    Lumpia burger

This was exceptional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did not expect this from a tiny hole-in-the-wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lumpia burger was creative and tasty. This business deserves to thrive.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This family owned small business has earned my heart with top notch service, Reliable hours, and relaxing hospitality with a dope outdoor patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I plan on coming here with my whole family and coworkers.

I tried the turkey lumpia sliders with pineapple and it was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating area is also very cute and great for hanging out with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

On the way home to Alameda from an overnight trip, we were reminded how excited we had been to visit Thank Que Grill and that we had the time during spring break to visit! The food was delicious, we had the lumpia sliders and a fruit salad that was really yummy. The service was wonderful! We were offered something to try, were given recommendations, and they were nice enough to chat with us, recommending the marinated tofu in the future. Lastly, in the nicest gesture, they provided us a second fruit salad cup so my partner could try! Really worth a visit, especially for the delicious food, and wonderful customer service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have seating inside and an outdoor space that is welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Get their lumpia! Good size, super flavorful. Bowls were bomb. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out.

First of all thank you Rene too welcome us too his Restaurant. I consider this place a Hidden Gem you guys missing out a good Filipino food. Me and wife ordered there Famous chicken bowl and Sisig bowl plus 6 Lumpia, all the food is phenomenal, the chicken reminds me when I was in the Philippines it gives me nostalgic taste. The sisig is chefs kiss this is how sisig taste supposed too be very flavorful and the Lumpia are pack of protein inside the flavor is sooo good. Verdic 10/10 is a must try place and they have huge parking lot very convenient..

    Thank Que Bowl.

Date: 9/5/2024 Time: 1:05 PM 74° Sunny A shout out to Victor G and Jim D, two of my fellow yelpers. I would have never known about Thank Que Grill until I read their reviews. Thanks, Victor & Jim. I came here with somebody who I know is a Lyft driver. D. Broadnax treated me to lunch earlier because he and I knew some of the same people from two different high schools. Thank Que Grill is a hidden gem, a brick & mortar on Dennison Street, not far the cross street of Embarcadero E in Oakland. Depending on which direction one is headed to this destination, from Oakland it is a left turn on Dennison; from Alameda it is cross the Park Street Bridge, left on 23rd Avenue, continue straight ahead on E. 7th Street onward to Embarcadero E and right turn on Dennison. Service was attentive, but the wait time for lunch was about 15 minutes. At the time, the restaurant had an influx of restaurant patrons and ran out of chicken for the Thank Que Bowl. No problem, patience is a virtue. No drama here. Life is too short for drama. The chef needed to prepare the chicken. Our bowls were freshly prepared and quite enjoyable. We were also comp an order of Shanghai lumpia. The lumpias were on point, especially with my garlic vinegar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating capacity indoor is 18 people. Outdoor patio is more spacious and the ambiance is casual and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Based on my observation, there are 4 community tables with benches, 3 small tables with a pair of chairs and a long table with tall barstools. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great outdoor dining area for chillaxin' while enjoying lunch during the summer months.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only drawback I have, and it is not the restaurant's fault, is I don't drive and there is no public transportation nearby. I will return for a future visit. Finally, thanks to D. Broadnax for treating me to a wonderful lunch and for the laughs. I'm still laughing about them June birthdays. LOL.

Came in after work on a Thursday and this was my first time at this place . I think it was the owner and maybe his mom, but it was an elderly lady in the restaurant and they were both so welcoming and kind. I think it was the owner, but he was the one that made my food. He explained the menu in full detail and what made each meal special and how he added his own touch. He also gave me a sample of the chicken they use for the banh mi and banh mi bowl, it was delicious. I ended up getting the thank que bowl and the sisig garlic aioli fries. Both were made fresh and I was in and out within 15 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place has indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's kind of tucked away so I've never seen it before but the sign they put up I pass it every day after work so I wanted to try. Did not disappoint!! I feel like it's so hard to find Filipino food around Oakland with out having to drive down to San Leandro or all the way to Daly City. Hope this business gets the credit and exposure they deserve and thrive!! Will be back with friends next time :)

Cute little menu, good genuine food, warm family service.

Delicious food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Warm family vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I passed this place a lot on my way in and out of Alameda. O gave us a delicious sample.

Thank Que Grill is an amazing local restaurant, with an outstanding team behind its delicious food and great service. Chef Rene served as a guest speaker for my school club, the Business & Entrepreneurship Club. He shared his story and catered the event, serving his turkey lumpia and sliders. Everyone highly enjoyed the food he brought, with many people saying it was the best lumpia they've had! Chef Rene and his family were super kind and created a memorable experience for students in my club through his demonstration on how to wrap the perfect lumpia. Thank you so much to Chef Rene & family for an unforgettable event of valuable discussion and amazing food!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is one of those spots that really gives the local, homey vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Being filipino myself, I found that sort of connection to the menu even though there are differences from traditional methods. By saying that, the food speaks for itself and its delicious. The owner was really friendly and broke their menu down for us with even a history of how Thank Que Grill became what it is. We ordered the Sisig Fries, Lumpia, and Lumpia Sliders. Everything was made to order and piping hot once it was brought to the table. The sisig are infant-approved, especially the aioli thats laid on top of the fries. We didnt finish our food and took a good amount home as the food is on the heavier side but thats not necessarily a bad thing. Im coming here again in the future and trying their Chicken Banh Mi.

They were AWESOME! The fish was cooked perfect with a delicious batter, the chipotle sauce was spicy spicy but so flavorful, it was pleasant to eat. The tikka masala tacos were a complete surprise! In a great way. We expected something super saucy and messy, but they were not at all. We aren't sure how they got the perfect tikka masala flavor without a lot of sauce, but they killed it. Unfortunately, after my recent visit, I can honestly say it is not the same restaurant I fell in love with years ago. From the moment we walked in, everything felt cold. The atmosphere was cold, the service was cold, and the overall vibe was completely unwelcoming. Then came the food, which was the biggest disappointment of all. The dishes we ordered tasted nothing like the recipes I remember. I honestly found myself wondering if there are new owners because there is no way this is the same Monkey King from years ago. What made it even worse is that I chose this restaurant to celebrate my son's graduation. We waited around all day for them to open at 5 PM because I was excited to share a place that used to be one of my favorites. Instead, we left severely disappointed. Sadly, this visit was enough for me. I will never spend another dollar here, and that's something I never thought I would say about a restaurant I once loved so much. 1/5 Stars. What was once worth the drive is now a place I'll never return to. They also need to work on bringing all of your food to the table at once because in a very cold restaurant bringing out one dish at a time and it taking 20 minutes to bring out all of our food. Our food was cold by the time everything hit the table never again ever in life. Will I do this?

My only real critique is the setup there: everyone has to use the same community utensil/tongs to grab the green onions, which feels a bit unsanitary. A different dispensing setup would be a great upgrade. As for the customer service, it is what it is, but it was really cool to watch the chef working through the steam, freshly making the noodles right in front of you.

The decor gives a tropical vibe with lots of greenery and bistro lights. The food, which was amazing, came out quickly for the first 1/2 hour. Then as the place filled up, it took a while to get our dessert. So, if you're in a hurry, I suggest coming early. What we got: + Kids chicken wings - these are crispy wings and drums that have no sauce. The kids ate these up! + Angel wings - more chicken wings, but these are coated in chili sauce. + Curry puffs - these are fried pastry filled with curry potatoes. Kinda like a blend of samosa + empanada. + Phad ke Mao - flat noodles with veggies, chili sauce and basil. Optionally add protein. This was very delicious and one of my favorite dishes. + Broccoli stir-fry - you can optionally add protein. This was your typical broccoli beef (or other protein). + Yellow Curry (with chicken) - again protein is optional. This was really good. The curry was very flavorful with chunks of potatoes and sliced carrots. + Fried bananas and ice cream - the banana is deep fried with a light crispy coating. Was a nice way to end the meal. We enjoyed everything here, and best of all, the kids did too. A really nice family restaurant in a convenient location.

And each dish is only enough for 1 person and do keep in mind that ALL 3 of us are light eaters. So if you are an average or an above average eater, you will need to also order an appetizer, dessert, drink, etc. Ambiance - I think the 3rd or 4th Thai restaurant here, good luck. Small but a busy shared parking lot in the rear of the building. We were still able to get a space in the very back. Open 6 days a week, see websites or Yelp for specific hours. Closed Thursday. Service - Okay. Price - $51 + tip. $2 cash discount for our order; see picture. Slightly expensive for what we got. The waitress made a mistake when giving my change back, but once I brought it to her attention, it was an easy fix without hesitation. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since Jan of 2025.

We started with two plates of calamari for the table. They were fine--crispy enough, not bad at all--but nothing that made the table fall silent in amazement. Solid appetizer, just not the headliner. The real star of the night? The steak-wrapped mango. We ordered two plates and honestly could've ordered a third. Something about that sweet mango paired with savory steak just works. It's that sweet-meets-umami combo that makes you pause mid-bite and think, "Okay... that's actually really good." For my entrées I went a little wild and ordered both the steak clay pot and the salmon clay pot. I ate the steak there and took the salmon home for later. The steak clay pot was excellent--rich flavors, comforting, and exactly the kind of dish you want when you're sitting down with a big group and taking your time. The salmon clay pot, though, was just okay when I had it later. Maybe it's one of those dishes that really shines fresh out of the kitchen. Also, the portion felt a little small for the $20-ish price range. Where Dragon Rouge really pulls ahead is the setting. The views of the bay are great--you can see the bridge leading into Alameda, and it's apparently one that lifts for boats coming through. I didn't catch it opening while we were there, but even just watching the water and the lights around the bay added a cool vibe to the night. Another big plus: they were super accommodating for groups. We had a work dinner from surgery and they even let us bring in two cakes, which was really nice of them and made the whole night feel relaxed and celebratory. If I'm judging strictly on food, it's probably around a 3 out of 5. But add in the views, the group-friendly vibe, and the overall experience, and it easily climbs to a 4 out of 5. Great spot for big parties, work dinners, or just a relaxed night with a view of the bay. I'd definitely go back.

I wish they had some heat lamps as it can get cool at night. The staff were friendly and the decor was nice. The food was decidable mid for NorCal. Might be more what if have expected in the Midwest. The spices weren't that complex and recipes somewhat plain. With some better recipes and more attention paid to the food, this place could kick.
