Super hot day, after our Staten Island Ferry ride was over. We needed a cool restaurant. I searched and found this place that turned out to be a carryout with a few tables. There was a bit of a breeze, but no a/c. The gentleman working, who I believed to be the owner, was very nice. We ordered burgers (turkey for me) and they came with fries. The food was great. Wow! 77 Burger has one of the best burgers I've had yet in New York City. During my stay at the Financial District for work, I was looking for food to eat near my hotel in FiDi after flying in from Vegas. Looking for places on Yelp that were still opened around 8:30 on a Tuesday evening, 77 Burger was one of the first restaurants to pop up on the list! When I walked inside the restaurant, it was packed! All of the outside tables were in-use. There were a few people waiting inside for their order. 77 Burger has fresh flame-broiled burgers. There are also other options like hot dogs, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, vegan, turkey burger and so much more! I ended up ordering the cheeseburger, plain with pickles as a to-go order to bring back to my hotel room. The wait wasn't too long, approximately 20 minutes. The cheeseburger also had French Fries as a side. Ketchup packets were provided in the to-go order as well as utensils. The burger was cooked perfectly! It was cooked medium, slightly well-done on the outside. Each bite was super juicy! The burger was delicious!! One of my favorite part was the pickles though! I've never had such thick cut pickles before. The pickles were crunchy and packed with flavor! They had put so many pickles on the burger and it was sooo good!!! I can't wait to come back to 77 Burger again! While waiting for my order, I was talking with the team member at the register about the restaurant. It's a local business in New York City. The Newport Mall once had a "robo-burger" machine. It didn't get much business and in a few months it was gone. Not everything needs high technology. 77 Burger is a slower process than some of your favorite chains. But the fresh flame-broiled burgers are worth the wait. I've enjoyed the New Yorker, the Chipotle and California. The add-ons are impressive but I should probably try the plain next time, kind of like when I'm trying a new pizza joint I don't start with pineapple-and-ham. The pickle is a nice touch for those of us who want five seconds of feeling healthy before consuming a massive amount of meat. The service is always friendly and the outdoor section has certainly been welcome in the Covid era. I don't know the economics of how a homespun place like this gets by in an expensive, chain-dominated region, but it's a delightful outlier. read more

The burger was delicious and moist. I put in an online order and he's a good thing because its a small place that only has about 4 window seats. Not really much room to hang out inside. There's seating outside but as the weather gets colder that may not be an option. The restaurant is in the opposite side on corner of the deli that shares 77 Pearl St. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium well but it was more medium which could be fine with most people but I'm not a fan. On a lunch break from touring the Wall Street area, I thought I'd give this restaurant a try since I had a limited time. So glad I did. It's a no-frill restaurant. The limited menu is very much to the point. After placing the order, Bacon Cheese Burger with a Strawberry Shake, the cooked to order meal was up within 10 minutes or so. I sat in the "patio" since it was a warm spring day. The burger was grilled perfectly while the fries were well seasoned. The shake was thick. The chipotle burger was not a tease-- it brought the heat!! I was so happy to find this cute burger and hot dog spot with its outdoor seating off the corner of Stone Street. With reasonable prices (offering a number of items under $15) and 8 oz. burgers (fries included), 77 Burger is the place to go for a quick and scrumptious bite after a drink at Ulysses, or wherever the day/night leads you. My chipotle burger was made ready quickly and included cheese, jalapeños, sauce, lettuce, tomato, and fried onions! There were fries and a pickle on the side. I'm trying to eat less carbs, so I ate around the bun with a fork and knife and skipped out on the fries (sadsad), but the burger paired with toppings was excellent! As a spicy food lover who hates when restaurants falsely advertise spice, I approve of this burger's heat level; my mouth was burning (in the best way). Looking forward to stopping by again. Sadly we didn't take any pictures of the food but what we can say is looks definitely are deceiving here. The place is a small hole in the wall. Hot inside and decently clean for what it is. Where it shines is the food and that shines bright. I got a basic cheeseburger and my wife got a California burger. Those both also came with fries and a pickle. The burgers were absolutely fantastic and were picky with burgers. They were cooked to the temps we wanted perfectly and quickly. The buns were great and the meat tasted delicious. The ketchup they kept in the fridge so it was nice and cold too. We definitely recommend coming here to grab a bite. read more
