So excited to have such a top of the line establishment here in Mount Pleasant. I have been here numerous times so far since the opening and there has not been a time yet where I wasn't impressed. One of a kind environment with a beautiful glass front which gives the small town feel to it while having a delicious dinner with good company. The bartenders, hostesses, waitresses have always been out of the world nice, caring and very personable. It's always a nice touch when the manager comes to your table to talk and ask how everything is going with the experience. The food is very impressive, but because the restaurant is basically split up between the dining room side and the pub side I have different favorite meals for both sides. Dining Room Side - Chicken Alfredo: This dish is always a party in my mouth, noodles are cooked perfectly, the chicken has a slight crisp sometimes which is nice and the alfredo sauce is just the absolute BOMB. Pub Side - Taco Tray: Simple yes but the tastes are just out of this world. You can choose between corn or flour tortilla and then the choice of three types of meat. Shrimp, Chicken, and Steak. Let me just save you the decision, get one of each, you will not be disappointed. One of the best places to eat if you're looking for a good steak! We went there for my husbands birthday dinner and it was PERFECT!

We made reservations today for a party of 12 for 1 pm this afternoon. We arrived early and waited until almost 1:30 for our table to be set up. Our waitress would refill the sweet tea for everyone at the table but one of our friends had unsweetened tea and had to wait and ask several times for refills for hers. We all had the brunch buffet which wasn't terrible but in our opinion wasn't worth the $16.99 price as a lot of the food on the buffet was over cooked, or cold and the options were sparse. Two of my friends in our party ordered omelets to go with their meals. They waited over 20 minutes for them and finally my mother had to ask the waitress where their food was. Her response was "you haven't gotten them yet?" If she is our waitress shouldn't she know that? When she came back about 5 minutes later with the omelettes she said "I really wish you would have asked me earlier about them." We shouldn't have to ask where our food is... a good server would know the situation and keep the party updated. We felt rushed out of the dining room and couldn't spend time talking (this was my bridal shower luncheon) because the servers were cleaning up around us and putting chairs away etc for their afternoon clean up before dinner hours. We know because she mentioned that they close and clean up before dinner which starts at 5 pm. The restaurant as a whole is really pretty and has a nice atmosphere but the servers at the buffet and the waitresses were not very professional or kind which made the entire experience not as enjoyable as I would have hoped for my shower. read more

this would be our 3rd time eating at 73 & Main 1st experience was simply okay, the bartender was SUPER rude but we didn't worry about that because we moved to a table where our waitress was fabulous & the food was good. 2nd time was alright, the food was mediocre & the service was slow but...it wasn't terrible. But then tonight, my husband and I called in a to-go order. We ordered a burger medium and petite sirloin medium well, when my husband got home the burger was well done and the steak literally looked like it hadn't been cooked. I am pregnant & absolutely cannot consume raw or undercooked meat. it literally ruined our date night in. My husband called back up there to let them know what had happened and to make them aware that they were sending undercooked meat home & that could have made me VERY sick & has potential to be seriously harmful to our unborn child. The manager was nice and said he would give us a refund on our card....but my husband paid cash? My husband and I were so frustrated he just hung up and considered it a loss, our dinner & night in was ruined & more than likely we will not be back ever again. Needless to say, 3rd time was not a charm. The only 5 stars I can give is the cheesecake, but that's easy to find elsewhere. read more

The history and the way they were able to inter grate some of the original materials into the new concept. Fine dining with an upscale, but comfortable, club feel. Two bars, Chefs Table (What a treat) outside patio dining, even in very cold weather is comfortable with the fire place and heaters and upstairs private event room (looked to be about 2500-3000sqft) with a small bar and service area. There is an elevator to access this top floor room. Really nice view! All this and GREAT FOOD! This is a must try, even if you don't live in the area! Worth the Drive!! read more

If you have not tried this place you REALLY NEED TO! By far the best restaurant around the Charlotte area, they put Ruth Chris to shame. I know it's a little bit of a drive but it's well worth it. We travel from coast to coast and try to visit as many restaurants/pups as possible in between. 1st impressions are important. Upon arrival at opening at 4 PM on Saturday (not busy), a server seated the couple in front of us, presenting them with menus. We were not acknowledged, just left standing there, not even seat yourself or we'll be with you shortly. We decided to sit at the bar. The young server came over right away and served us a drink. We did ask for menus to see what was available since we had not decided if we were going to dine there at that time. A couple more bartender/servers came in. Everything went down hill after that. No one ever came back to ask us if we wanted another drink. We almost had to stand up to get attention, as we waved our arms high in the air. They were too consumed in wiping glasses, talking among themselves & other customers, and watching TV. It took another bit of time to get our tab since we were not going to give them any more of our business. That process was very quick. We only left a $5 tip, and have been known to leave up to 100% tip for good service. All-in-all, we give the atmosphere a 5 and the service a 2. The menu was great and the prices were fitting. Price is no object but we expect the service to be on the same level as 50% of the dining experience is based on the service. Maybe one day might give them another chance. read more

We are so disappointed in the poor customer service 73 & Main provided during our most recent experience with them. We sent the below email to them following an incorrect pickup order and asked for someone to reach out so we could discuss the issue, and no one ever responded despite multiple follow-ups. We were so excited to have a nice restaurant nearby, and have eaten here several times with consistent service issues (delayed wait even with a reservation, too busy to accept pickup orders, dining for 2 that took more than two hours from start to finish), but we will never dine here again after this most recent experience. Very disappointing. Hi there, Hope all is well! I wanted to reach out regarding a negative experience we had at your restaurant tonight to ensure your team is aware and understand what steps will be taken moving forward to avoid such issues. Most importantly, after waiting a significant amount of time (more details below) for our food and getting it back home, we found that the 73 & Main Burger we ordered was raw - as you know, this made it inedible and a complete waste of money on a meal we couldn't eat. Additionally, the wait time and confusion on our order already set the stage for a less-than-desirable experience. We placed our order at 4:55pm knowing that there is typically a 30-minute turnaround time for orders. Based on past experience with orders here, we waited 40 minutes before arriving because there have been several times that our order wasn't ready when we arrived at the requested time. Upon arrival, the hostess forgot to notify the kitchen that we were picking up our order, and then after waiting additional time, our order was brought out to someone else. It took several more minutes before our order was provided to us following. We didn't leave the restaurant with our food until 6pm - more than an hour after we placed it. We've greatly enjoyed the food from your restaurant on multiple occasions, but the poor experiences we've had in terms of process and timeliness - and now food safety - are deterring us from wanting to dine here again. Went on the Saturday before Easter with a large party (~14). Most of the guests has a steak, which most were underdone, compared to how they were ordered ( mine, Rare rather than medium). A steakhouse cant cook steaks properly? I could see maybe one, but ~10? ). Showed the waitress mine to let the kitchen know. Either she didn't tell the MOD, or they couldn't have cared. I don't mind paying a 4 Star price for a 4 Star meal but, they need to get it together. The waitress couldn't get the drink orders right, then she couldn't give any feedback on the menu. Came here on a Tuesday night with my fiancé and a couple of our friends after wanting to try it for several months. SO GLAD WE DID! Service was top notch (more on that in a sec), we shared the seared tuna app then I enjoyed the crab stuffed trout and my fiancé had the Aged Ribeye (there are several options on the menu). I also enjoyed the Mule to drink and was a little worried about the pink lemonade taste, but it turned out to be delicious! Our food was so, so good. Everyone at the table was very pleased and we couldn't stop raving. We even enjoyed a piece of the carrot cake for dessert which was again, amazing just like all of the other food. Back to the service - our waitress was more than friendly, she mentioned she was relatively new, but she was very helpful and courteous, not too overbearing. When our checks came, both ours and the other couple's tuna appetizers were comped - still no idea why, but the tab said "kitchen comp" so we assumed that may have been because they did take a little while to come out. Despite that, this is our new favorite restaurant near our house and the other couple agreed we will definitely come back soon! read more

I absolutely loved this place. I visited during Charlottes restaurant week, and I'm super glad that I did. I got the prime rib, and I'm honestly shocked this size of steak was listed with the other dishes for $35. I loved the Caesar salad with the candied walnuts on top and the cheesecake was a great way to top it off. The staff was super awesome and very friendly. Would visit here again. read more

Service was great -- restaurant was quite busy and we came without a reservation but did not have to wait to be seated or for service. Steak was tender (a little overcooked) but they fixed that without any hassle. Steak comes unseasoned but was not flavorless. Fish was tender and excellent!! Great drinks menu but does not have any local wines, hopefully yet. They love to work with local businesses and have a bourbon bar with the local distillery's drinks. Restaurant is busy most nights and has both a dining room and pub menu - you can order from either menu regardless of where you sit. If you can make a reservation, I would recommend it read more

New favorite! Made the short drive from Concord, and so glad we did. We ate in the bar and loved the decor. Kristy was our waitress and she was outstanding. Pleasant,funny and attentive. Three of us got the pimento bacon burger. Yummy, excellent. We also had a side of large,plump wings cooked just right. Great selection of craft beers too. We have eaten here 3 times and it is consistently good. The servers have been trained very well on the menu and bar drinks. They have many people to come around and check on you, to make sure that you have been taken care of. Anytime that we have asked for something, it is taken care of. The food is great and the menu has a great variety. We live 45 minutes away from here and have no problem making the drive. WELL WORTH IT. read more

Beautiful place in Mount Pleasant! We have had dinner there twice and both times the food was very good. Service was great on both occasions. The first time we were a party of 4 and the second a part of 8 and both times the food was served in a timely manner without being rushed. The only suggestion for improvement involves the music. Live music is great but both times it was very loud, and the acoustics in the place are terrible (great atmosphere for dining but for live music it made conversation at our table very difficult). I've been to 73 & Main several times in the past couple of months and I can't say enough good things about it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is helpful and informed, the food is top-notch. I've enjoyed the steak special, with the steak done perfectly and the potatoes scrumptious, salad fresh and crisp. The ribs delicious and sauced just right. The salmon was truly the best I've ever had, with a nice amount and cooked perfectly. Next up I'll try the Sunday Brunch which friends say is the best around. Reservations a must on Sundays. Finally made reservations took my family tonight. All in all we had a great time. Five of us ate from steak to chicken to shrimp to tortellini and whole flounder. The total bill was less than $130 including tip. Make sure to take time for the tour since this is a historic building and well worth the time. I'll look forward to going back. read more

What a pleasant surprise! We were searching for a date night. Not wanting to go to Concord or Charlotte we settled on Mt. Pleasant and I must say it was quite pleasant and scrumptious! We made reservations for quite early, 5:30pm on a Tuesday night. Glad we did because the restaurant started to fill up within the hour after we got there and they had a wait when we left. This place leaves no stone unturned! There is really something for every palate. A bar connected to the main dining next door offers many beers on tap along with bar food which you can order in the main dining. There is also patio dining. The wine selection was exceptional, especially for a small town. We had a nice bottle of 2011 Silver Oak. Our waitress Jessica was absolutely delightful and once we placed our order Gary, one of the managers came over to introduce himself and tell us a little about the history of the restaurant. And then Anthony the General Manager came over and he gave us lots of beneficial info. Like the fact they have an upstairs venue that's capable of seating 160! This will not be our last time here as I foresee us being regulars! Already planning our next dinner! read more

Very disappointing Sunday brunch. We had a large party of about 20 and were seated in the porch area. A large majority of the food on the buffet was very spicy. And those of us who ordered an omelette said that it was "greasy". The carved beef was over done to quote the carver he said "they overcooked it so all he had to offer was well done slices". Had to ask the servers for refills and water, tea and coffee. They just weren't very attentive. I have had dinner there on other nights and it has been fabulous. Great steaks! But I will definitely not go back to the Sunday brunch not worth the price. read more

So our first trip here was last night. Had Reservations for 5:30 pm, and were promptly seated. Waitress was extremely nice and service was very good.One of the guests at the table ordered a medium 12oz sirloin and what he got appeared to be one of the fattiest ribeyes we have ever witnessed. No big deal, steak was replaced with a choice cut and all was well. One thing I did notice is that people stayed at the tables FOREVER.....we were there almost two hours and there were large tables that had been there before we arrived and they looked as if they had no intention of leaving anytime soon. So no wonder I heard the hostess telling patrons who didn't have a reservation that the wait was over an hour, at 5pm? Give me a break....this is Mt. Pleasant, not uptown Charlotte or Ballantyne......I get that this is the only half decent place to eat in the area but the prices and just hearing about the wait kill it for me. I don't get it and I don't really care, so I'm not going to wait over an hour for mediocre food and watch tables of 15 sit there for hours and hours and hours. last gripe, we got our check and gratuity/service charge was over 20% already added to the bill, for 6 adults and two kids under 10? I'm not saying the tip wasn't well deserved by our server, BUT LET ME make that decision.Whatever, we paid the bill as it stood, but I wasn't impressed at all with our visit. read more

Our waitress was very kind and attentive to the table. She provided excellent service. Now, the food on the other hand. It was honestly disappointing. There were a few good items and a handful of mediocre ones. Comparing the price to the quality of the food, it honestly is not proportionate. The only reason my review is where it is at, is the waitress. Perhaps their regular food is better than the food on the buffet. But if I have one recommendation, Do Not Eat At The Buffet. We went to 73 & Main last week with our adult children and their significant others. We had a very enjoyable evening. We started with several craft cocktails and the three gentlemen all ordered a bourbon from their excellent offerings. I viewed the antique and collectible bourbon menu and was blown away that a restaurant in Mt. Pleasant was offering these hard to find bourbons. well done. The table started with the charcuterie plate and the six of us dug in and sparks flew off the platter. Nice assortment. Everyone ordered some variation of steak. From the medallions to the tomahawk to the rib-eye. Everyone ordered medium-rare and 5 out of 6 hit the mark. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 would be personal preference....4 of our 6 dinners suggested just a bit more seasoning on the steak. I added a modest amount of salt and the meat seemed to step forward. Also, I read about the clean bathrooms....they were top notch. Means someone cares about the details. When we visit our daughter again I plan on going back....I'd just like to have a driver so I can sample more of the bourbon. read more

I must start by saying i have a severe peanut allergy. I told the waitress of my problem. I ordered the calamari as an appetizer, and the trout as my main dish. I was taken to the hospital where i spent 5 hours. My wife did call the next day and talked to owner. He told her he was going to find out what may have caused my reaction and call her back. Loved our lunch today. We spent a lazy morning wandering around White Owl Antiques until the hubby rebelled and declared it was time for lunch. He had a perfectly medium rare burger (fresh ground) with nice well done fries the way we like them. I had French dip with a side salad. The au just dip was beefy not overly salty like many restaurants. Our server was on point the whole time and recommended an awesome NY cheesecake for dessert. Warning: slice is large but delicious. Creamy cheese and tasty graham crumb top and crusts with sauces that are not even necessary. Great coffee and a fancy Revolution tea selection. Top notch experience. Our server reminded us that they are having restaurant week and I'm seriously thinking about my next meal here soon. If you are in town don't miss it. read more

We went last night with a party of 16. The food was great. I had the crab stuffed trout with mashed red potatoes. The service was good. A table of 16 is difficult, but they kept up with our needs....Until after dinner. We always pay on separate checks with 2-4 people in each check. It was more than 30 minutes after the plates were cleared and one person inquired that the waitress started going around asking who was with whom. This meant that our time from plates cleared to when we signed the bill was very close to an hour. We will go back in the hope they have more groups between now and then and figure out a system that works. It was only because of the lack of knowing how to deal with the bill that I deducted one star. read more
