Unfortunately I didn't take any photos because the food was too good to stop myself for the photo op. My husband and I were beyond delighted by the choices. It was ALMOST too much... ALMOST. We got a short chicken parm and added hot pepper relish. It was insanely delicious, a beautiful chunky marinara sauce coated a crispy chicken breast. And just wow! We also tried the Cuban sandwich as a shortie board as well. The shorties were served between 2 beautiful thick slices of toasted buttery French bread. The Cuban had all the right flavor notes, the pickles, the spicy mustard, ham and Swiss did NOT disappoint at all! We also had the Maverick, which was a roast beef with a decadent creamy horseradish sauce. And the bread had a beautiful crispness to it so that nothing was soggy. (Nothing I hate more than a soggy sandwich/sub!) BECAUSE there were too many delicious choices we also ordered a crabby cheese fry. And goodness me! It was righteous! I've paid $16/17 dollars for crabby fries that were beyond depressing. I wouldn't blink twice about any of the prices here. The portions were generous. Prices so reasonable! They greeted me and helped me decide on a sandwich. There was a small issue with my first option, but they quick to apologize and accommodate me. BUT, it was my mistake, not theirs. Fries - These are the best "plain" fries I have ever had. They were served piping hot and ultra fresh. The fries were so hot, I felt the heat through 2 bags! They were uniformly cut to perfection (shoestring) and to a light crisp with just enough salt to enhance. They serve the fries with salt...and not salt with fries. Sandwich - The Godfather was absolutely divine. All of the meats were thinly sliced, fresh and plentiful. The bread was nice and crusty on the outside and perfectly pillowy on the inside. The food is good but they've become cheap. They use to add a pickle slice or a cookie per order, and had route 1 chips offered in the store, now it's just generic utz and no extra pickle or cookie. Unfortunately this place has HORRIBLE service. VILE even. Blonde woman with glasses at the front (4:30pm 6/13/24) berates me (the only black woman) in front of people dining in. I simply asked for my fried food to be put in a ventilated container so it is not inedible by the time I reached my destination. (This was a to go order). She proceeded to raise her voice saying " I can only give you a salad container". I ask if she can poke holes in it and she goes off on me. "DO YOU WANT IT OR NOT?? I am busy" I said respectfully ma'am keep it. The food is good this was my second visit. The service however is soooo terrible I will not be back. Prices are reasonable, the bottle of soda was not overly priced for a restaurant. Though I do prefer fountain soda and free refills. The cream of crab soup was thick & creamy, served hot, with a good portion size and very good flavor. The lamb burger was moist and flavorful and of a good portion size. I really like the food at this place. That has never been a problem and I eat here often. Today I called in my order. 1 Cuban and 1 Dr. Seuss Club with two bags of chips. 15 minutes later my husband arrives to pick up. He walks in and they ask if they can help him. He gave the name and said he was there for pick up. They told him it was almost ready it would be about 5 minutes. 10 minutes later they bring him a bag with one sandwich and two bags of chips. They told him "Sorry, we are out of Pork". You need to pick another sandwich because we couldn't make the Cuban. My husband was frustrated, but tried to be understanding. He asked for a menu... and they told him they were all out of those as well. He decides to just pay and leave. My favorite part of the little cookie wrapped in sandwich was missing. Stopped in to try the additions to the menu, skimboards. Have always gone here for a great steak and cheese which they serve on the best sub roll, but this time it was time for a skimboard. Basically a pizza but I got the Ratatouille which was covered with roasted veggies and cheese on a great crust. Slightly crispy and puffed up around the edges. They have two sizes and the larger was enough for me to take home and have for breakfast the next day. Worth a stop in. They have recently added a full bar and have specials, like happy hour all day,$5 margaritas. It's a local place in Frederick with great salads and the sandwiches are awesome as well. My toddlers ate some of the kids' quesadilla and fries (very generous portion for kids 2 and under) but really, they enjoyed the potato chips they have on sale. The fried onion appetizer was crispy and tasty! My husband's sub was warm and soft and pretty filled with toppings so it was a filling meal. My Greek salad was average compared to other salads and I wish the chicken breast was warm and not chilled. The marinated cucumbers in the salad were probably the best part to it. So the 7th Street Sandwich Shop can have my second :) the food here is delicious, the service is very good, and the shop is so cute. The sandwiches here are to die for. I've now tried the Cowbunga, Rachel (it's open face, but you can get it closed too) and New York style pastrami. All of which are all delicious. They have a lot of unique sandwiches but also the classics. Not only do they have sandwiches but burgers and all kinds of fries as well. They get packed at lunch time, so definitely go in a little early or give yourself some extra time. The only complaint I have about this place is that it is freezing in the winter. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a sandwich and could barely stand to sit inside it was so cold! Noooowwww if they could be warm and cozy inside they would be perfect! Great little sandwich place in the Safeway plaza. There's no sign for it and the outside just says "carry out" and is next to CVS. The inside is decorated with a beach hut with hand painted sea creatures, it's clean and overall inviting. There are so many sandwich options that it was hard to choose so we just went for the most popular, the godfather which is an Italian and the maverick which is roast beef with cheddar. Both were good and huge, I think they were the long boards. I'd definitely come back to try other sandwiches! We also got the onion leashes which are onion strings and they were good as well; I really liked the dipping sauce they came with, which also happens to be really good on the sandwich. We got the large to share between 2 of us but it was huge and enough for 4...definitely get the small if you have less than 4 people.
