We're really conflicted in writing this review . . . On one hand, we definitely support local businesses. We also love the idea of a raw food diet for our fur baby - which is what brought us to 808 Raw Pet Food to begin with. However . . . Our dog got very sick after our last purchase of raw food: vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, lethargy and weakness (to the point of not being able to stand without assistance). We took her to the vet for a physical exam, blood tests, etc. These results were all normal. The timing (new batch of food) and stomach issues pointed most likely to food poisoning or similar from the raw food. To be clear, we are NOT upset or blaming anyone. We are also NOT discouraging anyone from raw foods. We were well aware of the risks of bacterial contamination, etc. and it was one of the things we considered when making this decision. Unfortunately, we had a very scary and expensive (vet bill) experience with these risks and caution everyone to take these very seriously. Outside of this, the staff were very friendly. They have a good assortment of food and snack offerings. Parking can be challenging - DO NOT bring a large vehicle. read more

This review should have been written 2 months ago I often browsed the 808Raw Pet Food site, but being new to feeding raw, I started with primal frozen raw patties and then Tuckers. So glad I came by to check out this place! Got to meet Jonathan and ask about his products. Bought a few pounds of the beef and salmon blend and Jonathan gave me a couple pounds of the Hawai'i grass fed beef to try as well. I went in pretty close to closing, and the girl there was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Again, considering I went like 8 mins before they were going to close, she was so nice. I have a new 6 month old puppy with allergies and am deciding on either a raw or homecooked diet. I've read reviews and decided to take the drive out to Kaneohe to check out 808Raw. The Pros is that they have a few parking stalls for customers, it's a cute space filled with dog treats and food sourced from various suppliers and they have a good selection of blended raw products and harder to find products like Green Juju, Tuckers and bones and Co they carry a pretty good selection of treats like dehydrated chicken feet, rabbit heads and even pig ears. So why only 3 stars?? The employee was actually very helpful up until the end of my visit...she ran out of the store to my car and stopped me because she thought she undercharged me which I was fine with so I walked back in the store and showed her my receipt and it was correct.....As I'm back in my car ready to reverse out she then runs back out to my car a 2nd time...this time she questions me why i was taking pictures of the store?!? I told her that I may do a review of the store. I booked it out of there fast after that. I'm pretty weirded out by the experience because as a business, customers may take pictures unless there's signs up for No picture taking I respect that. Just makes me wonder what's going on there that they are questioning why I was taking pictures? I purchased turkey bone broth, raw turkey necks and salmon blend food. This place is a hidden gem! I heard about it from someone at a local market and being the crazy dog mom I am, I knew I had to go! This spot is kind of hidden but just follow the directions from the gps and you'll find it. They are next to Sherwin Williams paint store in Kaneohe and they have parking right outside their store. They are knowledgeable and have a variety of different food, meats, and treats for dogs and cats. They also had some cute toys and clothing items available (even crocs for dogs!). I am really excited to have my dog try their beef (which I'm going to use to fill his empty bone marrow bone). I also can't wait for him to have their powdered goat milk, because my golden retriever loves goat milk! (If you haven't tried it yet, head over here and grab a packet because they're only $1.99!) I also was able to grab chicken feat for $2 each (very inexpensive for the quality), along with a juicy greasy pig ear, rabbit ears, salmon and trout treats and a HUGE bully stick! The customer service and prices were something to shout from the rooftops. Even if your dog doesn't eat raw food, you should still go here and check out everything else this store has to offer! After having skin allergies and googling what's best for skin allergies, everything turned to raw dog food. 808 raw pet food was one of only 2 vendors providing raw dog food to dogs in Hawaii at the time. Raw dog food has so much benefits for the dog. My dog has such beautiful coat, his fur feels soft like. Pillow. The dogs don't smell, even their breath. It keeps their teeth clean. You don't need to bathe them frequent. You can balance your dogs raw food with fruits, veggies, broth, supplements, etc. my dog is a two time cancer survivor and is thriving on a raw diet. I'm glad that 808 raw opened up a store, and I'm Kaneohe too! I wish long time customers would get a loyalty type discount, (which we don't), but just have to catch things in sale. If you don't go to 808 Raw Pet food store WHAT ARE U DOIN! My dogs used to be kibble fed 100% but they switched to raw because of 808 Raw Pet. They have a variety of raw pet blends and bones and just yummy goodies for your dog. It's easy to get the dogs to eat raw and they love it! The treats are good and they are always so excited to eat their breakfast and dinner and their treats. The staff is amazing! John is so nice and very helpful with accommodating to your needs in helping switch your dog over to raw. I have an amazing time shopping in here it's always so fun to let my dog try new blends and treats. Overall, my experiences here are always amazing. Located on Kahuhipa St in Kaneohe, if you use Google Maps it's pretty accurate, the business is a little hole-in-the-wall. Keep in mind the parking is a one way so it's a hassle to get out of if it's busy. Business sells high quality dog food and treats with their biggest appeal as raw dog food. If you want to know more I'd recommend following their Instagram page. First time there in-person and the shop is very small. Has tons of filled freezers to look at with stuff from raw meat, to popsicle treats, to even small birthday cakes. Most weren't labelled with prices so luckily their website had them and I was able to guess my total that way. If you're not paying attention you could be spending a lot of money and not know it. Spent 40.00 before tip here on just a handful of items. So far the jerky is malleable and the smell is appetizing for my dogs. The frozen popsicle treats are okay, basically fruit and water mixed, I thought there was more to it. And I have yet to try the 1 lb frozen lamb for my dogs - but I have high expectations so Im excited. I'd go back to both support local and spoil my pups! read more

Owner just turned JERK. I usually get a special discount that I told the girl and she said the owner Nainoa just texted her. I get home and the discount wasn't applied. I call him back because also there was no parking as I was buying a lot of heavy frozen raw I needed parking he said park in any spot. Then I told him I never got the discount he apologized saying if I didn't tell the girl she doesn't know. Well I had to repeat myself that I did tell the girl as I just told him I told the girl before ringing up. He got angry and told me he was going to cut the discount and for me to never come back. I have been a customer for over 4 years. I enjoy having access to feeding my furbaby raw food for multiple reasons. The product is 100% amazing, no complaints there. However, a young girl short haircut cashier was very short, abrupt and seemed bothered while i tried to ask her questions about the treat side. She was on her phone as if i was inconveniencing her. It's super unfortunate because like i said products are amazing even all the other store workers.
