Stopped in the other day to pick up my free sea salt coffee. If you download the app they give you one free reward for this! Super awesome they were stocked with all types of goodies, and the girl who made my coffee with super sweet. I didn't grab any pastries, but I really want to try the mochi next time. It looks delicious! The sea salt coffee was really yummy. It's an Americano topped with sea salt foam and I found it to be surprisingly sweet in a good way. Overall, good service and yummy coffee. I came here today for the first time and really enjoyed what I got! The pastry doughs were so fluffy, light, airy! It was like eating a cloud. Everything was also very flavorful. Service was pretty quick ish. I ordered a coffee also and it was really tasty! The only issue I did have was the customer service was basically non existent. When leaving I said thank you, no one responded. Then my kid say thank you, no response. And same with my other kid. I looked up at the guy working and he smiled while looking down but didn't acknowledge us. No simple bye or anything to (forget me) but my kids, who are toddlers by the way. Found that rude. I'm a big fan of this franchise, however my experience at this one has turned me off. My husband and I arrived at 2:30 and I saw quite a few people waiting for their drinks (it should have been a big clue). After purchasing $25 of already made pastries, we order 2 coffee drinks to go. I only saw two gentleman working. One handling the bakery transactions and the other making the drinks. The transaction guy would assist with coffees if he was not busy. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks. This is not acceptable, especially with so many people ordering. read more

I stopped by this bakery place today to pick up my online order of the cheesecake and also get some more dessert that wasn't available online. I found parking just fine when I came. I got the classic Tiramisu, coffee creme brulee and tiramisu cheesecake. When I went to the store, I got their mango cotta cup and mango moose cake. The only issue I had here was waiting to pick up my order since it's where the drinks are and the person was making other people drinks. So I basically had to wait for her to finish making the drinks so she would notice me. My pickup order was already out, I just needed her to hand them to me. This is closer to a 3.5 rating and still a good visit. I stopped in on a Saturday evening and it was not busy. Mostly quiet ambiance. There were a few bakery items remaining on the shelves, but saw a lot more empty shelves than filled shelves. The cheese garlic roll is my daughters' favorite. I was able to redeem my VIP Quarterly Drink, an iced Jasmine Green Tea. The staff was provided standard service. The bakery could have used a restock since it was only 5:30 pm. Glad they opened a store in simi valley. Staff are nice and helpful. I took a star off because this place doesn't have that many selections compared to the stores located in LA. I bought a mango cake and it doesn't taste the same. The mangoes are sour and the cake has so much icing that makes you sick to your stomach. After stopping by this bakery first. A new favorite of his and our daughter-in-law's. One with a mango filling, the other berry. Trying the mango and some of the berry, both easily removable from their baking liners, I actually preferred the berry a bit more so than the mango But I will say that these rounded miny cakes are both thick and chewy. So exciting to see that there's an 85C nearby! The store is huge and located within a mall with very easy parking. Might have been the time of day, but the bread selection wasn't as wide as I would've expected and it didn't seem like there was a lot of fresh bread coming out. I dropped by 85 Degres today to snack on their Tiramisu and oh boy, it was bitter, sweet and creamy chocolatey combined in one gulp. They curate a variety of breads and cakes and also have a long lists of creamy drinks that can complement your sugary needs. Don't get me wrong, their baked goods and drinks are about the same and the store is generally clean and tidy. Staff were polite, nice and smiling as we ordered our cookies and drinks. We tried their Chifffon cakes and it reminded me of my childhood days when I feel I deserved a treat. One observation is their use of fresh fruits and vegetable to enhance their cakes and baked goods, one thing that will make you just want to snort them, in an instant. Their use of special flours and refined sugars enriches the tastes and smells of their breads and cookies. Prices is about averaged and not too expensive, parking is abundant and they're located in beautiful landscapes and malls wherever you may be. read more

Before, I had only been to the one in the valley on Tampa, and it was always a treat to go there to grab some snacks and boba during my lunch break or bring back to work for a meeting. What a pleasant surprise to hear the news that this location would be opening in Simi (of all places). I came through during their grand opening and it was packed, no surprise. Most of the free giveaways were gone, but I still got to fill up a bag of fresh baked pastries. The lines these days are not as crazy as back then, and the boba bar menu is pretty extensive. If you're not super hungry or craving a sweet snack, it's good to remember this spot. I've never bought a whole cake or anything in the display, maybe for the next special occasion. First tried 85C bakery in LA and was so happy to see them open in Simi Valley! Love getting the Vietnamese coffee, my BF isn't a coffee drinker but he gets the strawberry banana smoothie. While I like their baked goods, I'm finding their overall operation lacking in a number of ways. Dear Hubby, Adored Grandson and his lovely girlfriend, and I stopped in yesterday in the early evening to order dessert and coffee drinks. The store wasn't crowded at all. While we received good service from the cashier, it didn't feel like a great experience. In the dining area, where tables exist to eat in versus take out, every table had crumbs and drip marks. None had been cleaned in some time. Again, they weren't busy, so why wasn't one of the staff members designated to clean the tables? There doesn't seem to be any kind of hustle mentality at this location, as DH has noted a number of times in the past. I don't always want to have a pastry, but I do enjoy a nice piece of cake. Virtually all of their cakes have milk/cream, per the allergens listing in the display case. They are very reasonably priced, which is a definite plus, but some options for those who can't have dairy, would be appreciated. Similarly, they're not very well equipped for non-dairy options for their blended drinks. I ordered the caramel coffee smoothie, which they could make decaf, and with almond or soy milk, but the smoothie part is made with ice cream normally. I asked for it without, but it wasn't great. The texture was significantly off, and the drink was bitter without the ice cream to counter the acidity of the coffee. I'll not order it again. They don't really have another alternative drink in the blended category that appeals to me, or at least nothing that interested me last night. I decided to push the envelope of milk-included by ordering a piece of the Opera Cake. It was beautifully presented and was one of the best-tasting items I've had from 85 Degrees. That and mango cake are both excellent. As for ambiance, the interior of the bakery section is brightly lit and filled with wrapped pastries ready for self-service. You get a tray, pick what you like, take it to the cashier to ring up; works well. The dining tables section is just bland and functional; nothing special. Some little vases of flowers or tiny pots of succulents would elevate the space and make it feel like the "cafe" that's in their name. Sometimes less is not more! Also, this is a perfect time of year for some al fresco dining. But nope, no outdoor tables here. That's a miss for me. read more

The employee says people come in waves! While waiting for my drink. I had an opportunity to review the bake goods: this bakery offers whole cakes such as German chocolate cake, mango and more. They also offer a variety of bread items: nothing looked really sweet like a typical bakery. The refreshments seem to be cheaper than Starbucks. The boba tea drinks seem cheaper as well. My oolong tea with boba was good but I need to remember to tell them less sugar if I come back for another one. Limited seating inside. There is a long bar seating area and tables. Updated review, visit date 3/12/26 included on my purchase was a slice of cake. On the glass display where the cakes are located. It has the flavor and a price on a piece of cardboard. I had picked a flavor, then at the register the employee entered what seems like an item number to charge me. Mind you, on the cardboard display it says $x.xx amount. Upon charging me I immediately noticed a different amount. I brought it up to the employee's attention. She then grabbed the cardboard and saw what I was talking about. I was so excited for this location to open up as this has to be one of my favorite bakery chains. Always a go to stop! There's a great assortment of bakery goods and drinks at this location. Lately I've been favoring either the matcha mango latte or the matcha strawberry latte. Those whom are lactose intolerant, rejoice, you can substitute for oat milk or another alternative for a good amount of the drinks. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. This place is super casual. There's a limited amount of seats inside. This is more so a place to grab and go. Parking is easy; there's a dedicated parking area. There's also a drink kiosk to the left when you enter as a quicker alternative to ordering than at the register. read more

We've been to this location about 3x now since the past month (April 2024). First impression is how pretty nice to live across this store, to be able to walk and get their delicious goods and drinks - initially, I thought this could be problematic as parking can become an issue especially if one or more of the condos throw a party and guests park in the business location. But each time we've passed by, we have not had any trouble finding parking even when they were busy. First time here, the layout of this store threw us off. It is a very clean building inside and out. When we opened the door, it was confusing as there was a line of people on the left of doorway, a line in the middle facing the countertops on the left, a third line facing forward/in a zig zag for (the cashier line), and a 4th wrapped around line of people picking out their pastries on the right side. This location is a bit smaller than previous 85°C Bakery Cafes we've been to in LA, but they have decent options and just as delicious! We have bought almost every food item they offer and they're all priced well. We love their cakes and pastries - the white chocolate strawberry cup is my favorite! We have had their Mango Creme Brulee cake, Red Velvet cake, and Deluxe strawberry cream cake. All were very light and fluffy, not overly sweet! Drinks - we have tried their Taro Lavender Latte & Mango Strawberry Smoothie. They were great tasting. Service - usually quick, but the last time we were here, the line took a while as there was only one cashier available. The cashiers are usually friendly. The only sort of negative experience we have had was the very first visit. As we've never been in Simi area, we were going to ask a question to the female barista who was making our drinks, but she simply put our drinks on the counter and just ran so quickly into the back without even any eye contact or a word to us. This is the Simi Valley answer to Paris baguette and I love it. All my favorite stuff is the same, which includes croissants with sausages, bacon, and even hotdogs inside. You have sweet stuff.
