We traveled over a half hour to get there and our whole party thought it was well worth it. I'd probably go on a weekend next time to save travel time, but we were all impressed. The unique combo of a full sized buffet with extra yummy food you can order in one all you can eat price was great. I've been to restaurants where it's all you can eat and you order fresh food and all you can eat buffets, but never one restaurant that has both options. We were amazed at the selection and can't wait to go back to try some of the other food you could order from the menu. There are far too many options we wanted to try to eat in one trip. The food was all delicious. They had smaller portions on this buffet than you normally see, which (along with the containers they used) seemed to keep the food very fresh. The decor is beautiful and the robot was such a fun touch. It delivered a mini birthday cake to a woman at a neighboring table, to go orders, and the check/fortune cookies. Every Easter, my friends and I go to a buffet to stuff our faces and this year we went to 8 Star Cuisine up in Gibsonia! The inside is pretty big and there's large tables that are good for groups. I did make a reservation online ahead of time. It's surprisingly nice and upscale inside for a buffet. They have a huge variety of options including dim sum, American Chinese food, Chinese food, sushi, and hibachi! You order the sushi and hibachi from your server at your table and the rest you can get on your own. We were happy with the variety and quality and I would go again! Wow! This AYCE buffet is incredible - dim sum/Chinese/sushi/seafood - it's crazy the variety and the quality of the food was so great. Plus they had snow crab legs - sooo good! Inside is beautiful and clean and so big. When my trusty sidekick said let's go on a food adventure all I could say was ok! Driving to find the place WAS an adventure - when we ended up in a strange looking lost in time strip mall I was worried but when we got in there and saw the food - blown away! You could order food (apps/specialty sushi rolls/hibachi) from a menu (included in price) and stroll the endless options in the buffet. Standouts for me - snow crab legs, steamed turbot fish which melted in your mouth, shrimp in lobster sauce, salt & pepper shrimp. End your meal with the sugar donuts and pro tip - make your own donut ice cream sandwich with the amazing options of ice cream - strawberry was my fave - this was "invented" by my trusty sidekick :-) The only thing I would say was I wish they had melted butter available for the crab legs. 5 stars for our first visit to 8 Star Cuisine. It's been a while since we have had an all you can eat Chinese buffet in the area and we were anxious to try this one. We came on a Sunday around 2 PM and it was not busy at all so we were seated promptly and had plenty of time to explore all of the options. They have tons of different types of food, including some very authentic Chinese dishes, and they also have sushi that you order from a menu so it is fresh made (although they do have a few sushi offerings out on the buffet too). I also offer some traditional dim sum items. They try to keep the food fresh here by not cooking, massive quantities, they cook, smaller quantities and check frequently to be sure that the warming platters are full. It is a little bit pricey for some people, since dinner & weekend is $39.95. But for that price you do get whole crabs or crab legs & an entire menu of sushi rolls, sashimi & hibachi entrees plus the all you can eat buffet items. It is $1.99 extra for soda with free refills. They also have bubble tea for $3.95. The restaurant has nice ambience and was very clean. They have a beautiful cherry tree at the entryway and a lot of people like to get their picture taken there, especially with kids. We enjoyed all of our food and sampled lots of things, including: spare ribs, fish, squid, coconut shrimp, scallion pancake, pork dumplings, soup dumplings, oysters, black bean clams, spring roll, wonton soup, sticky rice, bok choy, garlic string beans, 2 made to order sushi rolls (8 pieces each roll), mini cakes & dipped ice cream with toppings. They have an actual robot that comes and delivers your check so that's definitely a first! We will try again at lunch on a week day where the price is $22.95. After 2pm weekdays there is a 15% discount because they actually close at 3 PM and then reopen again for dinner. There is also a 10% discount for seniors which my husband received today. They are located at the Richmond Mall off of Route 8, next to Shop n Save supermarket so there's plenty of parking in the shopping plaza parking lot. read more

Go! This is not your typical buffet! This is authentic Asian buffet. Brought me back to my trips to Asia. It doesn't look like much from the outside but awesome on the inside. Very clean, very pleasant, very comfortable. The service is friendly, accurate and fast. The food is - yummy - authentic Asian foods. Not Asian style but rather real authentic Asian. My only negative is the price. When first saw it online it did deter me. But after months of debating, I finally came in and I am very pleased. Perhaps a lower price would attract more customers but I'll let them do the math. This is my new favorite Asian food stop!!! read more

Legs and their lobster only to go there and find out that the lobster is gone, and they're only doing crab legs 2 nights a week. They change their priced, which doesn't matter. My family didn't feel the same as me but that's the difference between an authentic Chinese and 2nd generation probably. The only thing that fits a star is the decor and ambiance, which makes it look like an upscale restaurant with upscale prices to match. The dishes on trays outside are same quality as those typical Chinese low end buffets that no longer survives in the Bay Area, the braised pork belly was one of the few ok ones but still its rock hard texture (it was tender inside but outside was coated with way too much sugar that I thought it had been cooked multiple times as previous leftovers). None of the dishes tasted like the authentic dishes they were supposed to be and even worse than going to Panda Express. Even the fried noodles were soggy and non edible. They get one extra star for the prepared dishes, don't miss that, you order made to order sushi, sashimi, noodles, and pan fried beefs and shrimp. However the sushi and sashimi are just a bit better than the average cheap Chinese buffets. Only thing I found good was the beef. Service was not bad but they kept claiming that they ran out of things at 8pm Saturday night, the busiest, riiiiiight. read more

Absolutely loved our first visit here! If you're not too keen on seafood maybe go for weekday lunchtime to try it out as it'll be a little cheaper- but we went for dinner and loved it! The clams were a big hit at our table. You can either order a sushi roll or go up to the bar and take individual pieces as a little "try before you buy" which was nice! First let's set expectations. It's a buffet. It's not supposed to be a 5 star experience (let alone 8, regardless of the restaurant's name). What 8 star cuisine is, is a surprisingly decent Asian buffet with a mix of Chinese and Sushi. While it is pricey for a buffet, given the variety, cleanliness, general efficiency and attentive service of the operation, it meets those expectations. Again, the food is not going to knock your socks off, but we were pleasantly surprised. Some of our favorite items - the duck, dim sum, spare ribs, most of the vegetable offerings, as well as the nigiri sushi. The other sushi items were serviceable but like so many sushi places in this part of the country, they get over sauced. Staff were great. Despite how busy it was, everyone was attentive and we didn't wait long. As for the interior, they really did a great job with the space. Not sure this will be a regular stop for us, but if you come hungry, with reasonable expectations, you will likely have an enjoyable meal. read more

Soups, appetizers, fruit, sides, entrees, desserts and even sushi from either the menu or the buffet bar, all included with your beverage. I was overwhelmed with all that was offered. I like that you can order sushi rolls to your table. They also have a small selection of dim sum. The interior is really well done! There is a giant cherry blossom tree as you walk in and wows you. There is also a giant video mural against the left side of the wall. Everything was really clean and the waitress came back to check on us multiple times. It was all you could eat and it made it so you could try things you wouldn't ordinarily try, without worrying about not being able to get something you would like. This new place was much needed in the Hampton area! The food is great, fresh sushi and many varieties of authentic Chinese cuisine and more American Chinese style cuisine. The inside is very modern and authentic! The service is a little suffocating since our waitress came around and asked if we needed anything every 2 minutes, there's a happy medium between not getting enough service and getting TOO much service. I agree with the 3.5 star rating. Visited 8 Star Cuisine on Saturday and it was all day dinner pricing. Buffet is laid out well with a nice variety of Chinese buffet dishes. You are also able to order sushi items from the menu that is also included in the price. They do serve snow crab legs but those were tasteless...same with the butter. What this place did well is the constant refresh of food, clean interior (because it's still new), and service was attentive and nice. If their food quality, like sushi (not on menu but out on buffet table) tasted better, and didn't overboil the snowcrab to where it's just flavorless, they would receive a full star higher rating. Other things they did well are the steamed turbot fish and coconut shrimp. read more

Ordered 2 Chinese lunches to go. Got charged an additional dollar for a "Convenience Fee" for an order we were picking up. Ordered online, but would only let you pay in store. Both lunches were disgusting! General chicken was luke warm with soggy breading on the chicken and the sauce tasted worse than watered down ketchup. No flavor! I have had home kits from the freezer section of a store that were a lot better than this! Not even slightly spicey! Fried rice was decent, but rate that as a "2 star". Buffet food was certainly not up to temp, and lacked any flavor. We ordered Prepared sushi off the menu and it was horrible and made with low quality ingredients. There were snow crab legs listed on menu and shown on advertising yet the bin was full of just pieces of leg floating in dirty water. my family was there for an hour and it was never refilled. 8 Star Cuisine doesn't deserve any Stars. My little one and I stopped in today to check this place out. We arrived at 3pm and the host sat hidden away in a section no one was in but the staff that seemed like they were on breaks. He explained it was all you could enjoy from the buffet and a menu that contained made to order Japanese dishes. We were not greeted by our server til about 3:10 after he walked by us twice. At that time we ordered drinks and two things off the made to order menu. While we wait for our Edamame and crunchy sushi we hit up the buffet. There was soo much to choose from it was kinda overwhelming. I had mostly vegetarian options like garlic greenbeans, vegetable delight and Chinese eggplant. My little one was excited for the crab legs, chicken nuggets and crab Rangoon. After about 30 mins we still didn't receive our made to order items so we waited til our server came back to ask. At about the 45 min mark he came back and we asked how much longer. He went back to the kitchen and came back and said about 5 mins. I figured something happened with the tablets they used and the order was never actually sent cause the other table that came in after we had been there for 20 mins ordered off the menu and they got there items in about 10mins. Once we finally got our order it was 3:50. I was asked if I wanted a refill of my beverage which I never got nor did I even have a glass in front of me when we finally asked for the check. We left at 4pm full but not really excited with our experience. It is a nice concept but for the price and the wait for the made to order items I'm not sure if we will try it again.
