Had a blueberry matcha here earlier. It was good. Service was good. They have nice lighting in here for pics. Cute little cafe.

The Female Staff Member up front is ALWAYS nice. Very helpful, attentive, and welcoming. Very spacious, great deals, food amazing. Love coming here!!!

    Promotion 5/1 to 5/3 only

We are so fortunate living in OC where there are so many great coffee shops available. I've been wanting to try LaKa Viet for a while and so far hadn't had an opportunity to visit. However, this weekend 5/1 to 5/3, they have a promotion BOGO salted foam coffee, and I can't wait any longer. I went in about 10:30am on Friday and there is only one person in front of me. I ordered to go and was in and out just a few minutes. Parking is ok at this time but could be terrible on Sat/Sun during lunch hours. I tasted the coffee and loved it. A little stronger in coffee taste than other salt coffee however still good. The price is great, only $6+tax and tip. Excellent!

Went in for the BOGO blueberry matcha special and was not disappointed!! The cream top was fluffy with a strong blueberry flavor and the matcha, while a bit grassy, was pretty strong and not too sweet considering I didn't adjust anything from the original recipe and the cream top and blueberry puree already added to the overall sweetness of the drink. The blueberry puree on the bottom was also amazing and tasted like real fruit! The portion was huge as well. Good amount of indoor seating and the chairs are pretty comfy. Located in a mini mall with lots of easy parking as well.

Banana pudding matcha and matcha eispanner

I have seen this place pop up on my IG all the time and last week, there was a promotion of B1G1 free of their banana pudding matcha so I have to give it a try. The matcha taste decent, however, the banana flavor didn't go through. Because they used fresh banana so the matcha kind of overpowered it. We also order a matcha eispanner and it is pretty good. The location is in a busy plaza so parking can be a little challenging. The place has sitting down area and has free Wi-Fi, a good place for study. Overall I would comeback if I'm in the area or they have another promotion.

We came tonight for the avocado coconut pudding dessert that we saw on YouTube. We expected the crowd to be as crazy as they said on YouTube and Yelp but it wasn't too bad. We were lucky to find a parking spot right away in front of the store. Now onto the dessert. The avocado coconut pudding dessert was very good but there was very little of it in a big cup. Mostly milk and/or coconut milk liquid mixed with plenty of ice, which was filled to just a bit more than a half of a cup. Dessert and all the stuff inside the cup is 5/5. Nice treat after our dinner at ZZ Hotpot. Pandan and coffee flavored jello pudding was just okay. Not sure if I wanted to get these again. Will try the matcha next time since La Ka Viet got a lot of compliments on their matcha.

Another cafe for the books. Came in and tried their matcha foam coffee and she was strong! They offer it strong or regular and the regular is all I really needed to kick start my day. It's a Vietnamese coffee shop, so if you're familiar with it..they know coffee! I'm curious to see how the strong is like. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking but there's numerous shops around that you'll have to look for a spot. They offer free WiFi and there's plenty of seating. There's also outside seating. Although I consider this a coffee shop, they also have Vietnamese dishes like banh mi, Bo ne and beef stew! I tried their meatball banh mi and to be honest, the filling and bread ratio was off. However, not too shabby for $6. I do wanna come back and try the other dishes. They don't offer any pastries or what not but they do have desserts.

    Bo Ne
    Anna T.

I've been craving Bo Ne and matcha and this is the spot! We tried 2 different types of matcha and coffee! We also got the Bo Ne. It wasn't bad but good enough. The baguette wasn't too dry either

La Ka Viet Coffee Café is a small, clean little spot tucked away in the back of an older two-story plaza -- definitely one of those hidden gems you have to know about to find. There's a dozen inside small tables and some wicker chairs outside. They've got a point-rewards of perks if you join their rewards program, and their menu is packed with unique drinks. They even offer ceremonial grade matcha and a wide range of matcha flavors (see picture). I'm a Ube (purple girl) so we tried the Ube Matcha -- it was so good and you can taste the quality of the matcha. The creamy, thickness of the Ube was perfect! I'm sure I'll be coming back for more. Quick Tip: there's a password for the bathroom, so don't forget to ask when you order -- so you don't have to stand inline again.

    M5. Matcha Einspanner
    Jacqueline D.

I showed up right at 8am when they opened and was greeted by friendly staff. It was my first time visiting and so the man working gave me a few recommendations for their top selling drinks. I decided to go with the eispanner matcha with light ice since that's been my to go drink. The matcha itself was subtle and not bitter , the cream on top was fluffy and slightly sweet. It was a bit more airy than I prefer, texture was more like a marshmallow but not bad. The interior was clean and stylish, with lots of outlets by all the seating.

Been here a few times to get some work done. This place gets busy but I have never had trouble finding a table to do work. The seats are comfortable, there are plenty of plugs for charging, and quick wifi. I ordered the pumpkin pie cream over the strong vietnamese coffee. The cream here is soooo delicious, I will be sad when pumpkin season is over. My friend got the matcha einspanner and we both agreed that it was way too sweet. This was my first time trying food here. My friend and I split the special sizzling steak and eggs plate. We got the steak medium rare and it was perfect! The plate was seasoned very well and the baguette was sooooo fresh!! Overall, the prices for the drinks and food are fair, and a great place to study!

The Beef Bowl with Ube Matcha and Strawberry Mochi Matcha
    Lulu T.

Their Beef Bowl with Pepper sauce is addicting and delicious! You have to come in and try it!! Cost is $10 take out or $13 eat in (more is given). Tell me if I'm wrong because it's my favorite dish there to eat with my daughter :) Food serving hours are only until 4pm. They reduced their variety of drink options in place of their more popular drinks that are mainly their Ube Matcha, Strawberry Mochi Matcha and Einspanier Matcha. Their coffee drink varieties are still there. Drinks are tailored to your preferences, therefore I go in and communicate what I like, for example I will say "less ice about 1/4, oat milk in place of whole and, etc." Communicate how you like your drinks if it is 1/4 ice, 1/8 oat milk, 2 pumps versus 4 of a syrup... you should know your preferences because they can't read your mind and taste is personal. However, this place genuinely has the top notch of all Matcha places you can find. You can study here, I have seen many doing so. The hours of when you do, you'll learn when it is feasible versus when they are busy. I would recommend studying here on a weekday before dinner 5-7pm.

My togo place for Viet Coffee ! Their salted coffee is the best here. I have tried many coffee places already, but I always come back to La Ka Viet when I really need good and quality coffee!

Walking into the shop, you're greeted with a dark gray concrete vibe with plenty of matching decor. They've got some multiroaster vibes too, which means they're slinging beans like Dak, La Cabra, and more! Robusta and Arabica heads can both rejoice! They've also got a nice little patio to just rest and relax at while you enjoy your drinks. I've had a few pretty deep conversations coming out of this place. Okay, even though I did come to a coffee shop, I did end up getting a hojicha latte that was roasty, nutty, and delicious alongside the vanilla notes that they add. Great choice for some of you who don't do so well with caffeine. It's easy to drink, and thoughtfully prepared! I got something a little different. It was a strawberry co-ferment espresso in a cappuccino ratio. You could really taste that strawberry come through, and having it hot and with milk was a perfect choice. Fruity, complex, and funky! Love to see places serving co-ferments. I don't think it's over-played in specialty coffee, and I do appreciate having the option! And, I didn't get it today, but getting a fancy pour-over at this spot really hits. If you coffee sweats like the fun stuff, you'll have plenty of that here! If you're looking for both fun coffee and great day, no doubt you should check out Re Ca Phe!

Not many places offer this combination, so whenever I see it on a menu, I have to try it. What I really liked about this one is how well balanced it is. The earl grey is light enough that it doesn't overpower the matcha, so you can actually taste both flavors clearly without one taking over the other. The Hojicha Vanilla Cream Latte was also really good. The cream on top was silky, smooth, and rich, adding a nice layer of sweetness that paired well with the roasted, nutty flavor of the hojicha. It made the drink feel really comforting and well put together.

I have this belief that if a bakery has a perfect chocolate chip cookie, everything else is great. My definition of a chocolate chip cookie has to have a crunchy outside, a good balance and amount of dark and milk chocolate chips , perfect sweetness level with the perfect ratio of brown to white sugar for sweetness and chewiness and the obvious soft and gooey center. Paderias is a 9 out of 10 for me and it never disappoints. My 2nd fav is their triple chocolate. Those two are hands down my all time picks. Keeping it simple: everything was absolutely delicious. As of the date of this review, this is the best Earl Grey Matcha I've had. It was perfectly balanced between the floral Earl Grey notes and the grassiness of the matcha. The Longanisa Burrito was hearty and came served with Kei Concept's aji verde sauce.
