Visited last week with my husband. I got a banana pudding iced latte and he got the raspberry matcha. Flavor was not there for either. They tasted watered down. Once I finally got to the pudding in my drink - it was just ok. I'd like to go back and try the pudding another time on its own but I would avoid the drinks here going forward. The woman that took my order made my drink and actually made a mess of it when adding the pudding too. We made eye contact and she just threw the lid on and served it without cleaning the cup up so it was just covered in coffee and dripping which kind of sucked since I didn't want to stain my clothes. If we return and have a better experience in the future I'll update my review to reflect it. The cafe itself is cute. read more

I recently visited Schatzi Bakery & Cafe at the Simi Valley Town Center and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I ordered an iced mocha with almond milk, which seemed like one of the simplest drinks on the menu, but it tasted overwhelmingly artificial almost like syrup straight from a bottle. The drink wasn't mixed properly, and after drinking only about a quarter of it, I ended up throwing it away. Unfortunately, my stomach hurt afterward, and I was left with a strange aftertaste that lingered for quite some time. What was also frustrating was the wait time. There was only one customer ahead of me, yet it took about 13 minutes for my coffee to be made. From where I was standing, it seemed as though the baristas were reading instructions step by step, which made the process feel disorganized. The staff seemed nice and polite, but they weren't very personable or engaging. They came across as very timid, and overall there wasn't much interaction or warmth during my visit. The food selection was also very limited. For a bakery and cafe, I expected a wider variety of pastries, desserts, and meal options. The menu felt fairly small, which was disappointing considering how much potential the space has. That being said, the cafe itself is beautifully designed. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the atmosphere and decorations. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, board games on the tables, a small picnic bench area for children, a wall where guests can leave messages, disposable cameras for candid photos, and some really cute merchandise. The space is definitely family and pet-friendly. However, the cafe is quite small, and the seating felt very cramped. My chair was practically touching the person sitting behind me, which wasn't very comfortable. My outdoor table and chair were also dirty, and I had to wipe them down myself before sitting. Additionally, the outdoor area uses artificial grass over concrete, which made me question how sanitary it stays after spills and heavy foot traffic. I was genuinely excited to see a new cafe open at the mall and was hoping Simi Valley had found a new local favorite. While the concept and decor are adorable, my overall experience left a lot to be desired. I hope the cafe is able to expand its menu and improve the quality and consistency of its drinks as it settles into the community. Despite my experience, Schatzi is still a brand-new business, and I understand that there can be a learning curve in the beginning. The cafe has a lot of potential, and it's obvious that a great deal of thought and creativity went into the atmosphere and overall concept. I hope that, with time, the staff becomes more confident, the service becomes more efficient, and the quality of the drinks improves. Simi Valley could definitely use more unique cafes, and I truly hope Schatzi grows into the local favorite that many people are hoping for. read more

New bakery to Simi Valley, and for a change, something I would definitely return to... not that my waistline needs it ! If you love banana pudding (as I do), you would do well to give Schatzi's Bakery a try because they not only have it to sell, but they make it right here, so it's fresh, and it's the REAL DEAL !! They also have croissants (which are not my thing), and they have cookies, too, which I am always in the mood for. Their cookies are huge and interestingly shaped like discs. Their texture is soft, as I like them, and they have only 3 flavors that I know of... s'mores, lemon blueberry, and cookies 'n cream. Of the 3, I've tried the lemon blueberry, and it was tasty... and I tried the s'mores. It was good, as well. My husband is a croissant and danish guy, so I think he'll be interested in those items. In the meantime, I'll be eating my banana pudding. Glad this place came to our neck 'o the woods... nice to have quality desserts for a change. read more

I've been here once and it's my new favorite place to enjoy the morning! The cafe is located in the alleyway between Red Robin and CPK at the Simi Town Center. Recently, they had a widely attended grand opening. I suggested to a galpal that we give Schatzi's a try. Who doesn't want to enjoy a morning coffee and snack outside in SoCal! The shop is small and quaint yet bright and welcoming. There is seating inside although it is not conducive to a private conversation. They have some cute Simi Valley swag although $20 for a coffee mug is a bit pricey. I'd rather see the decor of the mug on a t-shirt for $25 and include Schatzi's Simi Valley! Anyway, for $10 they sell a red heart lock for couples to leave on a barrel in front. Service impeccable (Amelia!) I decided to try the banana pudding as my curiosity was peaked when I'd pass by their kiosk. It's not a pudding guys - it's a rich mousse atop banana and cake - rich and filling and delightful. You tell yourself I can't finish it, cover it up and seconds later? Off comes the top and you're digging in again! . The manager told me that each month they add a special flavor "pudding" - July was cookies and cream. I have to go back to see what August will be and I'm hoping strawberry. . If Schatzi's doesn't make it, it'll be our community's fault! Get to the nearest ATM, bring your debit/credit cards and go support this cute and pink bakery. They open at 6:30am-1:30 reopening at 3:30 to 7:30. Enjoy your morning coffee sitting outside in their courtyard or various seating around the town center. If you prefer dessert, walk off those pizzas and burgers after dinner! You won't be disappointed! Oh and they are looking for baristas and kitchen help! read more

One of our go-to spots in Simi Valley, the banana pudding was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being overly sweet. I also tried a few of their pastries, and every single one was fresh, soft, and clearly made with care. It's great to see a new local business that makes an effort to connect with the community, that kind of involvement makes me want to keep coming back. Went to the mall to eat and then try this place out on a Sunday. There are signs around the mall that say they close at 7:30 so we decided to eat and then get some desert here. We ate then walked over around 6:20 and they were closed, the sticker on the window says they close at 6:00. The door was open so we asked the lady inside about the signs saying open until 7:30 and she was pretty rude and said oh yeah the signs need to be changed. Maybe that should be a priority. Horrible customer service for a place that just opened. So apparently the owner is now, instead of taking responsibility, saying I shouldn't leave a negative review over a misprint. Why wouldnt I leave a negative review if I had a negative experience? Im not going to give you a food review if I didn't eat the food because of YOUR mistake? If I could give a negative review I would. How about an apology at least? Own up to your mistake. Also if that was the owner inside she was very rude, no apology, no sorry, just rudely said the signs were wrong. read more

Schatzi's is one of the best bakeries I have been to. Their banan pudding is perfection- we can't get enough of it! Their pastries are delishes, soft and fresh. My kids love their delishes cookies. Love all their coffee options and iced teas. I love bringing my kids and really the whole family. The seating area is so cute and relaxing. Saw this place had opened at Simi Valley Towne Center and picked up a loaf of sourdough. The sourdough was very good with a hearty texture and good flavor. We have also sampled their banana pudding at the pop up store in the past and that too, is very good. They also had a good selection of pastries and drinks that we'll try in the future. read more

Coffee is not good at all. Went the day of the grand opening and again today. First visit, I ordered an iced maple sea salt latte and an iced biscuits buttercream latte. They both tasted like watered down coffee with no flavor whatsoever. Just went again today hoping to give the drinks another chance so went with something different and ordered a brown sugar shaken espresso and an iced honey cinnamon latte. This will be the last time I get drinks from there because again they taste like plain watered down coffee. The banana pudding, pastries are great and the owners are very inviting. I was there for the first time today. Delicious pastries (best almond crescents I've had) and really good coffee. Everything is decorated so cute. We sat outside on the patio in comfortable chairs and table. The girls that worked there were super friendly and helpful. And they're dog friendly! This will be our new regular cafe. Brand new cafe in Simi! The banana pudding is out of this world 5/5. Unfortunately my biscuit buttercream latte was very underwhelming, it had very minimal flavor and it's disappointing that it did not look like the photo and have a full biscoff cookie on it. Just had some biscoff crumbs on top. With no cold foam and they did not offer whipped cream on top. The cafe itself is very cute and well designed with ample seating. The cashier was kind and had good service but the line does move very slowly. I also want to say there should've been some freebies or at-least a dollar discount for the grand opening. Lots of community members came together to support the opening of this business and at the very least they could've shown the appreciation through a small discount or treat. read more
