the burgers too. I also got the Arnold Palmer which was a bit lacking. The service was great, friendly. They have outside seating and they have their own parking lot. 2/5. read more

I live close by and work even closer, so I've been here plenty of times over the years, most recently last night with a few friends. The best outdoor seating in the area. Most restaurants around here will have outdoor seating in the parking lot and/or right by the road with cars whizzing by. But here it's a gorgeous fenced-in deck with a beautiful old tree right in the seating area (the deck is built around it), and a big square bar with seating on all four sides. The inside is nice too, with plenty of seating, two separate bars, and separate rooms available for private parties. The beer menu is decent. Not a huge tap list but plenty of local NJ beers and at least one from over the bridge at Yards. I was pleasantly surprised to see Kings Road Brewery on tap here; first time seeing them in the wild. My friends and I ordered some wings and nachos. The wings were excellent, but the nachos were just meh. It was just luke warm cheese wiz, some pea-sized chunks of chicken, and it was hard to see what else because it was so dark. It was a weird vibe there last night. We got there at 6, the tail end of a beautiful and warm fall Saturday, right at the dinner hour, and the place was dead. The square bar was half filled, and almost all the tables were empty. There was no music, just a little bit of sound from the tv's at the bar. As it got dark, the only lights were from the tv's, a few Christmas lights on the tree (most were not working though), and some overhead lights along the fence that had the same eery lighting as a streetlight. Overall, not a bad place and I'll certainly return, but I'm in no rush. read more

The taproom is a great place to check out a live band with a group of friends. They have a nice drink selection and are reasonably priced. However, I would not recommend this place for eating. Their food is not the greatest. A lot of it is pretty dry and not very appetizing. I highly recommend it for a night out for drinks but not for their food. read more

came here on a saturday night to watch a friend's band and had an OK time. the bar itself is very spacious and has a great outdoor area but the staff working at the time were so-so. we walked inside at waited at the bar to order a drink for about 20 minutes, gave up and went to the outdoor bar instead and was served promptly. the bar wasn't busy but the bartender just blatantly ignored us even though there were 2 quite large bars inside there only seemed to be 1 bartender and a bunch of servers just waiting around and talking which i found odd we eventually got a table and after the server gave us the menus we didn't see for about 20 minutes until i flagged her down. she admitted she forgot about us and then promptly put in our drink and food orders. safe to say, definitely be aware when you come here to make sure you're not being constantly ignored. read more

I've been to The Taproom a bunch of times in the past, usually just to grab some apps and drinks. It was always okay at best, but on my most recent trip I ordered an entree for the first time and the experience really opened my eyes to what this place has become. I kept it simple and got their standard burger, it took a while to come out, they gave me cheese when I asked for none and fries when I asked for onion rings. To their credit, they replaced it with a new burger fairly quickly. However, this seemed to be the norm because every table around us was noticeably having similar problems. To top things off, the burger was unfortunately not good. It was overcooked, the bun was dry, and the bacon had clearly been made (and overcooked) much earlier in the day. The drink ware was not clean and we had to ask for utensils after being served. Unfortunately, The Taproom has a lot to work on. The food and drinks aren't really cheap either, so hopefully they fix these problems ASAP. I'll likely return at some point, it's not like there's nearby competition (probably why they survive at all), but I'll stick to beer and simple apps. Bathrooms were a mess Bbq chicken platter was stringy & dry drowning in BBQ sauce. Sauce was also pasty. Baked beans had an offensive overdose oa sweetener. Maybe a molasses but not very good. Mac and cheese was not hot and just ok. I ate it with the meat to cover the amount of bbq sauce taste. Corn bread was stale. 1 light in the far back of an unpaved parking lot makes it unsafe. First time for me. Arrived around 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. The outdoor bar area was full, the Phillies game was on and everyone was having drinks and conversation and the live music started around 6ish. That was the fun part. We ordered "shareables" starting with the Old Bay Fries with cheese sauce, panzarotti's and hot honey fried cauliflower. The fries came out first and they were cold - we sent them back. The panzarotti's were good (I'm sure they were frozen, I didn't expect homemade), then the cauliflower which was also cold. Service was slow. Met some old friends on a Sunday afternoon at The Taproom. Although I live near by, I have never been here before. We sat outside on the deck as it was a really pleasant afternoon with low humidity. The deck itself is nice with lots of shade. We had $4.00 house IPA's which were also pretty good. On a Sunday afternoon there were plenty of tables available outside. The food choices are pretty typical pub fare in the PJ's style. The menu was fairly large with some daily specials. I had the chicken Cobb salad and it was just OK but fine. Tonight I originally ordered the hummus platter, but they were out of that - probably because people order bc it's hard to screw up. So I went with the meat & cheese board, which you would think would be hard to screw up, but whoever put this board together should hang their head in shame - and be fired! I was expecting some salami, prosciutto and maybe a little pepperoni but instead I got a huge helping of pepperoni-and no other meats!!!! The cheese selection was okay, but the jams they said were homemade looked like they were poured from a can! And who puts blueberries on a meat & cheese board? Why not grapes or strawberries? They stopped serving food at 8:30pm tonight (Sunday) and we were told it depends how busy they are as far as how long they usually serve food. Bar is loud and very bright. We came in around 8:45pm and it looked like last call - all the lights on, loud, obnoxious customers... bad timing probably. More importantly and worth 3+ stars, good beer list. Update from my previous review below- I took my friend here (who knows how to run a restaurant/bar well). We were sorely disappointed. Sorry Taproom I just don't think the whole thing is workin for ya. I had eaten the brisket nachos on a Saturday- they must have cooked that meat on Saturday. Because on a Monday night- we were repulsed by the ***REHEATED ***brisket sandwich. Literally took two bites and left the whole plate to waste. Such a shame. I tried a different burger- just the angus 100% beef this time- and yes they had goat cheese. Does the chef or owner taste their food? I'm sure if they did they'd understand. The burgers have zero flavor- no onions or salt or garlic NADA. Just ground meat. It's over priced and grossly under delivered. Not recommended. I didn't check the reviews before coming here but maybe I should have? We went on a nice Saturday night and literally drove by and saw the huge patio outside and said - LETS GO HERE! We were promptly seated outside (after winding through the crowd of other tables- that patio holds so many people!). Almost ever my table had a view of the outdoor bar and thus, the Phillies Game. Very limited menu and even so the first three dinners I attempted to order they were out of. I finally ask the waitress what they actually did have so I could pick something. It took longer than it should have to get our drinks and my Grey Goose and club was Grey Goose and water since the club soda was flat. My second drink didn't arrive until I was almost done my dinner, which was a Margarita that was all mix . Two sips and I couldn't drink anymore of it. My wife and mother in law's second drinks arrived as they were finishing dinner. We had to ask for plates and napkins and received no silverware. What was puzzling is that there was one person sitting at the bar so there should have been no reason for taking so long for the drinks. We will not be going back here. read more

This place is totally confused and not enjoyable to patronize. We visited on a Friday night and the place was hopping. The building itself is very attractive both from the outside and once you get inside. Nice dark wood, big tables and a really open spacious vibe. I am sure that sometimes, it is a lovely place to dine. However I would not suggest a Friday night. Upon entering, the bar was crowded, though we were still able to be seated at one of the few open tables. The hostess was not rude but not particularly pleasant either. It was clear that the place is popular with locals, as there were a lot of people moving around the room, saying hi to people they knew, circulating around to different tables, and generally treating the entire restaurant like it was their own private party space. The guys next to us seemed to know everyone and had no problem encroaching on our space with their loud conversations as more people came over to say hi to them. In addition, there was a DJ at the end of the room positively blasting music (and not very good music, IMO). This made the room extra noisy and made everyone talking shout to be heard. My husband and I actually just gave up trying to talk and sat in silence. We ordered one beer each. Despite being called "The Taproom," we were unimpressed with the beer list. Admittedly, we are total beer snobs, but it was one of those lists that is long but not particularly exciting, and I actually struggled to find a beer I wanted to drink. In the end, I went to my go-to... a Yuengling Lager. Can't go wrong there, right? The beer itself was fine, but it was served in a Bud Light glass, which again -- just really rubs me the wrong way for a place called The Taproom. If you are going to actually call yourself the Taproom, you should serve beer in the correct glassware. The food menu, like the beer menu, is almost laughably large. I would have ordered something, but by then, I was considering how fast I could chug my beer to get out of there, so we skipped the food. Our waitress was hard to find and generally just OK. We paid as fast as we could and got the heck out of there. This place really needs to decide if it wants to be a craft beer bar, a fine dining restaurant or a night club. You can't do all three at once. Locals may like it, but as someone who doesn't live in the neighborhood, I'm not sure you could pay me to come back. We had a family get together at Taproom in few weeks ago. Everything was great! We rented out one of their rooms, and had about 30 people. It was a nice night and we were able to fully open the glass doors to have an inside/outside atmosphere. Our waitress Maddie handled our crowd very well, making sure anyone who needed/wanted a drink always had one. Food was awesome as well. We had mini panzarottis, pizzas, wings, hummus, and cheesesteak eggrolls which were all perfect bites while we drank. Food was lined up nicely on tables and staff kept food refreshed several times. 3.5 I am solely reviewing this location on the service that I had last week. I came here with a group of 40 people after the National Brain Tumor Association 5k and they accommodated our group so well. We called beforehand and they had set up a room with mini panzarottis, chicken fingers, wings and celery with bleu cheese. The servers did an excellent job working with a large group. I was told that the wings and chicken fingers were delicious. I had the mini panzarottis which only had one problem- they were so good that I wanted to eat the entire tray! I ordered macaroni and cheese off the menu and it did not have much taste to it. Everything else was great and other table's food looked delicious. I would go randomly around three years ago with a friend of mine who was sick and dying so I wanted to spend time with her. I remember leaving a note telling them how horrible their food was. A margarita pizza was a tortilla with four splashes of canned spaghetti sauce and a dollop of mozzarella cheese. I went again with her and ordered a cocktail that was so overpriced it was disgusting.
