85 is my favorite reasonably price bakery chain. The price, quality and selection is basically unmatched. I like both the savory and sweet section. While I like Cheese Hot Dog and Potato Croquette, I have to say the sweets are my favorite such as the Taro Marble Bread, Matcha Choco Bun, Choco Bread and Milk Pudding. Consistently, good. Lastly, I think their milk tea drinks are great for the price/quality ratio and really shine for the price. Tip: Don't use the tray because you will probably buy a lot more bread. I think it's better to eat small amounts of fresh bread so I encourage frequent small purchases. I think to many people buy to much at once unless they are going to some sort of party then it makes sense. But come on, they all can't all be going to parties. Restrain yourself! read more

I always enjoy going to 85C if there is any in a location on the way or nearby to where I need to go. This was my first time at this location and it seems like they had more of a selection than others that I have been to. Although it was busy, they were constantly bringing out baked goodies out to the self serve area. That is when you know everything is so very fresh here! So many varieties of baked goods and everything is reasonably in price. No matter what we have had, I don't think there has been anything we haven't liked. We bought a few of the berry cream and mango cream type buns, an ube bun, mini lemon muffins and another ube flavored type baked good..Sorry I don't remember the names as I somehow forgot to think of taking photos. They also have a wide variety of delicious boba and smoothie type drinks as well as whole cakes you can purchase from the case. Everything was clean and service at the registers were quick. I have been to this location multiple times and have never been let down. Which is why I continue to return , until today. I had been craving some coffee since yesterday and today finally decided I wanted some Vietnamese coffee from 85 degrees since I have had it already and really enjoyed it. Upon my arrival I instantly notice the long line which is normal for this location always packed, but I didn't mind so I waited in line for my turn. Once I was up at the counter I placed my order for a brown sugar latte and a Vietnamese coffee to which the cashier said he would check if they had any available I said that is fine. When he turned to talk to the girl making the coffees he said "do you know who to make the Vietnamese coffee?" , I was too far to hear her response but he returned to the register and just told me "the Vietnamese coffee is strong right now" to which I said that's fine because it is always strong. We waited to get our drinks , and I should have known there when all the people were getting their drinks and not us. Four parties that had come after us got their drinks and not us but I still stayed calm. We finally received our drinks and walked out as soon as I tasted it I knew it was trash. The girl indeed did NOT know how to make this coffee. It had absolutely no flavor just tasted like espresso shots on ice. It had foam at the top and it never has that. I have had this coffee MULTIPLE times here and never was it this way. So please tell your employees if they do not know how to make something , to say NO and not just wing it and ruin a drink for someone and waste their money for trash coffee. I was going to do a presentation at my workplace for a group of about 15 people the following morning, so I came the night before to buy the goodies. Usually when I come here my spouse does all the ordering. This time I was left to fend for myself. It was approximately 5pm in the evening, and the shelves were still pretty stocked. Since I wasn't familiar with their pastries (and some of the labels had fallen off) I just grabbed a little bit of everything. The Croissant Crunch, Sugar Cream Cheese Brioche, Apple Danish, Hokkaido Custard Bun, Coffee Mill Butter, Cocunut Twist, Chocolate Chip Bowl, Berrytale, they ALL went into the basket, along with other goodies. Walking up to the register I was trying to gauge the price of my purchase, and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised that it was just $30. I came here this past Sunday morning to pick up some pastries. As always, difficult to park in this shopping center and it was almost noon. I bought several pastries: berrytales, milk pudding, & apple pie. I also bought the strawberry cake & classic tiramisu slices. All the food was good, but just disappointed that the prices of everything have increased. The cost of the berrytale has almost doubled in the past few years. I am so sorry I never leave reviews but the Asian lady with the glasses who seems to be the manager there needs to be spoken to by the owners. When you lead a team YOU DO NOT discuss issues of the business in front of the cash register for customers to hear! You do not leave customers hanging waiting and you do not ever be rude to customers. I bit my tongue and didn't say anything back to her rude behavior because everyone has a bad day. But if she doesn't learn now to not behave like that in front of the cash register with her male employee who was left doing multiple tasks, he also appeared miserable. **Disclaimer: I have an extensive background in food&bev jobs, mostly coffee/tea, so I have experience and also a certain expectation for customer service/problem solving. My bro ordered me a sea salt Jasmine green tea, and he ordered a sea salt coffee (both are in the same menu section, so he was only looking at that part of the menu while ordering) and he stated sea salt for both drinks. Got our drinks, and mine was a regular Jasmine. I asked him if she read the order back to him before paying to make sure the whole order was correct, she didn't. Looked at the receipt, only charged for a regular Jasmine. Fine, fixable, not a big deal to ask for a change of drink. I understand he could've looked over on the screen to review the order, but a cashier should also ask if everything on the screen is correct, reread the whole order, etc before receiving payment to avoid miscommunication, which was not done. Seems to me she only cared about finishing the transaction asap, even though we were the only people in line on a slow Monday. I took it to the cashier and told her in a very calm, courteous tone that we actually wanted both sea salt but was charged for only sea salt coffee, then asked if she could refund the unopened Jasmine and we'd pay for a sea salt gt, rather than expect her to change it to a more expensive drink for free as more entitled customers would demand. I know customers say the wrong thing sometimes, but the cashier - girl w dark hair, low ponytail, black thick framed glasses, black zip jacket working July 8 around noon I'm calling you out - IMMEDIATELY reacted very defensively and accused my brother of not ordering correctly. Her response was unprofessional and inappropriate. We weren't trying to accuse her of getting the order wrong, it was miscommunication since there are 2 types of Jasmine gt on the menu. And it's not like I ordered a completely different drink lol one is plain, the other has sea salt foam on top - easy to mix up. The main point was we didn't want that drink and wanted to pay for the right one. She refunded the drink, charged for the new one, we got it and left but I'm quite baffled with the attitude we received when I just wanted to get the drink I wanted. This location their breads are fresher. We ordered the 8 inches Classic tiramisu back to back two weeks in a row for my brother's birthday & Mother's Day weekend celebration. I drive 25 minutes out of my way to get a drink; they make a great Sea Salt Jasmine Tea. I have been really concerned with their cleanliness though, to the point that it's starting to make me second guess myself on where to get my drinks. Every time I go it seems to be dirtier than the time before. I went today and noticed every table was really dirty and had so much trash and food under them like they didn't sweep or mop last night. The counters were not wiped and had cup stains all over them. I enjoy coming here and hope that the staff starts caring about the cleanliness of the location and the well-being of their customers. The Bakery definitely has some different pastries compared to your average bakery and their cakes are good quality as well. However, there were definitely empty shelves and limited variability. I came here today on May 12, 2023. Beautiful bakery, hands down. Excellent little goodies to snack on. The bakery is very clean and the employees are nice and friendly. This was my first time here with my son, and we love it. Great prices for all the fresh bakery items. My favorite bakery item is the matcha bread, mango bread, and the taro bread. Tried this place for the first time this weekend. My family and I grabbed a few different things and let me just say be prepared for tons of those pastries to have some type of filling in them! Lol I'm 50/50 with this bakery because a lot of the pastries are an acquired taste. The service wasn't anything to really talk about. They just ring you up. Wish there was someone to be on the floor and talk about the different pastries and offer help.
