I'll start by saying maybe I'm just not the target audience, although I enjoy asian food and bakeries are in my top 5 foods. So, you walk in, grab a tray and pick from individually wrapped bakery items, seems easy. Problem is nearly every customer in there just arrived on earth today. The line kind of goes in a U shape, with an island in the middle. People walk through and grab what they want and take it up to the counter, except people walk through and then push their way back the opposite way because they changed their mind. It creates this chaos and with everyone holding these big trays, it's just a nightmare. Now obviously this isn't the bakery's fault, although the spacing could have been better, but the items were just not good. The pineapple cake was drier than dirt and tasted like melon (looking at the ingredients, winter melon is an ingredient and pineapple is the last ingredient. I guess winter melon cake would confuse people? I dunno). The coffee cruffin was aggravating because the paper wrapper was basically baked into it. I'm peeling away tiny bits of paper trying to remove the wrapper and it's flaking away with a mess of creme and after a while I just gave up. Wife got two other things that were just ok (cookie bread and a danish I think). Can't see myself going back. read more

Having been many times to the very first US location which opened in 2008 I have since been to many outlets of this consistently good bakery café and was very happy to be visiting here and stumble across a brand new one. As a veteran of 85° I can say that this is one of the most outstanding locations that I have visited. The staff was amazingly friendly and courteous, and they had a huge selection, especially given that it was late afternoon. The drinks were made perfectly and the bakery items were as delicious as always. It is not a huge area inside, but plenty of room to fit in all the great items they have to offer. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. It was very busy and the employees were working hard. I was greeted with a friendly smile however. Since this restaurant is a big franchise it is a well-run machine. Lots of individual cakes, pastries and milk breads you can choose from shelving. They provide trays to pile up your choices before paying at the front. We each got a breakfast roll. I got the Jalapeño Cream Cheese and my husband got the Garlic Cheese. Both were fine, nothing to write home about. The bread was typical milk bread soft and mine had plenty of cream cheese and lots of sliced jalapeños. They have beautiful individual servings of cakes, etc. that are each in cellophane bags. I also ordered a vanilla latte and it was quite good. I gave this place 3 stars because despite the variety of menu offerings they all seemed to have the same base--white cake or milk bread. That's fine, but it also all seems very mass produced. We also found they didn't have enough seating. There are 4 tables, which wasn't nearly enough for the number of people in the store. We offered to share our table with a man. I asked him what he had and he said, "a messed up coffee order." He asked for coffee with extra milk and he got a cup of coffee and a cup of milk. He tried to explain to the server but she couldn't seem to understand what he meant. We talked to him quite a lot and he didn't seem to have trouble articulating to us what he wanted. He finally gave up and just paid for 2 drinks. He poured coffee into the trash and added the milk. This is a place it might be ok to grab a quick sweet, but I much prefer a more artisan bakery with food that doesn't appear mass produced. read more

Items taste odd...not fresh. Do you actually bake items there? Why does packaging say made in Texas?

We were in the Vancouver/Portland area visiting our kids and this was a new pastry spot close by the house...so we had to go try it out. It happened to be the their grand opening so you could tell they were still working out some of the kinks. The restaurant decor was beautiful and the pastries were wonderfully displayed. One area had the pastries and the other area had the drinks. There were no signs to guide guests on what to expect, but having been to similar establishments, I knew the drill. Trays were available for you to put your selections on and you pay at the register when ready. For convenience, there was a kiosk to order drinks. After ordering our drinks, the receipt did not print. We had to to ask the front desk for the receipt and was told we had to call their IT department. We felt their customer service was lacking and it was just a way to pass us along so they could get to the next customer. As for the variety of pastry selection and drinks, it hit the mark. We tried a variety of things and it was all very delicious. The milk tea boba I had was spot in and satisfied my craving! We may try this again the next time we come visit... we'll just order our drinks at the register versus the kiosk. read more

I wish I'd taken a photo.! and they had a large selection of desserts that we're going fast because this place is obviously already become very popular. I had some items from this "bakery" given to me by a friend. They were very okay. When I visited for the first time I was immediately struck by how most every baked item is enclosed in a cellophane package sitting on the self-serve shelves. This made me wonder if they even "bake" anything in the shop. Upon closer inspection, it looks like they do have ovens in the back with people working putting trays in and out of those ovens. When I asked why they wrap everything up like they do, I was told it was "corporate policy" for "sanitary purposes". I was told that dogs come into the shop with their owners, for example, and the cellophane keeps the dog hair off the baked goods. My jaw dropped. I was also told that I was not the only customer not liking the packaging, and I was told by the manager to contact customer service at the corporate office. She said that her feedback based on customer feedback would not be listened to, and I told her it wouild not be worth my time to go down that rabbit hole. I did not buy any baked goods and I won't go back. Bleu Door is closer, their products superb, and they keep their baked goods in a glass case and a real person gets them ready for you. read more

Two different occasions the workers have me the wrong drink. And it's so busy they don't even stop to see if the customer is trying to wave them down and ask for the correct order. If you buy drinks here, just expect it to be wrong. read more

Soft not overly sweet pastries and drinks you can customize with jellies and asking for adjusted sweetness level (like 1/2 sugar) and friendly staff. Bright and clean bakery very much like their other bakeries just on a smaller scale. Daughter had to use the restroom while there and it was nice and clean. I have been so excited that a bakery was coming so close to where I live. The anticipation was so destroyed by going here today. The process of grabbing a tray to put your selections on like a school lunch line was dissatisfying. People going back & forth in the line was chaos & when able to finally choose a couple of things to get in line it still was confusing. When it was time to get to the cashier I wanted to try a sandwich & I was told they ran out of sandwiches hours before. Such another disappointment. Finally found a place to sit & my fiancé & I had our cookies that were made from phyllo dough & they were dry & very boring. I'm so sorry if this is what is expected from a bakery nowadays. Not my kind of bakery. I'll keep going to the try & true places that I love. Will not return. read more

I did a quick walk through during their grand opening week. I picked up a piece of red bean bread, chocolate mousse, a croissant and a latte. The latte was bitter and I couldn't taste the vanilla syrup at all. I ended up tossing it. The red bean bread shell was nice but the filling was dry and tasteless. The croissant was alright but you can get a better one elsewhere. The chocolate mousse was very good but not good enough to warrant a second trip. read more

Insanely wide assortment of delicious foods and drinks. I got the Marble Taro smoothie today and like 6 pastries for 28 bucks. Everything was delicious. Milk Pudding bread is a must, same with the Ube bread. Mangotale and Berrytale also amazing. I went today on a Saturday at 2:30pm and it didn't feel hectic at all. People were walking around aimlessly grabbing food and it didn't feel chaotic, felt like you could do the same and take your time. The lines were short and fast.
