Went for lunch while out shopping and had the turkey driver and it was soooo good. A big fat burrito with just the right amount of condiments (on a sun-dried tomato wrap) Also had a bite of the flaming lip and that was 10/10 too I would get that next time. Amazing quick burrito - only took about 3 mins to come out. We opted for the vegetarian B.Y.O., made with real white cheddar, a killer aioli, a toasted tortilla, and super fresh ingredients. I always appreciate restaurants that start with a vegetarian base and then charge to add meat, meaning that we're not paying for meat we don't eat. Amazing coffee as well. Cute shop to sit in or do work, and I highly recommend to anyone in the area! read more

Hey, there! Still here and still loving 86 This! In May, I gave birth to my daughter at the Maine Coast hospital in Ellsworth. I was so, SO happy to find a voucher for a free meal for my husband and myself in the mix of things you leave the hospital with. I don't know if 86 This offered this to the hospital or what the arrangement is, but wow, brilliant marketing. It may seem silly, but that free meal was like a hug and a big old high five for giving birth. So awesome! I love that they support local moms. I love their food, I love everything about this place! Wrap, burrito, and nacho restaurant in downtown Ellsworth, ME. Went there for lunch and it can get super busy. Most of the orders seemed to be takeout. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I got the BYO burrito while my wife got the BYO nachos. Be careful when doing this because it can get very pricey when adding all the items you want. We did ours as BYO because we wanted our food a specific way. The food will not disappoint. Super flavorful and fresh. A must try if you're in the area. read more

I really wanted to give it 4.5 but I went up. This place is really good. The food is delicious and it is really popular during the lunch rush. They have some great options and the chef did a great job. The rice bowl (wrap made in to a bowl) is great - just the basic bowl and added avocado. I thought the salad was blah but that was the only thing. I didn't think the hostess was the nicest but the rest of the crew was great and very accommodating. Ready fast, always delicious, super filling, nutrient-dense, and perfect for adventures. Two of these burritos even made the climb up Cathedral Cliffs to the summit of Katahdin with me -- talk about trail fuel! The food here is amazing! Found 86 This when searching for good, vegetarian lunch places in the Deer Isle and surrounding areas (not much in Deer Isle itself). I got the Yam I Am on a Sundried Tomato Wrap and it blew me away. The yams were perfectly seasoned, all the ingredients fresh, and the best part, my burrito was NOT soggy (unlike Chipotle, Moes, and tons of other wrap and burrito places I've frequented over time). The perfect place for a vegetarian looking for a quick lunch or dinner. The service was great, very friendly, and the line was non-existent. The bathrooms leave something to be desired style wise, but they had some cool posters for local events up and even a mini seat attachment for kids (or people with small butts). Husband and I went here for an early dinner. There were a few people waiting for their orders and a few people in line. The counter lady stated right off it would be about 20 minutes before we got our order. I really appreciated the update front time frame. Well it was not that long maybe 10 minutes, we were pleasantly surprised. I got the roasted tomato soup, and my husband I both got the BYOB with chipotle pushed chicken. The burrito was very funny, the first bite was very yummy! Loved the house chipotle crème, very tasty. The roasted tomato soup was really good as well! Rude service towards tourists. They have a massive back patio with wide space between tables and won't accommodate dogs. When I asked for advice for a place to take the food to go with my dog or a local alternative restaurant, they simply said "no" - the restaurant wasn't busy, they didn't have any other customers to serve. Absolutely skip this if you're not a local, this is not the hospitality I expect for a small coastal town in the off-season. read more

Great spot!! Lots of offerings- affordable and the burritos and wraps are way more than one person can eat in one meal. It generally takes me 3 meals to finish one. The Yam I am which features sweet potatoes, cheese, rice, black beans, avocado, pico and crema is outstanding. The taste melds well and is very satisfying. They have a great selection of fox family chips and pellegrinos. They even have cookies! The service was horrible, the lady who took out order was so snappy and short to me. Cutting me off and giving me dirty looks. Once I got my $17 burrito it was tossed at my by the sloppy gentleman. Adding to the fact a pervert was banging on the bathroom door and trying to pry it open while my sister was inside causing a scene throughout the whole restaurant. This is an amazing place. So reliable. My visits here are in frequent, but I'm never disappointed. We had sandwiches here today and soup and they were both such high-quality. The turkey driver sandwich is absolutely delicious. Fresh. Great spinach wraps around their sandwich. Their red pepper soup was just as delicious today. Perfectly seasoned. Great ambience. 86 this has really big burritos lol but they are not just huge but they are delicious too and made with good quality ingredients. I also really enjoy their black bean hummus and chips as a side or a to go snack. They have outdoor and indoor seating and it doesn't feel super congested to eat inside or out. Rating is 3.5 stars. We ate lunch here, we both had a bowl of the Spitting Venom chili and split an order of nachos. We added cheese (upcharge) to the chili. The chili was good -- smoky with ground beef and sausage, flavorful but not overly spicy (but I like really spicy food). There was a generous serving of tortilla chips with the chili. The nachos were just okay -- the pico de gallo was not very flavorful--mushy tomatoes with a little red onion and a touch of cilantro. I'd go back for the chili and to try the wraps. Decent selection of canned beverages, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Nice industrial feel to the restaurant with tables and at the window seating. read more

I commented casually to my wife that The Boss Hog may indeed be the best burrito wrap I've ever had. I will stand by this statement. Easily two meals, the pulled pork is cooked to perfection with spices that are nothing short of sublime. The cabbage, the rice, the beans, the crema--exquisite. My wife thoroughly enjoys the Yam burrito and I can vouch it is indeed delicious and generous in its helping. Although I really enjoy lobster rolls and seafood, their flavors are a bit delicate and light. I really wanted something with more flavor, and this place hit the spot. The burritos are packed with flavor and just nicely packed/wrapped. It is like a Chipotle/Qdoba, but made with more care and with more stronger flavors, which I was craving. My crab quesadilla was amazing, made better by the side salad, guacamole, and cabbage salad. We also has a carnitas and a carne asasa burrito, which were stuffed full of tasty ingredients. While they don't sell alcoholic drinks, you can get them at the close by store and have them with your meal, or BYOB. But their selection of non alcoholic drinks is plenty! First, my review. As vegetarians, we rarely get to enjoy the hip gormet specialty eateries that open in Maine, and we understand that this is because places need to keep their costs under control by limiting their menus. '86 This!' owners Jeff & Diane bucked that trend. They went a step further and did more than simply just put a token option on the menu; they also allowed endless possibilities with the BYOB ("build your own burrito") option. We can't tell you how much we appreciate that. But far past simply having *access* to more food, the food itself was AMAZING. I have been fortunate enough to experience chef Jeff Kelly's creations before--as I know many in Maine have--but the fact that this restaurant is his brainchild really shows in the food. Every bite of the 'Yam I Am' wrap was flavorful and special... and that was my wife's order. The reason I mention this is because I've never especially cared for yams, but the way Jeff prepares them would make anyone a convert. Seriously. The last point I want to make is in reference to another reviewer. He mentioned that he gave a reduced review because there were no tortilla chips with his order, and the counter person looked confused when he asked if chips (and then later salsa for the chips) came as a side with the burrito. While I understand the reviewer's confusion, it seems a bit unfair to hold against '86 This!' the fact that they are a different style restaurant than he expected. This place is amazing! I most always get a Rock-A-Billy or a Build Your Own burrito. Everything is made right in front of you. Although I'm typically vegetarian, every once in a while I'll treat myself with the meat. Both the chicken and pork are marinated and cooked to a point where it's so tender it melts in your mouth! The flavors are superb! Also, I love that there are a few different options for the wraps. I love the spinach one. And the chipotle sauce... wow.
