    Maxie's new do!

We're new to town and this was our first visit to The Dog Shop. We love them! Stephanie was extremely friendly and you can just tell how much everyone working there cares about the animals. Our senior rescue dog Maxie enjoyed his spa day and Steph asked us many questions as first time customers to make sure his cut came out just right. They were also sensitive about allergies and smells and made sure to ask. We picked up a stress-free dog who looked and smelled great and I wish it was this easy to find a great human salon! Bottom line: great hair, great care.

We walk Jack and Juju there for their nail trimmings. Going to set appt for our juju for the full groom. His fur is getting sooooo long and the pet store we normally go to is no longer having grooming services. It's obvious the people at the dog shop care and are highly experienced & skilled.

Ella the adventuring Boykin--- so fresh and so clean!

These ladies are amazing! Was looking for a groomer who would love of my dog while they took care of her and her haircut needs! On point!

Sydney with an extremely ugly do.

We've taken our dog here in the past with great results. The two star rating is for today's result which looks like a lopsided Mohawk. They cut the hair on her head way too short and uneven so to even it out, her hair will have to be even shorter than it is now. I am extremely disappointed. They have since redeemed themselves and I continue to take my dog there. October 2017 They're back to their old ways. Time to look for a new groomer.

Do you crate the dogs when grooming? My golden retriever won't go into a crate. Do you have any…

No we don’t crate unless we have to for a dogs safety. Unfortunately I have no openings at this time.

She is a literal gold mine for the practice. I highly recommend going in when Dera is working at the Kailua location. She staffs at other locations, so be sure to find out when she works at Kailua or, if you prefer, Kaneohe. Dr. Pressler was also amazing. She has years of emergency veterinary experience and has a high interest/knowledge base in veterinary cardiac medicine. Try to book with Dera and Dr. Pressler when you go!

I brought my precious 18.5 year old boy here to assess whether we should continue to medicate him or help him cross the rainbow bridge. I decided for the latter and that isn't what made this such a terrible experience. I regret each moment after I made that decision. When you arrive at this clinic, they take your dog from you and examine them while you wait in the car. So they had already taken him from me. The vet came out to have the conversation with me about options, and when I made my decision they told me I could wait in the car or the reception area. I chose the reception area, not really thinking much about it because I was grieving. Within moments, the receptionist started giving me papers to sign and options for cremation and I heard my baby boy screaming bloody murder in the room next to the reception area. I was in a panic, but in freeze mode, crying while the receptionist just stared at me. I had no idea they were going to needle and sedate him before I even got to see him again! After what felt like an eternity of hearing him scream, they brought me into the room and he was completely in shock and already half way gone. I picked him up and she didn't even give me a chance to talk to him or say anything she just stated explaining what she was injecting into his IV. He was dead within mere minutes of me stepping into the room. Then of course they told me to take all the time I needed. I was so traumatized I walked out and left his blanket, his bed, his collar. To be fair, I called the clinic a week later and left a message saying I wanted to speak with the clinic manager about a recent experience. No one ever called me back. They never even called to see if I wanted his things back. And they charged me over $400 for this traumatic experience. Don't get me wrong, losing a dog is never easy. But when I've done home euthanasia before, it's so much more peaceful and compassionate. This. Was. Awful. My sweet boy did not deserve to die that way after 18 faithful years. I will never, ever forget his screams. Never. Look elsewhere for pet care. This place doesn't deserve your money.

Joey was in and out of this hospital through some very serious moments. He had to be induced many times, undergo emergency procedures, and face situations where I truly didn't know if I would get more time with him. And every single time, this team showed up--with skill, urgency, and unwavering dedication. They didn't just treat him... they gave him more life. Because of them, Joey lived to 15 years and 2 months--time I know I wouldn't have had otherwise. That is something I can never repay. But what truly sets this hospital apart is their compassion. Every doctor, every technician, every staff member treated Joey like he was their own. And they treated me with such kindness and patience through every high and every devastating low. When it came time to say goodbye, they handled his final moments with a level of grace and humanity that I will never forget. There was no rush, no clinical coldness--only quiet compassion. They made space for love, for dignity, and for a peaceful goodbye. In the middle of the hardest moment of my life, they created something that felt gentle... and even beautiful. Joey wasn't just a patient there. He was known, he was loved, and he was fought for. And I will be forever grateful to this team for giving me the gift of more time with my boy--and for helping me say goodbye to him in the most compassionate way possible. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart
