For years, my wife and I had been craving Mediterranean food, but we couldn't find any in the Bar Harbor-Ellsworth area. Then we learned that this restaurant had recently opened, and we just had to give it a try. It's a small place, with a few tables inside and several large picnic tables with umbrellas on a side lawn set back from the street, a surprisingly pleasant spot to enjoy a meal. We were greeted warmly upon arrival by a gentleman who was probably the owner. The menu is still fairly small, though we were told it will be expanded later in the season. We started with the carrot tarator, a yogurt-and-carrot spread served with warm pide bread. Whatever else was in it, it was outstanding. For our main courses, we ordered the grilled Adana and köfte. Both were flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The sauce served on the side was excellent and complemented the dishes perfectly. Desserts aren't available yet, but they're expected to be added in July. To finish the meal, we had Turkish tea served in traditional armudi (pear-shaped) glasses. It was enjoyable, though a bit lighter than what my Turkish friend introduced me to. Personally, I prefer a stronger brew that showcases the deep red color for which Rize tea (Rize çayı) is famous. I usually add a little mint and cardamom as well, but that's just my personal preference. One other pleasant surprise: by Bar Harbor standards, the prices are quite reasonable. And for those who prefer it, there are seafood options on the menu as well. We'll definitely be back. read more

What a great find! Excellent food and even better environment, at a reasonable price. I had the Donor Bowl with chicken, and my husband had the lamb and beef skewers, and then we shared a lentil soup. Neither of us eats rice so they gave us extra salad. They also let us try the wings, as they did not have enough for an order (make sure you get there early if you want them!) and they were really amazing... juicy yet crispy outside. Casual place - in a very good way! Turkish food was great. Had the lamb/beef skewer. Great taste combo, with seasoned meat and just the right amount of grilled/charred flavor. Came here for lunch. It wasn't good. We ordered inside and went to seat outside. Ambiance is very laid back. They have a few indoor tables and a few outdoor tables. Service was ok. They just bring food out for you. That's all they do. Unfortunately food was very disappointing. Lentil soup was very watery. Chicken bowl had almost no chicken. Not a great place to go. We came here for dinner as we wanted a quick bite after being out all day and saw they had vegetarian options so got excited. We got lucky and were able to get a table to sit at. It is a bit small inside but there are a few tables if you want to dine in. The service was just OK - you order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. My friend and I both got the falafel sandwich with fries and it was just ok. the falafel inside wasn't cooked that well and the outside was extremely crunchy and a bit overcooked in our opinion. The fries were not salted but they were fine. Not sure that I would go again if I was near by, or I would get something apart from the falafel for sure. read more

We felt very welcome when we walked in. Our server (who may have been one of the owners) was very helpful accommodating my dietary restrictions. My chicken bowl was bountiful and flavorful. The tasty yogurt and herb sauce was not one I had encountered before but I hope I will again. It was a good value. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating and we were able to enjoy a world cup game on their two televisions. I would definitely return if I ever get back to Bar Harbor. read more

We stopped in Limon and promptly received service. There is limited interior seating, but it is comfortable and cozy. There are outdoor seats to the left of the restaurant. The menu is simple, but contains a number of good offerings. We both elected for the chicken skewers and added a side of hummus. The pita bread and hummus was excellent. The chicken skewers were thigh meat, which was not our preference. Thigh meat can lean a bit on the rubbery side and this was no exception. Certainly still edible and to be expected, but not the same texture one expects when envisioning chicken breast. The chicken skewers came with a large piece of pita bread, a side salad, rice, and what seemed to be a yogurt, cucumber, lobster sauce that was surprisingly quite good! We ate dinner at Limon Grill tonight. We wanted to try something different our last night in Bar Harbor. It is no frills with two tables and bar seating inside. They have picnic tables outside. We split three meals across four of us as we had a late lunch. We enjoyed a Grilled Kofto, Donor Sandwich, and a grilled beef/lamb skewer. The flavors were all very good. We got dinner one night during our Bar Harbor vacation. We both got the chicken doner box, and it was super tasty. Big portion too. Walkable from the touristy area, and great service. We dined in, and there is limited seating, but service is fast. I think they also offer take out. Don't pass this place up! read more
