    Turkey lumpia sliders

I tried the turkey lumpia sliders with pineapple and it was delicious. The outdoor seating area is also very cute and great for hanging out with friends.

Get their lumpia! Good size, super flavorful. Bowls were bomb. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out.

This was exceptional. I did not expect this from a tiny hole-in-the-wall. The lumpia burger was creative and tasty. This business deserves to thrive.

First of all thank you Rene too welcome us too his Restaurant. I consider this place a Hidden Gem you guys missing out a good Filipino food. Me and wife ordered there Famous chicken bowl and Sisig bowl plus 6 Lumpia, all the food is phenomenal, the chicken reminds me when I was in the Philippines it gives me nostalgic taste. The sisig is chefs kiss this is how sisig taste supposed too be very flavorful and the Lumpia are pack of protein inside the flavor is sooo good. Verdic 10/10 is a must try place and they have huge parking lot very convenient..

This family owned small business has earned my heart with top notch service, Reliable hours, and relaxing hospitality with a dope outdoor patio. I plan on coming here with my whole family and coworkers.

Date: 9/5/2024 Time: 1:05 PM 74° Sunny A shout out to Victor G and Jim D, two of my fellow yelpers. I would have never known about Thank Que Grill until I read their reviews. Thanks, Victor & Jim. I came here with somebody who I know is a Lyft driver. D. Broadnax treated me to lunch earlier because he and I knew some of the same people from two different high schools. Thank Que Grill is a hidden gem, a brick & mortar on Dennison Street, not far the cross street of Embarcadero E in Oakland. Depending on which direction one is headed to this destination, from Oakland it is a left turn on Dennison; from Alameda it is cross the Park Street Bridge, left on 23rd Avenue, continue straight ahead on E. 7th Street onward to Embarcadero E and right turn on Dennison. Service was attentive, but the wait time for lunch was about 15 minutes. At the time, the restaurant had an influx of restaurant patrons and ran out of chicken for the Thank Que Bowl. No problem, patience is a virtue. No drama here. Life is too short for drama. The chef needed to prepare the chicken. Our bowls were freshly prepared and quite enjoyable. We were also comp an order of Shanghai lumpia. The lumpias were on point, especially with my garlic vinegar. Seating capacity indoor is 18 people. Outdoor patio is more spacious and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. Based on my observation, there are 4 community tables with benches, 3 small tables with a pair of chairs and a long table with tall barstools. Great outdoor dining area for chillaxin' while enjoying lunch during the summer months. The only drawback I have, and it is not the restaurant's fault, is I don't drive and there is no public transportation nearby. I will return for a future visit. Finally, thanks to D. Broadnax for treating me to a wonderful lunch and for the laughs. I'm still laughing about them June birthdays. LOL.

Came in after work on a Thursday and this was my first time at this place . I think it was the owner and maybe his mom, but it was an elderly lady in the restaurant and they were both so welcoming and kind. I think it was the owner, but he was the one that made my food. He explained the menu in full detail and what made each meal special and how he added his own touch. He also gave me a sample of the chicken they use for the banh mi and banh mi bowl, it was delicious. I ended up getting the thank que bowl and the sisig garlic aioli fries. Both were made fresh and I was in and out within 15 minutes. This place has indoor and outdoor seating. It's kind of tucked away so I've never seen it before but the sign they put up I pass it every day after work so I wanted to try. Did not disappoint!! I feel like it's so hard to find Filipino food around Oakland with out having to drive down to San Leandro or all the way to Daly City. Hope this business gets the credit and exposure they deserve and thrive!! Will be back with friends next time :)

Cute little menu, good genuine food, warm family service.

Thank Que Grill is an amazing local restaurant, with an outstanding team behind its delicious food and great service. Chef Rene served as a guest speaker for my school club, the Business & Entrepreneurship Club. He shared his story and catered the event, serving his turkey lumpia and sliders. Everyone highly enjoyed the food he brought, with many people saying it was the best lumpia they've had! Chef Rene and his family were super kind and created a memorable experience for students in my club through his demonstration on how to wrap the perfect lumpia. Thank you so much to Chef Rene & family for an unforgettable event of valuable discussion and amazing food!

Please run and checkout this amazing fresh and fresh and fresh food! Now, if you know anything about this area you know that there's no food, fresh or otherwise, in this area off Embarcadero. I work around the corner and short of the hot dog cart on the corner, we out of luck, especially with the recent closing of Quinn's. Well, my colleague had the Rice bowl with chicken and Turkey lumpia while I had the ThankQue salad with BBQ.... Yes, BBQ tofu! Yum! Let's get into this salad. It was delicious. First of all the salad had cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, romaine, jalapeno, carrots, pickled salad, bean sprouts, and my God, the bbq tofu was so flavorful and well made, and I promise that homemade dressing was everything!!! Now, my colleague was thoroughly impressed, as I, with the grill on the patio where their signature bbq chicken as made. No complaints! These men were welcoming, happy and proud of their food, as well as offered samples of their bbq chicken. Good service, value, and a comfortable setting. That patio is the perfect escape from the city streets and stale offices.

Smoking Woods offer decent BBQ if you are craving for some smoked meat. Options include BBQ ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork, pork spareribs, etc. The meats do have some smoky flavor to them but in general, I found the meat a tad dry. The beef brisket was very dry; the pulled pork was better; and the pork spareribs were in the middle. The BBQ sauces were good and I would recommend the slightly spicy sauce over the original. Prices were reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised with the sides. The Brussel sprouts had a nice char, and mixed vegetables had a nice crunch. The potato salad was also tasty and the potatoes were not overcooked. The Mac and Cheese was OK. Was disappointed they did not offer fries as one of the side options. Smoking Woods has a nice sports bar and is fairly large to entertain groups, have drinks, and enjoy some smoked meats. Service was kind of slow. It was fairly empty when I was there but it still took a decent amount of time for the food to come out.

I ordered the Iga Saos Kacang ($30) and the 3-pc. lumpia ($12). The Iga Saos Kacang came with two ribs served on a banana leaf with sweet rice, pickled vegetables, and bumbu kacang (peanut sauce). I also ordered the soda gembira ($4). The food and drink came out at the same time, at about 5 minutes. The ribs were phenomenal. They were tender, smoky, and paired incredibly well with the peanut sauce. The sauce itself had a really nice sweetness to it, complementing the richness of the beef without overpowering it. One fascinating discovery I've made about Indonesian food is just how prominent sweetness can be. Rather than treating a sweet component like the coconut rice as something to eat on its own, you're often meant to combine everything together, creating a flavor bomb with every bite. That's what makes Fikscue's concept so interesting to me. Texas-style barbecue is already heavily focused on smoke, seasoning, and the quality of the meat, while Indonesian flavors can bring in sweetness, nuttiness, spice, and acidity. The Iga Saos Kacang showed how naturally those two styles can work together. The lumpias were nicely fried and surprisingly filling on their own! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who explained that the lumpias were a popular addition, with some customers ordering them by the dozens. They're filled with meat and vegetables and have a big, satisfying crunch. Just watch out for the oil! Coming from my own Vietnamese perspective, the soda gembira reminded me of Vietnamese soda sữa, minus the egg. Pandan and coconut flavors are familiar to me, but if you've never had pandan and coconut together, it's a wonderfully fragrant combination that's simultaneously creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The soda gembira was a particularly fun drink to have alongside the smoky, savory barbecue. Service was excellent as well. The staff were really nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Before it was my turn to order, I saw the staff engaging in Indonesian banter with the customers in front of me. It gave the restaurant a very warm, lived-in feeling that emulated the hospitality found in Indonesian culture. Fikscue is doing something genuinely unique by bringing together halal Texas-style barbecue and Indonesian cuisine. Add in the friendly service, and the long drive from the South Bay felt justified. If you're anywhere in the Bay Area and want to try something unique, Fikscue is worth the trip.

First of all, my order was TO-GO. And let me tell you... when I got home and opened that bag, I was honestly blown away. My food was packaged with so much care, precision, and pride--it was neat, organized, and handled like it actually mattered. That alone told me everything about the level of service in that building. Candalen--YOU DID THAT. The attention to detail on my plate did not go unnoticed. You treated my food like it was being served in-house, and that speaks volumes about your work ethic and pride in what you do. Aaron--listen... that peach lemon drop??? BABY. That was my first time trying one and it was EVERYTHING. Smooth, flavorful, perfectly balanced--you made that drink an experience all by itself. I will be back JUST for that. And let's talk about the vibe--the music, the energy, the atmosphere--it all came together in a way that made the entire visit feel GOOD. Not just food... a whole experience. But what really stands out is this: It has been a LONG time since I've experienced service this genuine, this intentional, and this excellent. Not rushed, not careless--EXCEPTIONAL. Management, if you are reading this--please understand--you have some powerful people on your team. Candalen and Aaron are the kind of employees that elevate a brand. They are the reason people come back. They are the reason I will be telling others. This wasn't just a good experience. This was the kind of experience that turns customers into loyal supporters. Finally, we were so excited to see it was open on a Saturday an we came in for lunch. To order you need to scan the QR code and pay plus tip before a single person spoke to us or offered us service. From the menu we saw they were out of beef ribs, smoked chicken, rib tips, no peach cobbler, no banana pudding and no kool aid. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.

Everett and Jones once had a location in Sacramento many years ago and I used to visit often. I loved their barbecue sauce and still buy it in stores when available. I had that in mind when telling my family, 'Let's go!" I was disappointed with the food when we arrived. The first thing I noticed when our food came out was that the barbecue sauce wasn't as thick as I remembered, it was very runny, it's didn't stick to the mean. I also saw a lot of fat on the ribs, but thought maybe the taste would be good, so we prayed and ate. Unfortunately, the ribs were fatty and tough to find good meat. I also tried the brisket, which was a little fatty but VERY good. I ordered mac and cheese and greens as sides, but didn't like either. The mac and cheese had a bit of charred cheese on top (which I love), but I wasn't impressed afterward. My friend's hot link had zero flavor, just texture, which was strange. I was embarrassed because I had bragged about how hot the links were! Sike! Everyone at the table enjoyed the sweet cornbread. We also loved the mango lemonade. The desserts were outstanding: caramel cake, key lime pie, and pecan sweet potato pie. I highly recommend those! I'd visit again but skip the ribs and links.
