Always wanted to visit this place and finally got to this past weekend. Odd location but great space. They are by a homeless encampment but we didn't get bothered. Parking is kind of hard as they are on the corner of a one way street and a main street. Street parking is your only option. The space is beautiful. They have different art pieces and the walls are painted with colorful murals. Even the ground is a piece of art! So much to look at. They do take all safety precautions: they have you sign up on their ipad to acknowledge you have no symptoms, they have hand sanitizer available, and they take your temp before entering. The bar is open but the arcade games are locked up. The bathrooms are unisex, the urinal and toilet are separated by a door. It smelled clean which made me feel more comfortable. Plenty of long tables, bar tops and other seats. You can scan their menu and order from your phone and they'll bring out your order. I wish I visited prior to COVID, but nonetheless the staff were upbeat, music was jammin' and it was great to be outside enjoying the sunshine. I'll definitely be back. *BONUS: filipino owned too!

We absolutely loved the vibes here - staff was super friendly, people were hanging out enjoying drinks, and there was a cute market to shop at too. The outside and inside are both beautifully decorated (looking at you Kehlani)! The ordering process is cool; we scanned a QR code on our table and ordered and paid through our phones. There's very minimal waiter interaction. We also filled out a Covid safety form and had our temperatures taken before entering - we loved all the steps taken ensure everyone's safety! I ordered the garlic adobo wing box and the iced tea. The wings were good but a bit too salty. The iced tea unfortunately tasted like nothing (my friend who tried it also confirmed this) - it was essentially water. My friends got the fried chicken sandwich; they said the chicken was super moist and they liked the fries too. The food and drinks both took upwards of 40 minutes to arrive. Overall, I'd definitely come back to and enjoy the live music, market, and a drink!

You guys have got to book your next party here but after Covid. My friend had his 30th birthday here back in Feb and it was soooo DOPE! Granted this was way before covid happened but still an amazing time There are arcade games, Filipino food that can be catered for parties, A large enough dance floor and even a back yard for more of the larger venue seating. They have a good selection at the bar. I liked the beer selections the most. The only thing was the parking. It was a little hard to find parking around the area.

I have avoided writing this review because now y'all will certainly know where to find me. If you were wondering, this is my spot. Like my bar, where you can find me, it has literally all that I could want in a bar and I hope it never changes! It is dimly lit with statement but muted lighting, there's a stage some days and a chance to be the star of your own private audience every Wednesday for karaoke night. There's art/graffiti adorning the walls created by awesome local muralists and a rotating cocktail menu that truly cant be beat- last night I had such a warming spicy mezcal cocktail, in the summer I Live for a Manila Margarita There's rotating local chef that serve bites to perfectly compliment the drinks, I loooooove when Jeepney Guy is there and was truly sad to see him go from permanent cook to pop up there. Best part is this place is never dull, they have a bunch of video games and it's such a chill local vibe.

Came here again at night and the lights and DJ heighten the experience. the Adobo wings are the winner on the menu - sesame seeds on the brussel sprouts are different but the Lumpia portions feel small. Good meeting place for SF and Oakland folks to meet up or a place to start your evening before heading in to SF.

First time here and didn't know what to expect. This place is about a block away from west Oakland Bart. When you guys are coming here and parking please do not leave anything valuable in your car. I use to park around the area to bart to work and got my car broken into 3 times in one year. I don't think the growing homeless encampment around the area is helping either. If you are coming here with a party make sure to come early, they have you fill out a COVID questionnaire and take your temperature. The tables are spread out and you order through a QR code system. You can go inside to use the bathroom otherwise everything is order online. The ambiance here is great. It's also a good area for live bands and aspiring artists to perform. The menu that they had online and on google was different from what they were serving in their QR code menu. Maybe it's a simplified covid menu but I did not enjoy their food. It was quite bland. I ordered the lumpia, fries (they did not have sisig fries), and Filipino rice dish (the rice was regular steamed rice and not garlic rice). The Lumpia was ok, but it's not a show stopper. It didn't make me crave for more. I'm usually a big French fry person however these fries were just not good, they were thick fries and were mushy. The Rice and meat dish was a bit plain. I would come here to hang out and have a drink but I wouldn't come here to eat their food.

If you're near West Oakland, want Filipino food, or live music then this is the place to go! Surprised this place wasn't on my radar with my Filipino food fixes lately, but I'm so glad one of my friends took us out here over the weekend. When you pull up to the place via Uber/Lyft (they also have a small parking lot) it looks like a small place but once you enter (they have a bouncer) you are transported to a new place with high ceilings, space for a live band, full bar, and outdoor area with cornhole/large jenga. Can't forget to mention that they have arcade games lining the sides of this place and a change machine if you're feeling like playing a few rounds. We came around 7PM on a Friday night and we had no problem getting a table/ordering drinks but come 9PM this place gets popping. We opted for indoor seating since it's cold, but the outdoor area does have heat lamps and plenty of space that you wouldn't expect based on the exterior. The chicharron ($5), dirty tots ($10), and mochi nuggets ($10?) were superb and were great options to share with a group. The chicharron was the clear favorite at our table but the lechon on the perfectly crispy tots came a close second. They have lechon sauce, sweet chili, ketchup right near the window to the kitchen to the self-serve supplies. Cocktails are so so, but if you're really going for the Filipino experience they sell San Mig and Red Horse which is what we ended up getting a few round of.

Met some friends here for lunch. Some friends drove around 9 times to find parking. That's the only negative about this place , parking is horrible. We ordered the lechon , lumpia and tater tots. We loved our food. My friends ordered the chicken but don't know how that tasted like. The tater tots were yummy and crunchy. The lechon was crispy and well flavored. Will definitely come back here and try other stuff again.

Lumpia and Brisket Fries

The vibe here is really cool and unique. We ordered the Brisket fries and lumpia. The portion was large enough for 2 people. The pineapple crema was the MVP of this meal. I was surprised actually. The flavor was there but I think it would be cool if the layered the meat, beans and cream throughout the fries. Once we got to the bottom the fries were pretty dry. I do blame that on the fact that I love sauces (self proclaimed Sauce Queen) but that's neither here nor there. It's a cool place next to west Oakland Bart station.

We're all for supporting small business so we hope this place works out the kinks and does well. We may come back in a couple of months and give them another try. I'll update my review. It's located in a sketchy area. Google maps took us through a homeless encampment just down the street. The building itself didn't look appealing. It's a warehouse with a bar, pinball machines lining the walls and a DJ area. The back patio looks like a nice place to kick back in. Two stars because my husband loved the fresh chicharon - but that was it. For the price we paid for food, we expected more in quality. I've heard of the Jeepney Guy so I was excited to try the food. I didn't expect to be so disappointed. We came in for Silog Sunday - but they only had bacon silog at the time. The bacon was over done. I tried the vegan sisig and and I just don't know what to say. It was just a pile of onions. We both picked at it trying to figure out what the rest of it was. I couldn't get past the mound of ONIONS. Was there tofu in there? Mushrooms maybe? I was looking so forward to it, too. I ended up just eating the rice and the egg. Finally, dude helping out in there referred to the Giants manager as Chris Bochy?!?! I'm done! Lol

Onion rings that were cold and mushy inside
Antonella I.

My partner and I have been coming here for a year or so and we always loved it here however, yesterday was the first time we were super disappointed. They normally have Filipino fusion tapas available but I think for the weekend they were sponsoring a vegan pop-up. Our group was actually really excited to try the impossible burger so we ordered three with Cajun fries and onion rings. We waited over 35 mins for our food to show up and when it finally did, the fries and onion rings were cold and very sloppy looking with no sauce on the side. The burger did not look appetizing and it was very dry. This was the first time we also had to pay for water and if we wanted sauce to go with our fries or burgers we also had to pay extra for that. We ended up leaving right after we ate because the atmosphere was also not it for a Sunday afternoon. I hope yesterday was just a bad day for them but dam.

Is 7th West an all ages establishment (until a certain time)?

They're all ages until 9PM!

Yes

How's the parking here?

I went on a weeknight and didn't see any parking lot. After circling the block a number of times, I lucked out on a spot nearby. It's kind of close to BART so there's competition, but as the evening draws on I think more spots free up.

10 pm on Tuesday to Thursday 12 am on Friday and Saturday 10 pm on Sundays

Cover charge on Fridays?

Hey Irene, Most Fridays are free. Only when we have special events.

Yes! They have a special area outside for dogs too.

The music on the speakers get pretty loud in some parts of the space so its not the easiest to hold a conversation without raising your voice. Like most dive bars, you place your drink order at the bar and seat yourself. Food offerings vary depending on which establishment has their pop-up setup in the kitchen that evening. Be sure to check out their Instagram page to get the most up to date info on food. During our visit, Saap Saap Culture was serving up delicious fried chicken and egg rolls plates. As for drinks, my wife and I tried out two of their hot toddy's and we really enjoyed them -- absolutely perfect for the cold 40 degree winter weather outside. I also tried out their Modelo Chelada Michelada and ounce-wise, it was a ton of beer. Taste-wise, it was nothing special. The free pop-corn machine in the back was broken during our visit so we didn't have a chance to try it out. Overall, pretty chill dive bar that I wouldn't mind stopping by again. I like that they take card in addition to cash, and the bartender serving us during our visit was friendly. 3.5 rounded up to a 4.

And that is saying something because I never take pictures of bathrooms for reviews lol. The food is just as pretty as the decor. Every plate we ordered came out looking beautiful. The 4 stars is really because although the food looks pretty, I would say everything tastes okay, nothing really stood out particularly in taste. If this review was based on food tastes alone, and not looks, vibes, and the great show, it would've been 3 stars. The flautas were a bit too hard for me. Ive had way better flautas at El Torito's in San Leandro. Although there were only like 6 of us total in the audience for the show, it was still really enjoyable. The host, Tony Parker has great energy, and a lot of the comics (I think were like 5 or 6) had us laughing throughout. No one was safe lol. All in all, a really cute place for date night and comedy show. Apparently they have them Sunday-Thursday nights, and they're free!
