We walked around the corner from our place in Chelsea to try 7th St. Burger. We ordered a double cheeseburger and fries to share and it was ready almost immediately. The burger was tasty but quite greasy. So much so that the meat was kinda sliding out of the bun making it a bit difficult to handle. Not truly remarkable but pretty solid. The special sauce we asked for on the side was basically thousand island and just fine. The fries were on point. Crisp and piping hot. We're glad we tried 7th St. Burger but likely won't be back. Service was friendly but seating was very limited. Several people who had finished their food were just camping out looking at their phones. We had to stand at the only remaining table by the door. 7th St is good for what you're getting. Great sauce. Fresh soft buns. Generous amount of fries. Historically you get 7th St after a late night outing of drinking and play, but today I got it in the afternoon and it was just as good sober as it is drunk. I had a plain burger with no cheese but all the toppings. No fries either. I was able to eat it inside at a counter standing up. The burger was greasy and considered the finest among all the competitors. Pricing of the food isn't too bad. It was only $16 and in NYC that isn't bad. The fries, were alright, passable but not amazing. Now we get to the burger itself and my goodness this burger, even slightly small in stature was BIG in taste. It literally saved this review. The beef was tender, the potato bun that covered it was firm to the touch, the cheese, grilled onions and the house sauce...I don't know what's in that sauce but I want some more of it. Too much growth too quickly. I loved the original 7th Street Burger and was excited to see them doing well. I thought it was one of the best and most competitively priced smash burgers in the city, far and away better than chains like Five Guys etc. Well prices are up and quality is WAY down at their expansion locations. I think Chelsea is the newest and while the fries were pretty tasty the burger was straight-up bad, and they didn't put cheese on it (lol). The burger also looked like it had been run over by a car and then tossed in the Hudson River before being fished out which I would have given a pass on if I had gotten delivery but I picked it up. If you're looking for a burger on your cheat day in a casual ambiance then you found your place. They have vegetarian option, but other than that- not healthy for you in any way. We ordered double cheeseburger, single cheeseburger, two fries, and two drinks and it cost $30. That is pretty pricey if you ask me. Tasty food. Although, we picked the food up(there's no seating available) and walked to Madison square park a block away and ate the food there. Food came out in under 10 minutes, and employees were kind. I liked my meaty and cheesy double burger on potato bun with generous house sauce, which came out pretty quickly. They claim they use American cheese (which I don't like despite it's superior melt factor), but this tasted more like cheddar. The wrapper was damp with grease, not that there's anything wrong with that. If I could get extra pickle and chopped onions, or maybe a squirt of mustard, it'd be even better. The only thing else on the menu is fries- but you can order them loaded and ask for ghost pepper house sauce. Sadly, there's no room to eat there, and no diet soda options (just water and Mexican Coke), so plan accordingly. And, your wallet might not be super happy but your tummy will be. read more

I came to the 7th Street Burger in Chelsea for the Yelp Elite event last week. It was a little intimate spot where you can order your food to go. There is one table outside where you can eat. Food wise, they offered us free burgers, fries, and drinks for ourselves and a guest. The burger was flatter than I expected LOL but not sure if that's because it got smushed in transit.
