First time there and the last! I went in to grab a salad to go, didn't know to expect and ordered half of the mista salad. There were barely any nuts in it. It was basically just a plain salad with a sauce container that took up most of the salad's container space! Almost 5$ for this! Not worth it. I will admit my bias, I love wood fired oven pizza. 800 Degrees does it right! Caputo flour, beautiful wood fueled oven, nice long pizza peals. There was a lot of attention to detail that went into this place. I love the focus on craft beer as well. The Mista salad was delicious. I think I would ask to go light on the dressing next time. The presentation is what you would expect of a fine restaurant and not a pizza joint. The pizza was baked to perfection. A nice crisp and chewy crust with a dab of black. The cheese was evenly melted with a crisp edge. A subtle hint of smoke bought it together. The service was good. I would love to have an 800 degrees in downtown Indianapolis. Have you ever noticed that the further you get from a nationality's "point of entry". The worse it gets? You may not know it by looking at me, but I'm a man who has eaten caviar pizza in New York City, in Chicago we had Uno's deep dish pizza. From that point in Colorado it starts to go down hill. And the worst, West coast pizza. Ok. First of all, 800's pizza was amazing! One of the best slices in the city. The wood/coal oven makes the perfect crust. We had ricotta and red pepper on half and a traditional margarita on the other half. Both were great!! 800's not an institution, part of Ft Wayne history yet, but is also a historically correct made pizza in the U.S. You get a pie cooked quickly in a wood/coal oven, which is hard to mess up. And you basically customize it with a choice of toppings. After that, it really comes down to individual tastes. Sauce taste, crust thickness, cheese uses... it either works for you or you have a better place in mind. No big deal. Sometimes you need a baseline and this is a legit place to benchmark all others in Fort Wayne. read more

I've only experienced carry-out from 800 Degrees, so this review is mostly based on the food alone (although I received friendly service when picking up my orders). It's difficult to find quality wood oven-fired pizza with creative ingredients in Fort Wayne, so 800 Degrees is definitely filling a much-needed niche. I've ordered their signature 800-Degree pizza with ricotta, roasted red peppers, homemade spicy sausage and a drizzle of chili oil, and would highly recommend it for any adventurous meat-lovers in the family. For the veggie-inclined, the Verdure option is wonderful in its own right; it is white-sauce based with goat cheese, and a large assortment of vegetables, including zucchini, red pepper, basil, fennel (!), grape tomatoes...and there is another drizzle option of bright-green chive oil. I believe it's the best vegetarian pizza you can order in the area. The thin, oven-scorched crust may be different than the typical crust you're accustomed to, but I think is more flavorful and authentic...so approach it with an open mind! If I visited Fort Wayne more often, I definitely try out the actual sit-down dining experience and some of the delicious-sounding salads and appetizers skipped over during typical carry-out. read more

When I was here, it was a pretty awful experience. First, when we got seated, we waited about 10-15 minutes and never got a waiter. I had to stand up and ask for one (we were sitting near the hostess booth, so I could just stand up to talk to them). They apologized and few minutes later we got a waitress, who apologized saying that there was a confusion on who should be waiting on us. We ordered two pizzas: Margherita - There was absolutely no taste to this, which was disappointing. My pizza comes with mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes on top of a red sauce. The pizza was soggy and it didn't taste good. For cooking in a 800 degree oven, I expected a crispy crust. But how can you really screw up such an easy pizza? Verdure - This was actually pretty good, taste wise. It was a vegetarian pizza with mushrooms, zucchini, goat cheese, etc. But again, the crust was soggy, and the pizza could not be picked up to eat. They pile on the toppings on this pizza, so that just made it even worse on the soggy crust. I wouldn't come here ever again. A pizza should never be soggy, especially in an 800 degree oven. read more

Salads were very good; pizza was just ok. Had a hard time getting anyone to take our order. One guy said Be right with ya! then proceeded to ignore me. Another guy came to the register and started to take my order, then said Oh I have to run something out, she'll take care if you, and a girl showed up to finally take my order. Establishments should be grateful someone wants to spend their money with them, not treat them like a nuisance. There are many restaurants out there and I will try my luck with them. The ambience is full energetic and staff is friendly. It was a little different experience of seeing a lot of vegetarian options in pizzas rather than non veg. The order was just a few minutes wait and the presentation took full marks but the taste made me a little sad for as it was bland a bit and too many chopped tomatoes... This is our first time here. The hotel manager were we are staying at loved this place. The waitress was ok but seemed a little abrupt for my liking. The man that greated us was very polite and we found out he was the day manager. The ladies her should learn how to speak to the customers as i was not impressed. Since this was our first time here we were open to suggestions. I was going to get the 800 degree pizza but I don't eat sausage and my friend doesn't like anything spicy. I loved the well done crust but the pizza had hardly any sauce on it even though we asked for extra sauce and the pizza was very soggy probably from not draing the liquid from the pineapples. The waitress said the sauce probably ran off the pizza when they were making it. Were did the sauce run to. She brought us out extra sauce but it wasn't very hot and wrecked the pizza which made it colder than it already was. My friend and I were told they gave been open for 7+ years. I would of thought they had all there bugs worked out and knew how to make a pizza by now. We had a Chicken, Pineapple, Green Peppers, tomatoes and extra sauce. The toppings were very thin and hard to spot. The best part of the pizza was the crust. We got a side of Garlic bread and that was very good. I may try this pizza again when I'm in Fort Wayne but if it's missing the sauce I will send it back. The sauce goes under the cheese not on top. We asked to speak to a manager about the cold pizza but amazingly both managers were gone. The second waitress that came over to us (Blonde Lady) was very sarcastic and quit rude. I would of come back for a second visit but after the remarks from this lady I won't be back. I ended up calling and talking to the assistant manager at there other location. I told her usually when I go to a restraunt and the food is cold its replaced with warm food or something else. This location did not offer me anything. I wasn't asking for a free meal but I wanted what I asked for. They sure didn't have a problem taking my money. I tend to tip very we but in this case I did not because the waitress did nothing to resolve our problem. I was offered a free meal the next time I'm in the area from the assistant manager at the other location. I may take them up on it but I will not change my review on how rude the people were at this location that my friend and I went to. read more

I wish we took pictures this time, but we arrived late to our hotel, we looked around for what was open and we ordered :) The reason for the 4 stars is their online did not work well for ordering for delivery and we had to do pickup and then also had to call to verify but hey life. Next the crust on the regular pizza was quite soggy so it was not cooked very evenly and the topping to cheese to crust ratio was a bit much ... a bit more pepperoni more than bacon.. so it was a bit overwhelming. ** gluten free crust but not full allergen free due to in same oven ... but it's pretty good...** I got it in of course Alfredo fungi with bacon because yum that's y Cremini Also ordered the caprese salad which was literally the star!!!! Ordered extra dressing (cost $1.00) but they definitely added the right amount of dressing for this and the mozzarella!!! Yes yes YES! It's been a while since I've had pizza I loved. Seattle - Pagliacci. Pasadena - The Luggage Room. I don't want only pepperoni. I want goat cheese and sundried tomatoes and artichokes and arugula ... Soooo lucky for me that this is right down the street! We ate in today and ordered the Cubano sandwich (which comes with salad - we chose the mista) and the 800 degree pizza. Everything was excellent! I'm not a fan of sausage on pizza because I don't like big chunks of meat. This made-in-house-sausage was crumbled all over the pizza. Blobs of ricotta covered the whole thing. It was spicy and tasty and the crust was perfect. The Cubano was delicious, spicy, chewy - awesome. Not sure I'd say it's an authentic Cuban sandwich, but it WAS good. REALLY good. The salad was great. Fresh, no gross swampy-tasting bits of baby lettuce. All ingredients represented. Happy. We sat in the bar area - to the left when you walk in - which meant 'full service': no having to order at the counter, or whatever the other option is. Our server was Cibila? The receipt was hard to read so I can't be sure. But she was friendly and fast. We will DEFINITELY be back. There are lots of combinations that we want to try! read more

My wife and I frequent this place several times a month. They have great pizza and a nice clean atmosphere. Prices are very fair and the staff is friendly. Coming here during slow times it's mostly self service so it feels awkward if you are to tip the wait staff. By getting your own drinks and such I wouldn't mind tipping more just for a simple refill. All that aside this is a great place to grab a slice! read more

What a fantastic restaurant. I was great immediately upon entering and offered to be seat anywhere I'd like I chose the bar and was quickly introduced to the menu. I ordered an appetizer of Pirelli (which is basically a ring of pizza crust stuffed with mozzarella and had tomato spice in the middle) which was delicious. I order the Three Little Pigs sandwich which came with a salad. I have absolutely no complaint about the time between portions of the meal, the sizes of the portions, and the taste. Was very skeptical from reviews but daughters live here..... Took 3 grandkids and 2 others. 2 med pies. Meaty one and veggy one. Kids all got bambino ones, cheese, sausage, pepperoni. So you order at the counter and they give you a number. You go sit down. Self serve sodas/water. Order wine/beer they bring to you. Ordered salads too. Got all the kiddos drinks and started the wait for the pizzas. Here are the salads! Maybe 4-5 minutes, kids pizzas came out. All at once! No fighting.... then about 5 minutes later ours came out. Allowing us to start on salads. Pizzas were amazing! So much better than I expected. Can't wait to get back to Ft. Wayne!!! read more

800 Degrees isn't pizza like most people know it. Wood fired, very thin crust and locally sourced ingredients are what make it a place to keep on coming back to. The menu is diverse and the atmosphere is modern, but still welcoming. I've sampled most of the pizzas on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. The Rocket is my personal favorite and has prosciutto, fresh arugala, fontina cheese and garlic. The garlic bread is fantastic and their salads are large in stature as well as in flavor. Televisions are available if you want to watch the game at their bar area as well as plenty of family seating (serve yourself) and adult only seating (full service). The service is pleasant and attentive and the head chef comes around to talk to customers. Very nice guy and quite knowledgeable about his craft. Highly recommended if you enjoy an attention to detail and value quality over quantity. read more

Here you will find a crispy thin-crust in one size (about 11") offered with several options of ingredients. Please leave your comfort zone and try one of their signature styles; you will be satisfied. My family and I ate here on two occasions, both excellent in taste and service. On the first visit, I chose the Rocket (arugola & prosciutto). Crisp, but not cracker-thin; the dough a perfect compliment to the salty prosciutto and enough arugola to balance out everything else. I ate the whole thing. A+ The second visit I chose the Pollo Barbecue, which was also excellent. Plenty of chicken, perfectly baked and a wonderful bbq sauce. My ONLY complaint would be that the bbq was a little TOO powerful and I would have liked less of the sauce. But I'm picking straws here, and I would def. order it again. The house chianti was fantastic and complimented all dishes. I would give this place five stars, except there is one thing I don't understand: you need to go back up to the counter to order your food. I don't understand this, when they seem to have plenty of staff coming around to the tables to ask if everything is ok (it obviously isn't an efficiency thing, or they would employ less staff for the evening). They also have a host to seat you at your table with menus first, before ordering. I took a trip to Fort Wayne with some family (they live in OH and this is halfway in between us, perfect!). I am the food lover of the group so I researched some places and knew everyone would love this place. We went there for lunch the day we arrived. This pizza is wood fire grilled and tastes just as beautiful as it looks. We sampled some apps and salads that were also wonderful. I also know they have a good beer selection which I did not partake in, but that's a plus and worth remembering. We sat on the patio in good weather and really enjoyed ourselves. I wish we had a place like this where we live. If & when we go back to Fort Wayne, we will definitely be going back. I was looking forward to trying the pizza, because I heard it was good. Unfortunately, I never got to try it. After waiting in a long line for at least 30 minutes, probably longer, I was seated. At least 20 more minutes went by. I hadn't been asked what I wanted to drink or even greeted. A few waitresses passed our table, that was in the front by the kitchen area, several times without asking have we been helped yet. Other people around us received their drinks. Kind of made us wonder if we were being discriminated against. Poor customer service. I left the restauraunt. Reply to the Note: If there is a certain way to order that should be explained to first time diners. We thought that was for to go orders. Several people have told me about this place when we were talking bout great, fresh salads... They failed to mention that this place has the best flavored, fresh pizza in town! The crust is just the right amount of crispy and chewy, not too sweet or too salty, but with great flavor (and you can fold it in true NY style). The crust serves as a base for the FRESH toppings. The Verdure (veggie) pizza had roasted veggies, goat cheese, and a white sauce, the Funghi just enough tomato sauce not to overwhelm the variety of fresh mushrooms on the pie. Yes, the salad was wonderful too and if you just want a salad, the Mista has a great mixture of fresh baby greens (read: not iceberg), other veggies and toasted pine nuts. They offer it in full and half sizes depending on your hunger level. (I ordered the full and shared). I took carryout so I can't say how the table service is, but the guy taking my call was most courteous and helpful and I did not have a wait when I picked it up. I noticed they have a small bar (6 stools) and a good variety of craft beers so I look forward to dining in and enjoying all they have to offer. read more

800 Degrees is the best pizza I have had. The crust is delicious. The wood stove creates the perfect flavor. The sauce is perfect, it has a little bit of sweetness to it and they put just the right amount on the pizza. Everything is so fresh, the quality is unlike any other pizza I've had. The BBQ Pork is a must, and the salads are great too. My only complaint is the ordering system. You decide what you want after you are seated, then you go and place your order at the counter. You don't have a dedicated server, and because of that sometimes you feel like you are forgotten. We have had to get up several times to get extra napkins/boxes and on a few occasions all the servers have done was bring the salad/pizza out, so it confuses me a bit as to what we are supposed to tip the servers. read more

Wow, Fort Wayne-- this is some good pizza! We were visiting friends here for the weekend and they too us to 800 Degrees for dinner one evening. The thin crust pizza was great and we split 3 between the 5 of us, which was the perfect amount. I really loved the Rocket pizza-- raw arugula on top of a thin crust pizza is one of my favorites from visiting Italy and it always a welcome sight in the US! Also really enjoyed the bruschetta which was made on toasted pieces of their homemade crust-- yum! I did think the setup was a bit strange. The restaurant has a bar, full seating, and a hostess, but you still have to place your full order (including drinks and alcohol) at the counter and then they bring it to you when it's done. If you are of the "all-you-can-eat pizza buffet" mindset, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for wood fired (smokey flavored) pizza with unusual combinations of chunks of fresh (not dried) herbs and vegetables, you have found gourmet pizza heaven! Don't miss out on their enormous salads either (you can order half sizes). The inside is incredibly warm and cozy and has a refreshing energy to it. In fact, the place can be downright "hopping" with people. Because of the high ceiling, this can lead to the ambient noise being pretty loud, but I think this just adds to the whole experience. Just don't expect to have a quite little rendezvous with that someone special. This is definitely more of a "meet a bunch of friends" place. Whenever I'm in town visiting my folks we make a point of ordering carryout from 800 Degrees. Nothing else like this place in Ft. Wayne, and the pizzas (while small) have super fresh and flavorful toppings that make up for it. Only downside is if you were to eat in, the acoustics of the building are HORRIBLE and when it's packed (as it often is), you can barely hear what someone sitting next to you is saying. Still though, nice to have a place like this tucked in the midst of an otherwise gross and depressing chain restaurant and Wal-Mart stretch in northern Ft. Waste. read more

Came here for the first time the other day and wasn't sure what to expect. Initially we weren't sure what to think because the place seemed a little small and the young girl who sat us was kind of spacey and ended up confusing us when she tried to explain the restaurant. But once we got our waitress everything went up. The food was very good and we loved the variety. My favorite was the 800 Degree Pizza and the Carne. We only give it 4 out of 5 because it's a bit small and we felt cramped. But that was overshadowed by the great food and service. read more
