The East Village location tends to be a storefront size kind of space with limited seating and tables outside. I went on a Sunday so of course all the seats were taken up already. Understandable since it was the weekends. I mean, they never had much seating anyway to begin with. So, I took my food to go. There're always people crowding around on the sidewalk. Basically, it's a pretty popular spot on weekdays or the weekends....doesn't matter what time of the day is. Simple and straightforward menu of single/double cheeseburgers + single/double impossible (vegan) cheeseburgers + loaded beef fries + impossible loaded fries. Drink options are Mexican Coke + Mexican Sprite + Diet Coke + Coke Zero + Bottled Water. You can also get extra regular or spicy sauce for $1 more. All the cheeseburgers (whether regular or impossible) are stuffed with American cheese + grilled onions + sliced pickles + in-house sauce unless you have allergies and/or want substitutes upon request. Usually quick service from friendly staff, although they might take a while to come out with your burgers and fries if they're running behind schedule on the weekends. Please try to be patient waiting for your food and don't take it out on staff members. Overall, the double cheeseburger was a tad bit oily and soggy since it was prepared and cooked as smashburger-style. As you can see, the oiliness got seeped through the red-and-white checkered wrapper paper and its white paper bag too. The cheeseburger looked kinda on the smaller and flatter side for the $10 pricing. Its potato bun was soft and fluffy, although I preferred it to be more on the crunchy side. The fries were crispy as usual. Both were seasoned well and not overly salty. I slurped the Mexican Coke down my throat. Tasted quite cold and refreshing on a hot summer day. All the locations are usually pretty good to go to, some are definitely no frills operations. Also, some of the newer locations do have bathrooms now and are bigger than some other locations. This one I just got a cheeseburger but lately I go to more queens or now the Bronx location when I am in the mood for this true burger. read more

Even after the hype cooled, I still ordered a double from time to time. I'd go out West, eat In-N-Out, and confidently say, "Yeah... Shake Shack's still better." That was me. Then 7th Street Burger happened--and Shake Shack quietly exited the conversation. This burger hits my exact preferred texture. They use Martin's potato buns (a major plus), but it's more than that. Something about the way the bun, patty, cheese, and onions come together feels different. Some people say it's too melty. That's precisely why I love it. There are no distinct layers. No structure to analyze. It's one unified bite. Buttery. Deeply cheesy. Soft beef. The bun practically dissolves. Everything melts into itself. I could easily eat two--maybe three--double burgers without hesitation. I love richness, so I can do extra cheese... but I wouldn't recommend it. My wife struggled a bit (for good reason). I also appreciate that they only serve Mexican Coke. Small detail, great instinct. I've tried multiple locations, and the consistency is impressive. And yes--eating it in person is at least three times better than delivery. No contest. During our recent burger tour, we finally stopped by the original 7th Street location. I am a BIG burger girl and this was a top place on our list to try in the city. That said, the burger was GOOD! Would I say best burger we had in New York? No; however, it was juicy and full of flavor with melty cheese and delicious grilled onions, which is all you can really hope for in a smash burger. I stopped in here for lunch. I didn't realize this was more of a take out spot. They did have a small bench outside to sit and eat. I ordered a cheeseburger to go. I washed this down with a sprite in a glass bottle. Absolute luxury let me tell you. This was also a very affordable late-night bite, just under $10 for the burger and the drink. My wife ordered them without, and she loved hers too. They come out hot and greasy, with cheese melted all over it! Fries were good as well. It stays busy, but they keep the line moving. Meh, don't believe the hype. My teenage niece was visiting for summer break and has seen a bunch of TikToks on 7th St so she was dying to try it. It's been on my list too so we made it a priority for our time together. I had high hopes for 7th Street Burger but it left a lot to be desired. She got a single burger and fries. I got the double burger and fries. I'm gluten free so I can't eat bread. Unfortunately, they don't have gluten free buns nor do they have lettuce wraps. This is quite disappointing especially given the growing population of people who have celiac or gluten issues. Anywho, we got our food and I noticed my two bunless patties were missing sauce so I went to the counter to inform the person working the register. He said extra sauce is $1 and I'm like but I have no sauce. He said are you sure? As I'm looking at to patties with just cheese and onions. He finally gives me the sauce which was decent but nothing too special as the menu states. All in all, don't rush here if you haven't been. NYC has a ton of better burger spots. read more

7th Street Burger After attending a Yelp Event at a different location of 7th Street Burgers I've decided it's in my top three fast food burgers. Everything about this burger reminds me of the burgers when I was in high school only better. The fries were the taste and texture I remember from high school too. The fries are just the right amount of salt too. I love their special burger sauce. It's a business that keeps the menu simple and sticks to what they do best. I tried the double cheese burger but now I'm sticking to the single typically. The double burger was too much for me. The loaded fries are a meal by themselves. I get two or three sides of fries out of my loaded fries order. I'll definitely return but usually to the location close to home. All I can say is try 7th Street Burgers.
