Something has happened. I loved this place but it has changed. The fish was under seasoned, my fries were cold and they ran out of bread. When I went back to the counter to ask about the bread they offered me 4 packs of crackers. They no longer serve the creamed corn but instead serve oily flavorless corn on the cob. I eat crawfish 2-3 times a week. I pass by here a lot and decided to try this place. First off the young lady behind the counter was very unwelcoming and very rude. Almost made me want to just say nevermind and walk back out. So after I ordered, I sat and waited...and waited... then walks in about 7 loud, wet (from the pool), young adults or teenagers. Obvious they were friends to to the staff. They ordered, then started leaning over the counter yelling in the back of the kitchen to their friends, talking loud, etc. There were 6 staff members in all...2 in the back cooking, 3 in the front, and 1 in the dining area eating assuming she was on lunch. Besides the rude cashier, the other two were engaging with their friends who came in from the pool. Myself and about 3 other patron were waiting impatiently because we were just ready to get out. After about 25 minutes I asked if my order was ready (as so did 4 other people). The employee just went to the back and took so long, I sat down. The group of young adults received their orders fast and was back and forth from asking for a variety of sauces which I am pretty sure they did not purchase. After about 35 minutes, I approach the counter. A lady who had been there after me was very frustrated from waiting and instead of the employee understanding, she caught an attitude. I then asked for my order and the lady had the nerves to ask me,"What did you order again?" What also baffled me was that another patron came in and stated that he ordered sweet potato fried and received regular fries. The employee says, "Oh, they didn't call you and tell you that we didn't have no more sweet potato fries?" After 40 minutes, I received my food. TWO POUNDS of crawfish!! They are very rude. I got here at 9:15 and was initially supposed to eat there but ended up having to leave because they put our food in a to go bag after we told them it was for here. Had the ez-peel shrimp with garlic butter sauce added corn and potato.... the sauce was mild but good ... the shrimp were medium sized but I ordered 2 pounds so I had more than enough!!! Two young girls at the counter who couldn't stay off the phone and acted bothered when we needed something. One of them actually took her break with a line full of people. And ETIQUETTE classes. I understand that they recently opened but at the same time GET IT TOGETHER. I read the reviews before coming here and decided to go because half was positive and the other half was negative...I should have took the advice from the negative reviews. THEY ARE SLOW, UNPROFESSIONAL, THEY FORGOT TO GIVE ME MY FOOD AND THEY ARE UNAPOLOGETIC. I can't completely give an opinion on the food because they forgot half of my order. After waiting 40 minutes for my food that I called in...you would think that everything would be correct...NOT! Oh let's not forget they didn't even give utensils and napkins. I only gave one star based off I've regularly eaten at the Missouri City location. I waited one hour on two fried orders....the wait isn't based on the demand, it's poor customer service and fulfilling orders. There's no way customers who ordered twenty minutes after should receive orders prior to those waiting. Definitely not well managed...you see the confusion in the employees eyes as they watch patrons become impatient and ask for their receipts then attempt to quickly fill delayed orders. Don't bother calling as they suggest....you will still wait or stay on hold the entire drive there as I did only to have to order inside anyway. Being in Pearland means nothing....avoid until they learn how to place orders in chronological order or just manage a kitchen period. read more

If you enjoy good food at reasonable prices served by friendly, competent staff...then you'll want to avoid this detestable failure of an establishment at all costs! We stopped in for our first time, and thought the place smelled great. We ordered two individual combos (allegedly served with two dipping sauces, a side, and toast). I got the chicken tenders with creamed corn, and my partner ordered the boudin balls with dirty rice. When our orders were called, we had to ask to be given sauce, and were told at that point that they were OUT OF TOAST. I'm not sure who pretends to manage this store, but wouldn't you think you'd encourage your staff to inform paying customers of a lack of one of the specific components of the meal BEFORE paying? We were offered no alternatives, no explanation, and the arrogant teen boy who could care less decided to take a break without telling anyone (which we found out later when his staff members were wondering why he was sitting down eating his WHATABURGER IN THE RESTAURANT). Nice marketing, 7Spice. Everything was so unnecessarily spicy. Like, they just tossed in a handful of random things that never added to the flavors of the items. The dirty rice was so dry, it certainly seemed like a box mix. The creamed corn was just canned corn in a watery dairy product I would never call "cream." The boudin balls were ok, but were 90% mushy rice. The chicken tenders were quite delicious, actually. Almost every order made while we were there came out wrong. Seems like the only thing these guys know how to do is apologize for their failures. Definitely won't be back, and certainly hope you don't make the awful mistake I did in stopping in. The first time I went to 7spice 07/04 I ordered the boiled shrimp with corn, potatoes, and sausage. It was really good and had a nice flavor. Just like the other reviews stated, it is very chaotic, which I think it has to do with being a new restaurant and teenagers still trying to learn and take orders. The reason I gave this restaurant 1 star was because of my second visit 07/12. This time I tried their gumbo (large) which I recommend not to order. It was still hectic when I went to pick up my order. When I got home the gumbo smelled good but when I looked at it it was super greasy. I just looked passed all the grease (my fault) and ate it. It didn't have any flavor. I ate about half of it and couldn't eat anymore more. About 2 hours later I became sick and was throwing up the gumbo all night. I don't know if it was a bad batch or old gumbo but I will not be eating here anymore. read more

So I ordered the 2pc fish with 9 shrimp with a side of red beans and rice. The fish was too thin for my liking so I'll never order that again. It was fried too hard for it to be so thin. The red beans and rice had a smell to it. I kept saying thinking I know this smell from somewhere. At first I was thinking it was oregano but of course I did not have any silverware to try it. (Go figure. I ordered carry out.) Silverware wasn't the only thing forgotten. My garlic bread/toast was also missing in action. I ate the shrimp. Good but not great. Finally I tried the red beans and rice....Remember that smell I was telling you about earlier? That's the smell of my sisters cooking. The beans were BURNT!!! I knew I recognized that smell-I just couldn't place where I knew it from. Once I tried the beans and tasted the burnt beans I knew exactly what it was. I'm not talking about burnt tasting. I mean it was actually burnt. BUT, I did like the smell of the overall restaurant. It smelled like they're probably better known for their boiled seafood. The food here is really good! Great flavor on the peel and eat shrimp, but the customer service is horrendous! Rude and very unprofessional employees who have no idea that service is very important to an establishment. I don't ever write reviews because I'm in the industry as well. I can chalk up bad service to an employee having a bad day, but the 3 times I've been in there it has only gotten worse by all the the employees I've encountered. From the attitudes of the cashiers to the person answering the phone by just saying "name?", as well as the food runner handing out food. This place has to get better or it will not survive. The food is great. I particularly love the fried catfish. The only complaint i have is the staff. I have been a few times and it seems to depend on who is working that day. While ordering I was asked what sauce I wanted but when given the food there was not any. I understand that sometimes people forget but it was not busy. Also, when I asked for the sauce she had an attitude as if I was asking her to go beyond her job description. This was repeated when my friend's order came out without any sauce as well. I've been here several times within the last two months. I have always had a good experience. However, Today New Years Eve my order is mysteriously lost or not received. I received a confirmation email with my pickup time and the right location. Yet when I get there the three people working in front are clearly oblivious or just so ready to go home that they can't focus to find my order or place a new order for me. So now 40 mins after my original pickup time I am waiting on my order. By this time they are closed and I am waiting an additional 15 minutes because the manager just took my order 5 minutes before they closed. The manager did however apologize as he says he informed one of the three people in the front to take my order again before they closed. Yet all they did for 20 minutes was stand there and do nothing but ask me how to spell my name 3x. Not to mention the snow grab was over cooked when I got it. Let me start off by referencing that the food is pretty good. However, the customer service experience is horrible at this Pearland location. This last time was the final straw. I walk in to the location after I placed an online order and a young lady has tissue hanging from her nose while she is working the register. Which, I believe is super unsanitary. Then as I waited on my food two employees are huddle around the cash register eating while customers are coming in and out of this store. Lastly I had to ask them to check and see if my food was ready. And to add insult to injury my food been ready and it was right behind them. Now when I first walked in I was like ok here we go 3 people at the counter and nobody acknowledges customers but look me dead in the face...I do better driving all the way to Missouri city where I used to live where we are greeted soon as we walk up even if it's to Say "give us a minute ma'am!" So this was some new BS in Pearland. So after a good minute...the 2 girls walk off then Richard steps up and his kindness and pleasant smile with his braces says something and makes me laugh. He was so accommodating and for that I'll return. I would give 5 stars but customer service is key...PERIOD. People on their best behavior when somebody looking but soon as the boss is gone... we can slack but wonder why customers have attitudes. As a mother of 4 boys it was a pleasure to see this young man doing a better job than the grown ups. My daughter brought home some of your food and it was very tasty! I decided today to get dinner for the the family, some shrimp and such. Well, the 52 minute wait was disappointing to say the least. Sitting there watching the line form after my order and 1 in 3 customers walking out because of the delay. One person at the counter during dinner time at 6pm and "the manager" sitting at a back table the whole time while this happened. The bright spot was this young lady in charge, an African- American girl around 20, (I think Morgan) that was handling everything like a true manager, even though it was a hopeless plan. This young lady's effort was what made me not request a full refund. I may or may not be back, but one thing for sure is that if management is just sitting in the back on a laptop and customers are walking, what is his job then.
