Somehow I've been here many times and never wrote a review! The mango cheesecake was sublime - compared to other cheesecake I've had this was smoother and the mango puree slaps hard. The graham cracker crust wasn't messy either - it was easy to cut it up! I will say the plastic cake knife broke (maybe we should have waited more than 30 min for the cake to get to room temperature?) One of our fav boba tea spots - milk teas - lots of varieties if your group does not care for boba - just leave it out - my spouse enjoys their sea salt coffee; also the cocoa is great too on a chilly day. Bakery items do not disappoint. Savory to sweet - lots of choices along with vegan to meat eaters. Prices are low to enjoy multiple items, we find it fresh each visit. I frequent this 85d a lot as it's the closest one to me. I've been here various hours of the day and they are always well stocked, even when busy. The food is pretty much on par with the chain standards and the staff has always been polite and professional. Its a decent sized location with some seating inside and also limited seating outside. My stepmom loves this bakery, so we made a point to come here on our last visit. All of the baked goods are individually packaged which is nice; use a tray to keep your items together if you need one. There are cards describing the items to help with any allergies or aversions - I am allergic to almonds and almost chose an item that didn't have almond in the name but they were hidden inside. I picked out 3 pastries to take home, 2 cinnamon twists for my dad, a loaf of Japanese Milk Bread, and ordered 2 drinks at the counter (Americano and iced milk tea, no boba). The workers were friendly and efficient. The total price for everything was not bad at all in my opinion (for fancy bakeries), $27.55. I wish I had taken a photo of the receipt because the individual pastries were priced well. Everything we tried from here was delicious. My stepmom bought a chocolate mousse cake for my dad's birthday, and it was delicious! The cake included birthday candles and a decoration to include on the cake when presented. It was boxed up nicely, and may have included a serving spatula (not sure). The cake looked very heavy but it was surprisingly light! Just make sure to come earlier, as they usually run out after 6 pm (but that's how you know they're good haha). I also really love the cakes and order them for birthdays every year. They are light, fluffy, and have the perfect amount of sweetness, making them enjoyable even for those who aren't typically cake lovers. When you order a full cake, you also get candles and a serving spatula! The tiramisu is my favorite. The location was clean, spacious, open, and filled with lots of yummy treats! The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful in our selections. Soufflé Cheesecake- first time eating this and has a cake like texture for cheesecake but slightly custardy is how I can describe soufflé. Not overly sweet and VERY appealing presentation. 5/5 Egg tarts come in 2. Sooo good, flaky and buttery crust and a thin layer of the egg custard is just sweet enough. If you're someone who isn't too into sweets this would be for you. 5/5 1 slice of the Coffee Brûlée Cake - LOOKS beautiful and is so deliciously smooth. 5/5 Brioche bread is honestly very large could probably get 7-8 slices out of it for a great price. Fresh bread! I love me some 85 bakery every week. It's such an easy gift to show up to your co-workers with a box of assorted goods. Everyone will find something they like if you just pick a variety of savory/sweet bread. The drinks are always good at any time of day. My personal favorite is the strawberry milk tea with boba. We came by here because we were attending an event in Little Elm and last time we came to this area we really liked the Asian shopping center with all the restaurants. My family has been to a few 85 degrees throughout Texas and love the drinks and pastries here. We came here after eating at Gen BBQ, and it was cold outside, so I thought I would get a hot beverage here. This place was kind of dirty, as tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned in awhile with all the food crumbs and sticky stuff on the tables. However, they looked short staffed, so I can overlook the the dirty tables. So why did I take 2 stars off? We had the misfortune to be rung up by an employee named Rita. First, when my son was looking at the snacks on a sheet a paper by the register, she moved the paper away from him as he was pointing at something to me on the paper. Next, when we she rang me up, she gave no smile, greeting, pleasantries, and really just lacked a personality in general. Look, I get it is the holidays and she probably has been busy with cake orders, it I didn't walk up rude to her and we didn't really ask her for anything complicated (2 hot chocolates) to warrant her rudeness. After she rang me up, she didn't say thank you, have a nice day, or anything that represented an appreciation for spending money there. I don't need them to roll out red carpet or anything, just pretend you care that I came to your establishment over the other two drink places I passed to visit the place you work at. Even though she acted like a robot with no personality, I still thanked her and told her to have a nice Christmas. As I waited for my drink I watched her be rude to a number of customers and pretend to be busy to avoid having to ring up customers at her register. At one point she let a customer stand at her register and told her after 2 minutes that she couldn't ring her up after this woman unloaded everything right in front of her. Then Rita continued to shuffle some papers around in front of her. I gave this 3 stars because the people making the drinks were nice and the drink tasted good. Would I actively seek this place out next time I come here? Probably not. I will just go to the other dessert and drink places in the shopping center who are more appreciative of their customers and don't serve their food and drinks with a side of attitude. read more
