I commissioned 805 Woodworks for a *one-time only special project* to rebuild a late 1800's dilapidated horse-drawn buckboard wagon. This project had special meaning, as my late grandmother used to ride to school in this vehicle when she was a child growing up in California's central valley. The finished result was BEYOND my expectations and I couldn't be happier! Zach and his son Nathan did it justice by using beautifully aged hemlock, and I wish my grandma were here to see it today. We have nothing but amazing things to say about 805 Woodworks and their visionary owner Zach Bancroft. My wife (who has WAY too much access to Pinterest and HGTV) found 805 Woodworks on Craigslist and then saw their work on Instagram. She wanted to have them come out and redo some of our walls in barn wood. From our first meeting with Zach, you could tell that he was working hard to understand and match her vision and that he clearly had an eye for what would and would not work. He was personable, down-to-earth and added a bit of humor to the process which *I* greatly appreciated. 805 Woodworks also has a truly amazing selection of wood available to support almost any application. Prior to installation, Zach was helpful and responsive in answering any questions that we had about preparation, process, etc. During the installation, he worked with us to make sure he was meeting my wife's vision. We had him do the main wall in our living room and another in our dining room. The wall in the living room is the one that our television is on, so I had some specific requirements around cable routing which he went above and beyond on. He also wisely suggested some ways to make things look even better, like framing out the entrance to our living room with barn wood in a way that would tie it into the rest of our home. After the first day, I was enjoying his work so much that the next morning I threw a bit of a curve ball his way and asked if he could also put a barn wood covering over our existing mantel. I thought maybe I'd need to have him come back at a different time, but Zach liked the idea and got to work on it that day. The finished walls, look amazing and have given my wife and I a new sense of pride in the look of our home. All of our friends and family (some of whom were skeptical of what it would look like) have been effusive in their praise of Zach and his team's work. This is probably a good opportunity to add that his entire staff were extremely helpful and friendly and a pleasure to work with. They have a customer-first attitude and were meticulous in their craft even during their cleanup. I tried to get Zach to let me help with the cleanup, but he was insistent that he and his staff would take care of it. If you have need of this kind of work, I can't say enough about Zach and his team's vision, professionalism, selection, and overall service. I went to this Shop a few weeks ago. The Shop owner was not there so I spoke to his wife. I told her what I was trying to get made and sent her a picture of my project on her phone. No one from the shop has contacted me and it has been a few weeks. I sent them a second text, asking for a ballpark figure of the project I need done and still no answer. This is very bad business if you ask me. I took time out of my day to drive over there. Well...I had been wanting a plank wall for the past two years. I read many blogs and looked at many pictures on The web. I decided to search for "reclaimed wood" in my area. This is when I found 805-woodworks. They popped up on Yelp and their website. I really liked what I read and saw. I took a drive out to their location in Somis. The selection of wood was abundant. It was such an enjoyable experience searching through all the old boards of character. Upon arrival I met the owner/Zach, I explained to him what I was pondering putting into my kitchen, and he proceeded to pull boards out and patterned them on the ground to give me an example of how it would look. I really liked his vision, he is an artist for sure. The owner, Zach and his staff were really a pleasure to work with. They were professional and accommodating from the first phone call to the installation yesterday. The process was fun! The results are amazing, I am so pleased with my new "plank Art Wall". I would most definitely refer their work to others, and hoping that I might have the opportunity to work with them again on a project in the future. read more

George was wonderful in helping find just the right beam and even cut off a small section of the beam for me to take home so that I could see the beam in place! I'm making a dinner table for a couple and they wanted me to look into salvaged lumber so I took a quick trip to Somis. A dirty yet very excited George greeted me with a hand-shake and introductions. He IS the lumber yard, he organizes it, he stocks it, he maintains it and that explains why he takes a lot of joy in giving me the tour. They had what I was looking for and more and George had an answer for all my questions. I came in with 1 idea and I walked out with 10 more. I took some wood samples for my client to take look at. I finally decided to stop in after seeing such great reviews online. And I was not disappointed! They have an awesome selection of individual pieces of wood (exactly what I was looking for) and the prices are amazing! I was able to find some great pieces and they helped me cut & sand it down to what I needed. From the second I got there, the experience was great. Everyone is so helpful and really go above and beyond to provide the best customer service. You can tell the staff really enjoy working there. I came with my mom and son, and my son started complaining that he was thirsty. Without hesitation, one of the employees - George, went into the shop and brought us a bottled water. That in itself isn't necessarily a huge deal, but along with everything else we experienced, the fact is you can tell that they truly delight in caring for their customers. Zach at 805 Woodworks is a great guy. He certainly has better deals than any other reclaimed and used lumber place I have ever been in California. When he fabricated a piece of bowling alley for me he told me it would take two weeks...it took only one. How often does that actually happen?!
