I used to go the old location and had no idea they had moved until I made an online order and the address was different. This new location is much better and super cute inside. It is like a real pub now, with a bar, big screens, pool table, etc. and it's big. I shared my cheesesteak with my sister. It was messy and the size of a small baby but it was pretty good. We did a spectacular job inhaling it, so it really wasn't around for long. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I forgot that they stopped making the porchetta sandwich and this is really the reason I was even going there. I had high hopes for this place but ended up being disappointed. I was in the mood for a good sub. Bubs and Pops had good reviews so I drove over. This place is near union market. Practically on the corner of New York and Florida ave. Parking is virtually non existent from what I could see. I sent my wife inside to order. We each got a Large Italian and I also added a Large "Rich Boy" which is essentially a po boy. I live about 15 minutes away so we drove home to eat. I started with the Rich Boy. The shrimp, SOGGY. The Bread, Hard. I ate half and gave the other half to my daughter. Terribly disappointed. I wanted to like this. They give you a lot of soft, soggy shrimp which takes away from an original po boy to me. Next up the Italian. I will say they give. Lot of meat. I also liked the cheese. The Hoagie relish unfortunately is a no go for me and really brings down the sandwich. I don't know what's in it but it's not for me. I tried scraping off the relish and it was too embedded in the sandwich at that point. The bread was also hard. 2nd half, in the trash. Overall, $60 for 3 sandwiches and my wife and I essentially ate 1 large, gave one half to our daughter and the rest went in the trash. This place isn't for us so we won't be back. Came here randomly because my friend wanted to try their sandwiches. We ordered: A beer - no real notes here it's a beer 2 shots and this mixed drink. I wish I could remember what this was actually called but it was tequila, strawberry and lime soda and it was so good ! Steak and cheese - 8/10 - the flavor was amazing but a bit on the salty side for me. I needed something to cut into the salty/savoriness so I ended up asking for a side of hot peppers. That didn't fix it but made it an easier finish for me. I don't know what kind of bread it was but it held up really well with the steak. I have slightly mixed feelings because the food was good but my body was wrecked the next day. I tried their Philly cheesesteak and the Hebrew Hammer. They offer both a small and a large, and I got both larges which may have been my first mistake. Those sandwiches were absolute units and stuffed to the brim. I'm obsessed with sesame bread they use for the sandwiches, and you can definitely tell they make them in-house with how fresh and fluffy it is. Between the 2 sandwiches, I like them for different reasons. However, I am very lactose intolerant so I could only have a few bites of the Philly cheesesteak but that may have played a crucial role in my demise the next day. Definitely add some hot peppers to this one! It was tender, savory, and the peppers added a slight kick to cut through the richness of the beef and cheese. After the sub that took over 30 mins I asked for an update, the bartender as well as the manager on duty Ebony was rude and told me not to order a baked sub if I "was in a rush," without apologizing for the delay. She went in the back and my came out a few minutes later, but I didn't trust the food with her energy being so combative and unprofessional. I asked for a refund, which Ebony also denied. I live in NoMa and have ordered cheesesteaks from here twice before, but the bread is not toasted, so the sandwich quickly gets soggy. There is no online option to request toasted bread, so I walked over (passing five sandwich shops) to B&P to place a takeout order. I inquired with the very polite hostess, and she thought that the option to have bread toasted was on the kiosk. But I told her it wasn't. She looked and could not find it. Then she spoke to another hostess, who told me the chef would probably not do it, but she would ask. So she goes in the back and asks the chef, and he refused to toast the bread. This is the insanity. How is a business that sells sandwiches - known for sandwiches - and you refuse to toast the bread? ‍ As basic as Subway is, they toast their bread. So I was going to proceed with the order, although the hostess was adamant that he would not toast the bread. So I asked if I could get the bread on the side. Then I thought about it, there are so many options within walking distance to entertain this foolishness at B&P. There was an establishment directly across the street, and as it is Thursday, at the African stand at the 3rd St farmers market, they toast their sandwich bread. The area is not lacking hoagie options. So I opted not to place an order at B&P, walked less than five minutes away, and ordered a DELICIOUS PoBoy with toasted bread at The District Fish Wife for $13. I live in a building in NoMa with 452 units and a very active tenant group chat. And now I'm gonna tell other people my experience.
