I ordered a cake ahead of time online and wanted to see if I can pick it up early, no one answers the phones. It's so annoying. That's like minus a star bc of that. Need better efficient customer service, I didn't want to waste a trip if my cake wasn't ready so it would've been nice if someone actually answered the phone. Also they don't have their number listed on the yelp page. It's only on the email to verify my order or u have to google it, so that's hella weird. Anyways I'll talk about the customer service when I got there. I am very confrontational so I did mention all of this to the front lady. The front desk handled it really well and actually had my order ready within 5 minutes of my arrival (I was about 45 min early from my original pick up time). I did bring it to their attention about no one answering the phone and she apologized as well and took accountability....so all is ok. Anyways the food... Their pastries and breads can't compare, they are very light and tasty, and I highly recommend the hot dog one, the egg tarts, the milk bun, and the strawberry bread pastry, it has like a strawberry cheese inside that isn't to sweet. I like all of them but those are my faves. Their coffee is pretty good too. The prices all increased from a couple years ago, but hey that's inflation again. The place is located in a nice little plaza where a ayres hotel, a lees sandwich, jack in the box and a pizza place are all around it. read more

I always come here on my breaks during work hours because the pastries are inexpensive and very yummy! the drinks are also very nice and refreshing at a good price. My favorites are the spinach kale pastry and recently i really like the grapefruit iced tea. However i will say that some of the drinks, specifically the vietnamese iced coffee were mostly ice and not enough liquid which was disappointing.... but it still tasted great so i cant be that mad. the same worker with glasses and a ponytail is almost always there when i go and they are very nice :) read more

Came in on a Friday morning at 9:30am. I wanted to buy a cake and good thing I came in that morning. I know you can order ahead of time but I wanted to see the cakes in person. The young girl in the front (Emira-I think/ sorry) was so sweet and helpful. There's so much to choose from and the bakery itself is full of goodies. Yes it may take awhile for your food and drinks to be made but it's worth it. The bakery is very clean and well organized. I will be back. Side Note: I didn't want to drive around with the cake in the car so I paid in advance and they held it for me till I came back at 11 after my shopping in the area. At my birthday, I ordered a cake a week before, and it was supposed to say " Happy Birthday, Gem " written on it, but no, to cover it up, when picking it up, the worker put on a little happy birthday sign on it and said they don't write on cakes, which is false, so don't count on it. read more

I went to 85 degrees yesterday with a friend. The store is nice, spacious, and clean. The service was a little short with us but overall not terrible. There seem to be a lot of bread options however today we were only here to buy a drink. My friend got the brown sugar oat milk latte and thought it was a little too sweet but it did have a nice strong espresso flavor. She states that she has gotten it previously and it wasn't as sweet so there may be some poor consistency at this location. I purchased the fresh strawberry milk tea with boba 50% sweet. Overall, I thought it was an okay drink. It was refreshing and the strawberry flavor was not too artificial. However, the tea flavor could have been stronger and the boba was horrendous they were too hard and seemed stale. Overall, this place was okay I would come in a pinch but I would not go out of my way for it. read more

I had a very odd & underwhelming experience this past weekend. Patricia S. was the cashier that DID not greet me back, upon ringing up my order; or my mother's order for that matter. It was clear she didn't want to be at the register. She either misheard my cake slice order or wasn't paying close enough attention, and got it wrong. But I was smart enough to check the slices while waiting for my drink order. I then went to the waiting area counter for drink pickups & was greeted by another, much younger, short female employee. I wish I would've gotten her name! I let her know the situation & she said she would FIRST need to confirm the difference in price & ask her manager if it was OK? Odd. They were the same price by the way. She then put the cake slice that I had already opened & handled, BACK for sale. She also gave me the correct slice. The pastries are definitely the same 85 degrees quality as the other stores and the staff is super polite and helpful. They seem to run out of their more popular items hours before close, so it would be best to get there earlier in the day for the best variety of pastries... and this is during the weekdays as well as the weekends. I needed to go to a store next-door and then I saw someone walk out with something that looked amazing... When I walked him, there was a hint of sweetness in the air. Of course I couldn't decide on anything I wanted. So I got a few different things. The ambience is like a Korean bakery. I'm not sure if you ever been to one, but they have everything on display with signage. Then there is a cold section for anything refrigerated......very sleek and modern. Service was well organized and they also had a cute kiosk so you could pre-order Boba if you wanted to. This is definitely a place you should try out if you're in the area. I always go here during special events such as birthdays and big christmas celebrations. I love the adorable packaging that comes with the cakes and goods. The atmosphere of the place is also very enjoyable. I love that walking in you could smell the scent of fresh baked goods and savory treats. My favorite to buy are the Brioche and Patato Croquette, very warm and comforting baked goods for the cold weather. It is always nice to order a refreshing taro milk tea along with the treats. I came in to get some drinks: sea salt coffee and sea salt jasmine green tea for an afternoon pick me up on a Sunday. I went in, started to line up, and waited until it was my turn to place the order with the cashier. At the time there was just 1 staff member that was tasked to man the register. But he had it under control. I placed the order for both drinks and waited for about 10 minutes for the drinks. There were so many other people as well waiting for their drinks along the wall. They have some seats available for you to enjoy the bread or drinks. There are also some seats available for people like me who come in, order the drinks, and then wait for the drinks. Apparently 85 Degree has their own reward app too where you can sign up to be a member to earn points, find the nearest location, and even order ahead of time (which I might try next time). The app is similar to Starbucks', where you can even add and save your card so that you can add funds automatically within the app. Both drinks arrive, it was pretty good. It's consistent with the other 85 Degrees that I've tried so far. I just wished the wait would be shorter but maybe I should try ordering a head of time on the app for my next coffee run. read more

I got the red bean bread and berry tale bread! The berry tale bread has a purple dot in the center of the bread and when you bite into it, it has a cream cheese mixture on the inside! The red bean bread has black sesame seeds and red bean paste on the inside! I also got a Sea Salt chocolate which was basically an iced hot chocolate with sea salt foam on top! The drink is a bit sweet but still good! The service was good and the ambiance is average! Tip: One of their restrooms broke down so I'm hoping it's fixed soon! 85° I always try to describe it as an Asian bakery because the food isn't as sweet as a American bakery but then I brought someone here that was lactose intolerant and they really couldn't find anything to enjoy. That would not give them stomach problems. There's not much as far as service goes you stand in a long line to pay and then you wait a while for your drink to be made if you ordered one. The whole thing is kind of set up but face style so you walk in and grab a tray and pick whatever sweet treats you want and then get in line and order whatever other things you want. We don't have one in Riverside luckily this one isn't too far of a drive because yes, the food is really addictive. I don't think they offer anything healthy so if you're trying to lose weight, better not to walk in and get started on something that will just bring on type two diabetes Lol you can actually buy so many treats that you could take them into work and they are individually wrapped Honestly, at this point it doesn't donuts costing over $20 so this place is just as good as a donut shop if not better Also, we jokingly referred to their little Desert cups as espresso cups, and we usually clean them out and keep them I love this place. I ordered 3 strawberry de leche drinks, and unfortunately they were very watered down. The texture wasn't creamy like I've experienced at other locations. By the time I tasted them, I was already home and too far to return to the store. It was very disappointing, especially since I was expecting the usual quality.
