    Garlic cheddar roll

Tried this place for the first time today. It was very busy and the employees were working hard. I was greeted with a friendly smile however. Since this restaurant is a big franchise it is a well-run machine. Lots of individual cakes, pastries and milk breads you can choose from shelving. They provide trays to pile up your choices before paying at the front. We each got a breakfast roll. I got the Jalapeño Cream Cheese and my husband got the Garlic Cheese. Both were fine, nothing to write home about. The bread was typical milk bread soft and mine had plenty of cream cheese and lots of sliced jalapeños. They have beautiful individual servings of cakes, etc. that are each in cellophane bags. I also ordered a vanilla latte and it was quite good. I gave this place 3 stars because despite the variety of menu offerings they all seemed to have the same base--white cake or milk bread. That's fine, but it also all seems very mass produced. We also found they didn't have enough seating. There are 4 tables, which wasn't nearly enough for the number of people in the store. We offered to share our table with a man. I asked him what he had and he said, "a messed up coffee order." He asked for coffee with extra milk and he got a cup of coffee and a cup of milk. He tried to explain to the server but she couldn't seem to understand what he meant. We talked to him quite a lot and he didn't seem to have trouble articulating to us what he wanted. He finally gave up and just paid for 2 drinks. He poured coffee into the trash and added the milk. This is a place it might be ok to grab a quick sweet, but I much prefer a more artisan bakery with food that doesn't appear mass produced.

Items taste odd...not fresh. Do you actually bake items there? Why does packaging say made in Texas?

It's also nice to have a place so close where I can consistently get milk bread.

At this point I've tried a number of things here and every one of them were delicious! The Japanese pancakes were so fluffy and fun, called ahead just to make sure they could make them right after opening but couldn't get through. THEY CALLED ME BACK IMMEDIATELY!! I have never had a food place care enough to actually call back if they miss a call. I was so happy with the pancakes too, nicely made and yummy. Their tiny cakes are all perfect too, I'm in love with each one especially the PDX rose! So bright and flavorful, with a beautiful outside that matches its taste! Can't forget the Japanese Cream Cheese Bun, it's soooooo good and the price matches the taste (aka good price for a good dessert). Not too sweet but still delicious! Just gotta make sure you eat it fresh, forgot to eat my last one for an hour and it got dry but still had its yummy taste. I super recommend this place!!

I was SO looking forward to taking my 10 and 11 year old grandkiddos here. They'd fallen in love…read morewith the fluffy Japanese eggy pancakes on a recent trip there. I added breakfast to this place while they visited me for a few days. We called in our order as instructed on the website. Unfortunately no Boba was available for on the pancakes. When we arrived I was disheartened to find the place rather small either intense heat of a bakery, which made the lone table inside with a meandering fly the least bit welcoming. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!

They have a great selection of pastries. The croissants are so amazing. You can tell it's a good croissant from all the fluffy layers. It's got a good egg wash on top which makes it crispy on top and soft and buttery on the inside. I also had to get the tiramisu latte. It was made to perfection. I like my coffee sweet so this was right up my ally. I also got a cookie and brownie. When you heat up the cookie and brownie a bit, it's a little taste of heaven! If you're in the area, don't sleep on this place. It's a must try!

I got the chocolate noir again because I loved the richness! It was delicious and strong! I also got their croissants this time! It was one of the best croissants I've ever had! It was light, airy, and the butter taste was not overpowering. It was fantastic! Yes, this area is a little more $$ but it's worth going and if I ever drop by an Artisserie Fine Bakery, I will get it (and try their other goodies, too!)
