Seriously, for a classic (impossible or regular) burger patty with McDonald's style pickles, melty cheese, and a buttery toasted bun, this is the best burger I've had around DC. The patties might not be huge, but the burgers pack the best flavor punch and the fries are the right level of salty and crispy. I stopped here on a recommendation from my daughter (Twin Foodie) and of course it was firing on all 8 cylinders. Wife got a single cheeseburger and I got the Jalapeno double, with ghost pepper sauce. The fries were GB&D (golden brown and delicious-see pics) and the burgers were juicy and delectable. The fries were some of the best I've had in a while, although they were a bit salty in my opinion. The burger was the star of the show--it was cooked to perfection. The cashier explained to me that the single burger was pretty small, and most people who order the single weren't usually satisfied. This is why I decided on the double. Hubby and I dropped in to check out the place - we ordered ahead on the app - SUPER easy and relatively intuitive! Walked to the counter on arrival, gave our names and picked up our food - EASY BUTTON! You grab your drinks out of the nearby fridge and grab a table (if available). We were lucky to have the place almost to ourselves when we arrived but it quickly filled up. Love the super casual atmosphere and uber-appreciate the tables having not only hand sanitizer but Lysol wipes as well. You don't get plates with your food so you're legit eating off the table (which is fine b/c you obviously have the burger wrapper). Menu is simple which I loved. Places like this usually do what they do WELL. If you've ever watched Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, one of the first things he does is to trim the menu down to a reasonable size, promoting quality over quantity. At this establishment you can get regular, jalapeño or impossible burger (single or double), fries (regular or loaded) and a beverage of choice (again, just off the counter in a couple of large coolers). We grabbed our table, gave it a quick wipe down and dove into our meals - mine was a double cheeseburger, regular fries and a Coke Zero. Husband got the loaded fries (that comes with a patty!). This was legit one of the best smash burgers I've ever had! Potato rolls used for "buns" were perfection! Super soft and not too big - I hate it when over 50% of your "burger" is just a big ole bun. Burgers were greasy and soft with a Burger King style dressing. So freaking tasty! Fries were fresh, well seasoned and crispy! Hubby's loaded fries were ridiculous in the best way possible -- they're essentially a chopped-up 100% all-beef patty, melted American cheese, savory grilled onions, and their signature house sauce. So freaking good! We weren't able to eat it all and grabbed another bag to bring home the leftovers. Huge kudos to the amazing staff! I love this burger spot! It's a no frills spot and it hits every time. The staff are always nice and friendly, no matter what time you go and how busy it is. They have a small menu yet has everything you need and even for vegetarians. I do wish they had Diet Coke or any diet soda as an option, but I guess a Coca Cola is nice to have every once in a while. Wow! To be very honest i came pretty hungry, traffic to come here was exhausting. Took me 48 minutes to drive to this spot... BUT. IT WAS SOOOO WORRRTH IT!!! My partner typically needs a boat load of condiments and we did ask for them, but they do not have them. Considering our initial reaction it was entirely understandable! Every bite was heavenly and as we both thought we weren't going to be full, we were 100% satisfied. I couldn't even finish my fries, but holy moly. I am so picky with burgers and there was no complaints at all!!! I don't even like pickles, but i whole heartedly finished every bite. I'm not vegetarian or vegan anymore, but i still love impossible burgers when I don't want to eat meat. 7th Street Burger is a satisfying option for burgers in the Georgetown area. I give it a high 3* pending a potential 4* after a future visit. I didn't get the smashburger texture or flavor I was expecting. I like a greasy burger because after all, is it really a smash burger if it is not greasy? However, I struggled to appreciate this one because the bun soaked up so much grease to the point there was virtually no texture contrast to the bite on the burger. An OK burger, just not a 4* or 5* on this visit. The Loaded Beef Fries were OK, but not a must-have. There is seating on the inside for dine-in and there is ample space between the front door and register to accommodate long lines. For the late-night munch option on an otherwise starving Wisconsin Ave and M Street corridor after hours, I think the value is on par. I'll visit again when in the area. read more

They also offer loaded fries topped with the beef from the burgers. You can get a vegetarian burger as well. Let's just say I was hooked after my first bite but could only get it if I was in the city. Lucky DC that we were their first location outside of the NY area. After lady luck provided us with a coveted parking space on P St., we made our way to the newest burger sensation in DC; 7th Street Burger. For the literalists out there, 7th Street Burger is nowhere near 7th St NW, NE, SW or SE. It is located near the intersection of Wisconsin and P St, NW. I just wanted to make sure we have this straight. 7th Street Burger comes to DC from NYC, where they have several locations. They are clearly intent on letting their burgers do their advertising, as the storefront is plain enough to walk right by without seeing it. Fortunately, we were looking for the address, so we didn't miss it. Upon entering the store, this simple and plain design continues. There is a counter in front of several busy grills, being manned by several busy employees, making dozens of perfectly cooked smashburgers. OK...you had me at smashburger. The service was quick, friendly and comes with lots of smiles. In DC, it is worth noting the level of smiles you get in an establishment. The food was ready after a short wait, delivered in a paper bag, piping hot and ready to enjoy. I have to observe that I was happy to see the use of paper products. However, all of the drinks come in plastic and glass bottles that end up being thrown away in the general trash. It seems like there could be a better solution, as glass actually gets recycled when properly disposed. I enjoyed a double cheeseburger and my wife had the single cheeseburger. We both loved our burgers, which were perfectly dressed with American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and house sauce, all perched on a Martin's potato bun. Pure heaven. Again, at 7th Street Burger, less is more. My wife commented that the amount of sauce was not overwhelming and actually complimented the entire burger. This is a damn good burger. The fries were hot with just the right amount of crispness and salt. They give you ketchup packets in the bag. If ketchup is your jam, ask for extra before leaving the counter. The burgers are as good as Five Guys, but markedly different in their simplicity. The beef is freshly ground and the buns perfectly compliment what's waiting inside.
