Lexy's Pizza (Spring Street, Fort Wayne) - first time trying this pizza institution I've seen lots of outstanding reviews for Lexy's. How can you live in the Fort and not visit the original Spring Street location that was founded by Lexy Demetroff since 1957? Well...I've now checked that one off my bucket list! I ordered a medium Everything pizza around 4:30p on a busy Friday evening. They quoted me a 40 minute wait time...and they were spot on. Lexy's pizza menu and prices are typical of most non-budget pizza places. They offer deep dish pizzas as well. The Spring street location is small with ample parking in the back. There is thin table that lines two walls with bar stools. I suppose you could eat in. However carry out is most common. The kitchen is wide open to the entry way. You can watch the pizza artisans doing their craft. I found the team here to be very friendly and welcoming while focusing on pizza making. In my first trip to Lexy's I found the pizza to be quite delicious. The crust is thin. The edges are crispy - yes, really crisp. The underside in the middle of the pizza was soft and nicely baked. No obvious added flavoring to the crust. Pretty much a plain flour dough. Lexy's motto is "Generous portions, Quality ingredients"...and that is what I found. The toppings were piled high on a bed of ground up American sausage. The rest of the meats and vegetables were plentiful and tasty. The toppings were held in place by a thick bed of fresh mozzarella cheese. The pizza is well baked as evidenced by the crispy edges and "frico" browned cheese. The browned and slightly crispy cheese added a different taste to the oozing bed of mozzarella that was below the surface. The sauce was not as prominent as I hoped. The toppings dominated the taste. The bit of sauce I could detect was slightly sweet and had a good tomato taste. The whole pizza was nicely moist. You pick up a good blend of different ingredient tastes. Cold Pizza Test - the next morning the cold pizza tasted almost exactly like the pizza from the night before - delicious! The pizza was still very moist. The crust was still very crispy. The flavor from the toppings did tend to faded a little. read more

We ordered a large with everything, extra cheese and anchovies on one half. Lexy's had it ready when we picked it up. I liked the thin crust and all of the toppings. It was still warm when we got the monster home. Don't be afraid to go to that area for delicious Lexy's. read more

Tried my first Lexy's pizza a couple of days ago. The guy behind the counter was shocked to hear that. He asked if I had been living under a rock. Turns out I have had better at nearly every other place I've been going to. I got a large Everything (no mushrooms), and asked for Italian Sausage, but was given American sausage (yuck). The pie had a lot of toppings, but didn't really have much flavor, except for the strong taste of green olives. The cheese was plentiful, but when it cooled, it became a little stiff. The crust underneath was like cardboard, but the edges were crispy. The pizza only improved after sitting in the refrigerator over night and reheated in the microwave with a cup of hot water. After doing that, there was some moisture in it and it became edible. Although, had I known that I couldn't substitute the sausage, they could have left it off with the mushrooms. My advice is to save yourself some money by buying a deli pizza at the grocery, and make it yourself. If that's not an option, go to the Green Frog across the street. read more

Staying at a hotel in Fort Wayne for a recent weekend and we were looking for pizza. Normally we stay on the north end but were staying a little farther south and away from the Dupont location of Lexy's, so we decided to try this location instead (it was muchly closer to our hotel). The Lexy's location is kind of hidden in more-residential-than-business area, and I believe this may be the original location of Lexy's. No matter, because the menu is the same and we love the Neapolitan pizza. After a somewhat challenging drive (Waze got confused and tried to send us down a road that wasn't there) we made it Lexy's. This location is muchly smaller than the Dupont location and had a well-worn, "been here a long time" feel. As I recall there were a couple tables, but this location is more of a carry-out place. When we arrived our order was ready and the gentlemen inside was pleasant and proudly presented us our Neapolitan pizza, even opening the box to make sure it was accurate. That was it. Then we drove away and took a much-less challenging drive back to our hotel. The Neapolitan was great and never disappoints. Lexy's is great, but we only get to enjoy it when we're in Fort Wayne...and that's about a 4 hour drive from Louisville. :( read more

It was good. We ordered a large everything, large pepperoni, and crazy dough. 50 dollars. It says generous portions on the box. But I thought for the price I'd get more. I've heard wonderful reviews so maybe we just ordered wrong? Pizza was ok. Sauce seemed a bit bland. Guy on the phone and in person was very nice (I read otherwise so I was nervous to call). I'd eat it again. If someone else buys or there's a great special! read more

AMAZING pizza, and I'm not a huge pizza person. The deluxe was loaded, the pepperoni/sausage my husband ordered was perfectly browned, and had a ton of meat on it. The location isn't the most fun, and the pizzas took quite a bit longer than quoted on Saturday, but it was all worth it. read more

Tried Lexy's for the first time. Got the large 'everything' pizza. A large is only 14" and the medium is 12". It's the best pizza we have had in a long, long time. The crust is wonderfully thin. The pizza doesn't have that thick ring of crust around the edge so the toppings and cheese cover every inch. Pizza had great flavor. One thing I noticed when I picked up the pie is that the box was a little heavier than other pizzas we have had at other places in the past. When we started eating it, we quickly found out why. They put a very generous amount of ingredients on the pizza and top it with plenty of cheese. Delicious. read more

Ordered a sausage roll with extra cheese and a medium cheese pizza. Food was fantastic. The 3 stars was given due to the long hold time when calling to order at 8:30 on a Friday night. Was told 35 minutes to pick up, was there exactly 35 minutes later only to wait another 10-15 minutes. And while waiting, noticed the staff was busy talking, laughing and joking around with each other which may explain the extra 10-15 minute wait time. JS read more

I grew up eating Lexy's and it's always one of my first stops when I come back into town. Don't know my own cell number but can still recall Lexy's at the drop of a hunger pain. The only problem I have with Lexy's is trying to decide if I want a pizza, grinder, or sausage roll! Take the time to always support your local owned places when you can! read more

Large everything.. Best pizza in Fort Wayne!!! If you haven't tried them yet, please do. But you have to love thin crust.. it's old school in there so on busy nights it may take an hour to get your pizza made. I'm a pizza addict. Pizza is always a good idea. And Lexy's Pizza is one of the reasons I'm happy about being back in Fort Wayne. All their pizzas are delicious, but their Everything is out of this world. Great thin crust combined with a tower of toppings held in place with cheese. I normally hate sausage on pizza, but I happily eat it on this pizza. My husband is normally anti-green pepper, but was scarfing down the pizza like he wasn't going to have another chance, green peppers still in place. Person on the phone was friendly, as was the delivery driver. Delivery took about an hour. It WILL cost more than a pizza from Pizza Hut, but it is a different class of pizza and is worth the extra couple of bucks. (Toppings, toppings, toppings!) Do an internet search and you should find a $5.00 off coupon. read more

Ordered pizza. It was busy, but still kind of slow. I've worked in pizza parlors before. This was slow. Pizza looked ok and had a mediocre taste--not bad, but not great. It was vaguely sweet. My kids make better tasting pizza. It is hard to mess up pizza, but this came close. I'll try it again some time. This might have been an off night. read more

Fantastic pizza - a little pricey when compared to the mediocre chain pizza joints, and worth every extra penny! My only complaint is a lack of consistencey - sometimes the pizza is good, and sometimes it is fantastic! Even a bad day @ Lexy's is better than Hungrie Howies at their best. Just placed an order and was told 40 min. Went to pick it up and they lost the order and tried to blame me saying I called the wrong location even when I showed them the number I called. Was offered a $5 discount. I wasn't looking for free pizza by any means, but $5 for losing our order and then telling me I was the one that messed up was upsetting. read more

The grinder and the veggie rolls from here were both very good. Lexy's has one of two choices for dinning, Pick-up or delivery. There is no dinning in option, which is ok. The food is good, I have yet to try there pizza but I have heard good things so I'll be trying that next time I go to pick up some food. Only draw back. Was my 2 item dinner was $18. This little mom and pop pizza shop is not cheap by any means, hence the 4 stars and not 5. The prices listed on the yelp page are incorrect. When calling ask about prices. My bill after tax should have been $14.98 according to the prices listed on yelp. I was charged $18.40 something. read more

Fore most of my life i have loved this place. I love the feeling of a small locally owned business and this def had that feel. The number one thong i love to get are their hot subs. So so so delicious. Theow pizza is also do good but not my nunnery one choice due to price. I've had better. But bevause i was radioed to like this is hard top knock somwthing you live. I'm in Fort Worth for one night and it is surprisingly difficult to get food delivered to my hotel right next to the convention center. Lexy's was one of my few options, and I'm pretty pleased that it was. I ordered a meat pizza and hot wings. The pizza was serious; a thin crust with a ridiculous amount of toppings and a mildly sweet marinara. Overall it was much better than I expected. I wouldn't recommend ordering the wings, however. They are essentially the same as the ones you can get in the freezer section of the grocery store. -1 star. If you come to Fort Worth and want delivery pizza, I definitely recommend this place... for pizza. Note: they do not accept Amex. read more
