After reading the mixed reviews about this place we decided to give it a go because it is 5mi from our house and seems like the perfect date night venue. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Had an 8:15 reservation on a sat night, arrived at 8:10 and was seated by 8:15. Service was impeccable, Ray, our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Firecracker shrimp, fish and chips and the pork chop are all delicious. The food came out steaming hot. Get the cheesecake! We will definitely be back again. Ate dinner here this past Sunday and it was delicious. Very nice atmosphere and the entire staff we encountered was polite and welcoming. We had reservations for 530 and showed up early and were sat right away. We ordered the tortellini with vodka sauce and the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and both were very good. The Alzheimer's waitress needs to go. The old lady waitress with the glasses and gray hair won't remember anything she doesn't write down. We had to keep asking over and over for the same things. She also forgot to bring several things we ordered. Food was pretty good but terribly overpriced. Service was F! Also, the wedge salad at outback is way better than the one here. Just sayin. Be sure to make reservations on the weekend to avoid a wait. We had reservations for 5:45pm on Saturday; when we arrived the place was packed, but we were promptly seated. We started off our meal with the firecracker shrimp, which was FANTASTIC. Order them. You won't be sorry. We gobbled them up, along with the lettuce they were sitting on, ensuring we wasted none of the sauce! For my dinner, I chose a bowl of she crab soup and wedge salad. The soup was delicious and not overly creamy, and the wedge salad was everything you would expect. My husband had the Mt. Pleasant sirloin with a side of mushroom gravy. The steak was good, and cooked to his request of medium temperature and the gravy was delicious-he had to ask for a second serving :). We finished our meal with an incredible chocolate cake. The restaurant itself is gorgeous yet comfortable, and I love how it is situated on the corner of Mt. Pleasant with large windows overlooking the intersection. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is there is some room for improvement as far as service goes. It is a brand new restaurant, so hiccups are expected, and I have no doubt they will get to five stars within the next few months. For example, my husband's meal arrived 10 minutes before mine. I realize I ordered a soup and salad, so our meals were likely coming from two different areas of the kitchen. When my food was finally delivered, a food runner brought it out on a tray, set it beside another table, and walked off. Assuming it was my food, after several minutes my husband got up and retrieved it. Our server also did not have a good handle on the beer/wine menu and had to return to ask for our orders again. If you plan on going in the near future, be prepared to be patient. It is worth it. I will definitely be back! read more

This was our first time at 73 and main and it was excellent. A little piece class and wonderful food tucked in a small town life. We had ribs , brussel sprouts and the amazing bread pudding !! Absolutley delicious. We really liked that the specialty cocktails were so unique rather than being the standard old drinks offered everywhere else. The Cell Block in particular, with the smoked decanter (filled with smoke from burning bourbon barrel wood), was amazing. We also ordered the charcuterie board, which was really good, with the bacon jelly being a stand-out. The 12oz filet mignon was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of char to add a some crunch and a blast of flavor. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Service times we well within expectations. There are two reas0 myons why this is not five stars. 1, the dessert choices were on the ordinary side (triple layer chocolate cake, cheese cake, key lime pie...) which was unexpected considering how inventive the drinks and entrees were. And 2, with so much open space, wood flooring, and tin celling, it was quite loud. Even sitting at a two person table we had a hard time hearing each other. Those were relatively minor issues, though, and didn't detract from our enjoyment of the meal. We will definitely be back. read more

I live in Monroe and this is a great restaurant option without having to go the whole way to Charlotte. Dress is casual to formal. Food is simple to complex but everything is delicious!!! We've been here two times now and the food, drink and service is consistently fabulous. The steak is cooked perfectly, the salmon is wonderful and the crab stuffed trout is amazing!!! Portions are also very generous. Add some fried pickles or fried green tomatoes and a peach Bellini or one of the other delicious cocktails and it is definitely a trip worth taking to Mt Pleasant. We haven't ever gotten around to dessert but they sure look incredible. Prices are fair. Definitely my favorite new place for a dinner date with hubby. Would recommend reservations on the weekends, it stays pretty busy. read more

Nice looking restaurant in a very small town. We were seated at 5:45 pm on a Saturday. There were several empty tables. Initially our server was very attentive. 3 of us ordered prime rib which was perfect. However, one of us ordered chicken Parmigiana. When it arrived it reminded me of a flip flop with cheese on it. Our waitperson didn't bother to check with us so I had to grab her on the way by. Sent this back. A guy in a jacket came around to see how we were doing. We explained and he went back to check. After a long wait another plate of chicken Parmesan. Again it looked like a flip flop sole. The breading was burned. Overcooked and dry. Very little marinara. Was again awful. Inedible. They took it off our check. But as this was our first time there we were unimpressed. Can't imagine a real chef allowing that food to leave the kitchen . If we ever go back we'll stick to steak. Oh, I asked our server for a dessert menu which she brought. Then didn't come back around for 20 minutes. I skipped dessert. read more

Great food and service. Would recommend making reservations ahead because I heard the wait is always bad for walkins. My wife and I had steak and crab cakes which were fantastic. We have heard some people complain about the prices but for the food it's a good price. If you want a cheap good burger go to whataburger. If you want a good steak or seafood with a craft beer this is a great place especially without having to drive too far. read more

I got the fettuccini alfredo and a side order of the asparagus and hollandaise sauce. Both parts of my meal were absolutely delicious! The asparagus was perfectly cooked and seasoned and my pasta was creamy and rich. I really loved the old building. It was beautiful and really cool looking. The service was wonderful and attentive. Went yesterday with my wife and sister-in-law to try the Charlotte Restaurant week menu. Very busy for a Wed. so service was a little slow, plus our waitress appeared to be new. Once we reviewed the "special" $35 dinner menu it became clear the only thing you got that was extra was a dessert so we decided to order off of the normal menu. I wanted an end cut of prime rib, which was on the "special" menu as well as the normal menu so i figured i would get that for $22 and skip the dessert.....after we placed our order the waitress comes back to tell me prime rib is only served on Thur & Fri???? I said, but you told me you had an end cut and it is available on tonights special menu, so why cant i just order it? She said her manager told her i could not get it.....so, i ordered a $14 fish and chips dinner......hmmmmm, if i were the manager i would have allowed the customer to order a more expensive dinner. So now we have slow service, food they have in the kitchen, but i can't order and then my wife's dinner shows up. Medallions of beef that were about 1/2" thick and tasteless. She had to send them back and reorder the salmon.......all around, a very frustrating night with only "ok" food, all for a mere $130........i don't think we will be returning for another try......too many other good restaurants to go to. read more

Very disappointed! We came for Mother's Day Brunch. The hot food was cold as the sternos had gone out. The staff was trying to replace them but did not replace the food. Pastries had not been replenished nor had the fruit! Ordered a mimosa and coffee. We asked three times during our meal and were told they were coming. Watched tables around us (people who came in after us) get their drinks and even second rounds of drinks. Our drinks finally came after we had finished our meal!!!They do not appear to have enough staff to accommodate the number of guests. Really want this place to succeed. On a positive note, I have had a great dinner there in the past but will probably not be back for brunch. For the price, the buffet was not good! read more

Have wanted to schedule a business lunch since before the restaurant opened. Went in to scout it out about a month after it opened. Arrived around 5:00, sat at the bar and had a pleasant old fashioned. The bartender was friendly and made a fresh drink. I inquired about when they may open for lunch, as I had heard they would start lunches in the spring. Ended up speaking with the manager, who was welcomed me to walk around and have a look at the space. She also mentioned they were not sure when they would open for lunch but could accommodate a group of a dozen at lunch. The place was overstaffed for that time of day, but presume they were preparing for a dinner rush. The restaurant is appointed well and even has an elevator. I inquired on the way out about scheduling a business lunch and was given the event coordinator's card. A few days later, I called and scheduled lunch for a month later. A week before the scheduled reservation, the coordinator called to confirm. Before getting off the phone, I heard her say that there was a $100 table fee but did not have time to discuss. After getting off the phone, I send an email inquiring about the table fee. I was told this was to staff the restaurant during off hours. Although I realize the cost of having staff come in to serve one party, I do not see the value is having a $100 table fee. Finally, it is neither clear on the website nor in speaking with the bartender nor manager that there is a fee associated with coming in for lunch. Needless to say, I cancelled the reservation. Maybe next time instead of them overstaffing at dinner, they can have us in for lunch at no fee. Otherwise, may wait if and when they ever open for lunch. Seems like a restauranteur that has limited experience and money to waste. Hope everyone enjoys the location; well done for Mt. Pleasant! read more

1st time going. And I'm sure it will be my last. Had a 7:15 reservation. Walked in and gave them our name. The hostess said it would be a few minutes that our table wasn't ready. I looked at the dining room and half of the tables were empty. Then we were seated. It took our waiter about 15 mins to come to the table. We ordered our drinks. And waited and waited. Finally we got our drinks and ordered our meal. I thinK I could have went out and killed the bull and dressed it out and gave it to them to cook before we got our meal. The steak and prime rib was not as flavorful as Golden Corral. It's sad that some customers think this is a outstanding place to eat. I guess the bar is the biggest draw. My wife's steak was burnt on the outside and rare on the inside. My prime rib was rare and no taste! I ordered a medium. I wish they would have spend their money on quality cooks and waiter staff. Not that the waiter staff was bad. But Slow!! Very very disappointed in this place. Will not go back. That's for sure unless I win the lottery. But then I wouldn't waist my money their again. Nothing wrong with the people there. They were nice. But I've met nice people at Burger King too.way too expensive! read more

I usually love this place. My husband and I go all the time but for the past two weeks they have been very inconsistent. I know they just started doing the growlers but they are very flat and one time we asked for one beer and got a completely different beer. I personally wouldn't suggest them. Today we got the crab cakes and mashed potatoes. They were not the same crab cakes at all! They were very bland and had no taste. The mashed potatoes are usually red skin mashed potatoes but not this week! This week they taste like boxed potatoes with no taste at all. They forgot the sauce that comes with them as well (which was not a big deal). Then We got the new strawberry summer salad with sirloin on it. I got the same thing last week but this week is was a completely different salad with a completely different dressing. The steak was way under cooked and I had to cook it more when I got home. We also got the cheese cake with chocolate and strawberry sauce. Except it didn't have either one of them. That's really not a big deal either but for what they charge it should be waaaaaaay more consistent than that. We spent $70 on this meal and couldn't finish the crab cakes and potatoes. We also had a friend get the crab cakes and mashed potatoes the night before and they said the same thing about them both. There is one thing that is consistent.....The staff, they are always friendly and very nice! Usually I would give them five stars but idk if it's the stress of Covid 19 or what, but we still paid a lot of money for our meal that was just not good. read more

Had dinner at 73 on Friday night 3/9/18. This was our second visit to 73. Our first one was with a group and while not impressed, felt we would give it a second chance. Service: was a bit slow. Nice waiter, but not very attentive. I placed an order for a drink that when it came out was not drinkable. I did tell the waiter I would pay for the drink, but I was told no, the house would take care of it. When I got the bill, the drink was still present, so I went ahead and included it in my payment. Food: Average at best. I had steak, my wife had salmon. Both ok, but nothing to get excited about. Drinks: Ordered bourbon on ice. There is a separate charge of $2 for the ice! The base drink prices were for "neat" and were at market prices ($9-$12), add in the $2 for ice and you start to feel a bit ripped off. They had quite a crowd being the biggest draw in Mt. Pleasant, but unless you live there, I can recommend some much better places for the money. read more

I hope it gets better! Growing up in Mt. Pleasant, I hah high hopes for this place. We had a party of 12 (6 adults, 6 kids) and between our servers arguing over who would get the tip from the table, the long amount of time for good to come, the multiple wrong drinks brought to our table, the $500 bill and the rare filet that was cooked well done, our first experience was not too good. Lesson learned this past weekend is don't believe all the hype and judge for yourself. Also have NO expectations going in. We went for brunch this weekend and did not want the buffet that most people were getting. Not big eaters and buffets are not the most sanitary way to eat. So we ordered off the menu. Very few options. Blah. Since most people were getting buffet, most of the wait staff was not that busy except to serve drinks and clear tables. Waitress forgot the requested lemon with our water. Never asked for coffee refill. Did not know what the soup and pannini special was and there are not that many options on Sunday menu. Did not check one entree for missing ingredient (sausage) before serving it and disappeared as the entree got cold (didn't want to eat anything as proof key item was missing) as we looked for her to come back. Finally flagged her down and she did get the missing food. When we asked for dessert menu, she told us to go to buffet room and pick something there and she thought it would be $6. The list, she said, was too long for her to tell us. All that was there was unlabeled pieces of pies and cupcakes .. small pieces not worth $6. Bottom Line: Add more options to brunch menu for people who do not want or like buffets. For example, the lunch menu that started on Fridays and Saturdays .. carry it over to Sunday . Or if that is what you want people to order, don't have any other options. Also have a dessert menu for those not getting buffet. It was not good food (okay at best) and it was definitely not good proactive service. If your aim is upscale, have staff that is trained to be in an upscale restaurant. Felt we were penalized for not getting buffet and not being drinkers (of alcohol). On a positive note, they did a beautiful job on the restoration but that is not enough to bring us back. Sorry. Once was enough! VERY disappointing after everything we read about this place. Think they have a few designated cheerleaders (other local business people) posting ultrapositive rave reviews. read more
