It's one thing to watch home rejuvenation projects on "This Old House", "Fixer Upper", and "Property Brothers", but it's entirely something different when it's your house! In this case, it was a condo my mother had purchased. And with no experience in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, etc. between her and her immediate family living locally in Las Vegas, with a small budget towards any renovation, this seemed, at least to me, to be a sequel to the movie, "Money Pit", starring Tom Hanks. Except for some several year-old appliances, the interior decor of the condo displayed original fixtures from the early 90s, including the aluminum windows and popcorn ceiling. The fireplace with its huge rocks looked borrowed from "The Flintstones". Again, with no personal expertise and very limited funds (post purchase), the family hired someone word-of-mouth to perform the majority of the renovations and relied solely on the visible condition of the finished product. Mom moved in and was pleasantly overwhelmed with her newly renovated condo including all new appliances, doors, and windows. All was going well until she tried out her walk-in jacuzzi for the first time. The lightning fast drainage the manufactures of the tub marketed was taking nearly 20 minutes. Everyone reading this knows how fast hot water, not to mention your body, cools down in that amount of time. So something had to be done. After paying for two expert plumbers, the decision was made to abort the tub and put in a walk-in shower instead. This, naturally, required re-removing door, vanity, toilet, flooring and cutting into the wall adjacent to the bathroom door. It was only then we observed the poor workmanship. We knew that the contractor had a larger project upcoming but we never imagined he would cut his time short by taking short cuts and performing mediocre work. Anyone with any expertise in this area can watch the attached video and know what I'm referring to. Moral of the story: always use a reputable renovation company that is licensed and bonded, even if it costs slightly more than hiring a friend, or friend-of-a-friend, to complete the project. I apologize for the abnormal length of this review, but without it, there would be very little understanding in our exuberant adulation for Andrew and his team at 702 Services. It has been said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' In this case, the final video is priceless. It's the Renovation of a renovation gone horribly wrong. The care, sacrifices, expertise, craftsmanship, and integrity of 702 Services is unmatched in this market. When you have to look at the disappointment and worry in your mother's eyes as her "dream" of a walk-in tub was literally destroyed, but see the joy and light return, even more so than before, especially after her first shower...nothing is more gratifying, except the compassion and understanding Andrew and his team showed her every step of the way. They even took the time to explain every step of the process and the basis governing every thing they did. 702 Services is sensible, employing proven old-time methods with a modern flare and always performing their work so that it is right and enduring the first time around. I highly recommend using this company for your home remodel. We did a full kitchen remodel. Isaac came out and did the personal consult. We removed a wall to extend our kitchen into our dining room. Also put in new cabinets new island, and rearranged appliances and flooring. They even went as far as to create the cabinet color I wanted because it did not exist. TLDR: They oversold a job, lied about the nature of their crew, and from what I could see are essentially amateur DIY folks who spend all their money on trucks instead of the right tools and training. I would not recommend them for anything related to carpentry or flooring. In the rest of the review I will honestly detail my experience with 702 Services. I hired Isaac to add trim to my stairs and repair/caulk/paint my trim. The trim was not in ideal condition and did require repair in some areas. He didn't seemed deterred and made it seem like he had seen this type of job many times before. Isaac was confident that he could get it done in 3 days with a team that he had worked with for years. Including himself, his partner Paz, a "stair guy", and a "paint guy". The quote was a bit higher than I was expecting but Isaac seemed like a professional who knew what he was doing and I wanted the job done right so I agreed. That was the last I saw Isaac. The day the job was to start the first person to arrive was the painter. Instead of a painter that had worked with Isaac for years, he was someone who was hired on OfferUp two days prior (luckily he turned out to be the only professional in the bunch and I kept him on after I cancelled the job). He was not told he was a subcontractor, was not accurately informed on the nature of the job, and rightfully suspicious of the whole gig. After the painter arrived Isaac's partner Paz showed up. He primarily spent the first day supervising the painter by sitting in my kitchen on his phone. Immediately it was clear that the job I was sold on was not the one I was getting. I was told the first day was going to be prep and repair with caulking and painting starting the second day. The painter started painting right away instead of repairing the trim and filling in nail holes, when I told Paz he agreed to pay the painter more for the full package (which was included in my original deal with Isaac). Isaac couldn't show up because of a family emergency and the stair guy was going to come the second day. Paz started sizing stair trim and was clearly out of his element. I offered to let him use my chop saw and other tools but instead decided on using my finishing saw (the only tools he brought himself were a caulk gun and a tape measure; which seems odd considering the nature of the job required precisely sizing and cutting trim). The pieces were not uniform or cut neatly, but I was assured the "stair guy" was coming tomorrow to clean it up. They also didn't seem to be aware that stair trim (or any trim) shouldn't be stacked but cut at adjoining 45 degree angles so there's no gap. When I told Paz I didn't want my trim to be stacked on top of each other (they looked like Lincoln Logs) he assured me that the stair guy would know what to do. When I called Isaac he told me he was coming himself the next day and would make sure everything was going well. The next day it was just the paint guy and Paz again. Isaac never showed up (only saw him for the quote) and Paz told me he had not planned on Isaac being there (despite me being told directly by Isaac otherwise) and that the stair guy wasn't coming because it was a simple job that Paz could do himself (it was not and he clearly could not do it himself). As I was processing this, Paz had to leave for a family emergency (which is totally understandable and I hope all is well with his wife). At that point I realized the job was not being done at the level of quality or professionalism that I was sold on and that I was being overcharged for the amateur DIY quality of work. I called Isaac and cancelled the job. Isaac became very defensive, insisted that he did not oversell his work, literally compared his company to WalMart that "needs to charge a significant mark-up to be competitive" (so neither a quality contractor or good businessman it seems), and then hung up with a huff. The only saving grace is that a couple hours later Paz came back, apologized for the confusion, sympathized with how the job wasn't going as planned, and returned my deposit (minus the amount they paid the painter). Which was a very pleasant surprise that I was honestly shocked by. I get the feeling Paz is just as much a victim of Isaac's grift as I am. All in all, Paz seemed like a great guy who was just in over his head doing a job that he was not experienced in doing. Isaac gave the impression of a conman, or one of the amateur "house flippers" who got their training watching TLC, only good at selling folks on jobs and then cutting as many corners as they can. Maybe they are better at plumbing, maybe I really just got them all on a very bad week, maybe they are good at small out of the box jobs when you just need a helping pair of hands. Regardless they are not skilled craftsmen and I would not recommend hiring them. read more

I bought a house and needed several major renovations completed before our move in date. I interviewed multiple contractors, but felt most comfortable (and got the best quote) from 702 Services. They completely gutted and remodeled two bathrooms, replaced every door and all of the trim, remodeled the fireplace (which included removing an old gas fireplace and converting to a new electric fireplace), removed and replaced all of the flooring, light switches, sockets and redid the landscaping. They also mounted our TVs and installed curtain rods prior to move in. Not only did they do an excellent job, but they stayed within the original project timeline even though I added several items to the list throughout the process. Everyone I encountered through their company was pleasant and professional, but most importantly - they did excellent work. It's been two months since we moved in and everything is still in perfect shape. From large home renovations, to smaller "handyman" jobs - I can't recommend them enough!! read more

These guys do not quit until the job is done! I moved into a house that was previously owned by someone who was VERY CREATIVE with plumbing and electrical wiring, some was not up to code! I hired these guys, they came out and gave me an estimate that was less than I thought it would be. They did experience some issues as the work progressed, and some additional funds were necessary, however they showed me everything and explained it all, and I was comfortable with the explanations. Some issues they encountered were very puzzling to them, and to me, and we agreed the previous owner was not a professional. In the end, the various jobs were done by different crew members who were all specialists in their fields. They had to return after a few days to fine tune some of the work, but the original payment was honored, and they did not finish until we were all satisfied. Would I hire them again? Definitely, in fact, I already have. They were all very polite and made sure they did not leave a mess. This is my future handyman service, period! read more
