Create a Bowl Mirchi Masala Fries Mango Lassi

I love coming to Hinzi's Kitchen because it is a great lunch or dinner spot. I usually eat here during my lunch time and the food is always hot and delish. My fave is the bowl and this last time I created a bowl with chicken and gyro. The mango lasso never disappoints and the fries are always nice and hot. I'll be back for sure.

Hinzi's kitchen is a hidden gem! I found it on Google maps and decided to stop by with my husband for a quick lunch when we were in the area. It's so cute and cozy inside. It actually looks like a cafe. I love the furniture and decor. It seems like a great place to study (not sure if they have wi-fi though) or catch up with a friend over yummy Pakistani food. The service is good here. The person who took my order was friendly and was glad to answer my questions about the menu. I ordered the paneer tikka masala kati wrap. It was flavorful and filling. I also ordered the masala chai which was SOO good! Perfect drink during cold weather. The masala fries were disappointing though because they came out kind of soggy. The flavor was good though.

Little place with lots of menu items! Ordered the samosa chaat which was yummy - but the Rasmalai dessert was seriously SO amazing (we didn't even get a picture of it, ate it too fast!!) great service, polite staff and small but clean seating area!

Expectations: To try something new... never had Pakistani food before- and something casual but sit down. The service: excellent customer service. They walked us through the traditional dishes like chicken biryani (on weekends) and a sandwich that I like.a Pakistani gyro. We had no idea what to order so the explanation helped. I do think a picture menu would be helpful. The Food: both my husband and I cannot wait to return. Both dishes mentioned above were flavorful and actually complimented each other nicely! We just kept sharing and neither of us could decide which was better! The place is small- it is inside the previous Boxcar Burgers joint- - probably has ten tables - if that. However- I think any of the food we had would be excellent for take out as well. The place is adorable inside though. Desserts too! They had a counter with cupcakes and mini desserts. We tried the Biscoff Mouse. It was light and airy and not overly sweet. A perfect ending to a perfect lunch! I'm excited to have this in Frederick.

This place was okay. The vibe is very casual and the service is pretty fast so it's great for a casual meal or meet up. However the food was below average imo. The wrap didn't have much flavor and the bowl had too much sauce in it. I got the bowl with greens only and there was barely any lettuce in there...not a salad at all. The Chana was pretty good in the samosa chaat though!

Honestly I would love to leave 5 stars because they're usually on point. But, they have started cutting back on quality. I usually get the butter chicken pizza which never disappoints, but the last one I ordered was half the size that they normally are. They have started making much smaller portions but charge the same. It's super disappointing because this was one of my favorite restaurant in the Frederick area.

I wanted to try something different so I grabbed takeout from this new Pakistani restaurant! I tried the Samosa Chaat and Aloo Tikki Roll. It came with a couple dipping sauces including a mint chutney. The Samosa Chaat was my favorite! The sweet tangy tamarind flavor balanced out the savory mint chutney and other toppings made for a great dish! The crunch of the samosa was perfectly complimented by the soft chickpeas and other toppings. The Aloo Tikki was something I had never tried before and it was good but maybe not my favorite as the spice combination was different than what I am used to, but I'm glad I tried it and the homemade paratha was delicious! The staff was super nice and friendly! Online ordering was super easy and pick-up was seamless. It was decorated super cute and I would recommend to eat-in if you can.

To me, I think all halal restaurants are kind of one and the same, but I do like the quality of the food. Could use bigger portions.

Parking is not too bad but be aware that it can get busy due to DD, Lantern Sushi & Roy's are nearby. They notified my hubby that they needed 5 more minutes to get all our order cooked, and put together. Minor comment- though I like the flavor both green and tamarind sauces were a little thin. I like a thicker sauce for dipping. Also the fries though well-seasoned could be crunchier. Still highly recommend trying them out. I have two more meals from my platter.

Everything on the menu is packing a fairly hefty punch of flavor, and the servings are generous. There was a short line when I arrived, but the counter-style service moved pretty quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Sometimes counter-style is surly and brusque; not here. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you get all the toppings you might enjoy. As a first-time customer, I appreciated that. The shop itself is small with some seating but nobody was dining in; this was not because it's not popular (see the aforementioned line), I think they're just primarily geared towards takeout. I'll definitely be back, especially if I'm in the neighborhood anyway.

I was blown away by the quality of the food. This is truly gourmet level. I have searched high and low for the perfect steak sandwich, including super pricey steakhouses, and always felt like something was missing. Well Matto-Press is twice as good as any $30 steak sandwich I've ever had. The meat is unbelievably tender, the cheese is high end and the flavors of the pickled vegetables and made-from-scratch sauces are out of this world. After I had stuffed myself with steak sandwiches 2 nights in a row (yes I followed them to another location the next day because I had to have more lol), I decided to try the planter rice bowl, which happens to be vegan. I'm not vegan and don't go seeking vegan meals but I do like to eat a ton of veggies so this was right up my alley. Ummmm do yourself a favor and get the bowl with potatoes rather than rice. The potatoes have a ton of flavor, as do the veggies. And it's soooooo filling. This is absolutely some of the best food I have had in Frederick and Frederick has a lot of great food and I've probably tried all of it :). Thank you Matt and team for delivering such high quality deliciousness to us food lovers!

The Dip Sampler and the Meat Sampler are standouts. The Dip Sampler has a variety of yummy dips and warm pita. Hummus can vary a lot in different restaurants, and this one is good, creamy with not too much garlic. We both enjoyed the Meat Sampler at our first dinner and took home leftovers - nice variety of meats. It comes with a good basmati rice but you can also choose a salad or French Fries. Gotta love a place that offers you both! This visit, I had the Moussaka Entree (gluten free) which was a special that night. It was tasty with no spice that overwhelmed the dish. Nice size slice with a salad with tomatoes. My husband had the Chicken Kebob which came with three skewers of chicken and salad (instead of the French Fries). We both took some food home especially after the Dip Sampler. We arrived around 5 pm and got the benefit of the Happy Hour price of $2 off a draft beer ($6 instead of $8) and $1 off the martini. The baklava has a generous supply of nuts, and I have enjoyed the Baklava Cheesecake at home for dessert. The restaurant decor is relaxing and attractive with thoughtful touches like a little table for your purse or to put your leftover containers on. The metal artwork tree, wicker lamps and paintings on the wall contribute to the cozy ambiance. Service has been prompt with someone coming over to greet us quickly. For my espresso martini, they had run out of espresso, but someone went to buy espresso from a coffee shop instead of telling me to order something else. Aleko's is a lovely, neighborhood gem. It is also on Resy for reservations.

TLDR: Hot food on a cold night. Oompah!…read more I used to stop for takeout at Aleko's old location in a gas station when I refereed games at the local high school. Great food, great value. But 6 weeks ago they moved to a full sit-down restaurant a mile and a half away. With my wife off at a community group dinner, I thought I would see how the new place stacked up. The inside was bright and warm, tables and chairs were comfortable, and very quiet even though almost every table was in use. These days this is a rare but well-appreciated thing; my old ears approved. I was quickly seated and handed a menu and wine list. Wine list contained quite a few Greek wines and beers. I like reds that are, well, a bit rough so I went with one recommended by the waiter. Good choice. Good choice! The food menu contained all of my old favorites. No fancy Greek/Asian/Inuit fusion here, thank Zeus! I was getting ready to order the gyro platter when the owner casually mentioned that lamb shanks with roasted potatoes were the night's special. Score! My food was delivered very, very quickly, and it exceeded my expectations. Lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, well seasoned, and covered with a simple Greek tomato sauce. Potatoes were well cooked (but not as crispy as I usually like), but their feta and olive oil sauce was superb. Beautiful fluffy rice and a simple salad of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, feta and a light vinaigrette were also included. Everything was delicious! Overall, servings were generous and prices were reasonable. And yes, they still offer carry out, something to keep in mind the next time I drive through Middletown on my way anywhere. And even if I'm not driving through, Aleko's is worth the trip all by itself.
