    Onion Rings. 4 stars. Insta/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats
    Alex M.

(Overall: C) - I found Black Burger to be quite middle of the road. I've definitely had far worse burgers before, but their food does enumerate a number of culinary flaws that, if fixed, could be much more enjoyable. (Onion Rings: B) - This appetizer was quite enjoyable as it is a large portion that is freshly fried and piping hot, which pairs well with their barbeque sauce. One criticism is that the grease control could be improved. (Pineapple Teriyaki Burger: F) - The first time I had this burger, it was better, but this time there just appeared to be techical flaws after another. First, the patties were overcooked and dry. It's evident that the grill is too hot as the buns are burnt black. Then, the teriyaki sauce is too thin as the wrapping builds a pocket of liquid waiting to explode and make a mess everywhere. That being said, the concept of pineapple, bacon, and some fresh vegetable is a good one to create infuse some sweetness into the burger. -- Food: E Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: E Menu: E Overall: +0 C Insta/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

    Hawaiian burger

Needed something good to eat late-night and found this. Had the Hawaiian burger, and it was cooked very well. The ratio of fries to burger was excessive, but the fries were seasoned very well. The general sitting area was very tight and could use a good wipe down. If you're in the in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by.

Went here after I had an appointment around the area. To be honest I looked at the menu and reviews before ordering and decided to finally go with the smash burger double. The space is kind of tiny so it would be difficult to sit and eat here. I went with the combo which included curly fries and a small drink. Personally, the burger was OK. I've had better. It did not really feel juicy to me or tender. The fries were good and crispy. Overall not a bad option.

What a solid spot for late night delivery. The curly fries are yum and the burger is juicy and hits the spot. I am in love with the vanilla milkshake. Def recommend this spot.

I got the Black burger and curly fries. Yummy! Even better? This place has Coke Zero which solidified its 5 star rating. Friendly and quick service. Will be back next time I'm in the area.

Glad this place exists for when I have a hankering for a good burger. Burgers are made to order juicy goodness; curly fries are crispy crunchy bringers of joy; service is friendly and quick. Limited seating indoors, a bit of seating outdoors; no frills burger joint for a solid burger. Their slogan is true: once you go black, you never go back! I'll be back!

Swiss Burger with an egg and avocado

Ordered delivery for lunch at the office. Food came quick and properly labeled (a bunch of us got different things). I got the Swiss burger with an extra patty, then added an egg and avocado. My coworkers and I all loved our meals. The patty itself was juicy and well-seasoned. Will be ordering again!

My go-to burger joint when I'm at work. While a little pricey, (I paid about $35 for two combos), it is hands down one of the best burgers in the area. Curly fries are crispy and flavorful. Limited seating but it wasn't a problem.

Great burger spot! Came here for a quick bite with a friend and got the Swiss Burger with some Curly Fries. Both the burger and fries were great! The two guys working the front were really funny and were really generous with the portion of fries they gave us. Glad I got to try this place out!

Great burger, good shake, fries look better than they are. As another reviewer said, the fries have too much batter.

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

He was constantly busy zippin around but maintained a nice demeanor and made everyone feel welcome! Must orders of mine: the burger! Although small, it comes out piping hot and the fresh white onion between the bottom bun and burger is awesome because it doesn't make the bottom bun soggy and catches all the juices from the actual meat. Love subbing the fries for a Caesar salad! Standout appetizer is the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki-- crispy, hot, juicy and I get it every time!

It featured a crispy, sugar-glazed exterior and a soft, chewy interior, topped with truffle cheese and served with a truffle butter dip; the pairing was superb, and it tasted great both on its own and with the dip. For the main course, I ordered the miso-glazed black cod. The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? After finishing the fish, I was left with a plate full of broth, rendering the plate unusable. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

The Thick Cut Bacon (8.5/10) was sweet, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Cheeseburger (7.5/10) tasted good, but the bun was too dry, dense, and oversized for the burger. The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10).
