There was only one bottle left in the fridge and I got it to try it out! It said 0 grams of added sugar and when I tried it, the green tea was not even sweet at all. It did not really taste like your average lemon tea like Brisk Iced tea. The lemon was so subtle that you could barely even taste any lemon. I mostly tasted the green tea instead. It had a weird taste in my opinion. I thought I tried it out but I don't think I would be getting this in the future. I will just stick to the green tea, jasmine tea, oolong tea, and cold brew matcha tea from Ito En! The best thing about Teso Mini is that it sells the Ito En green tea bottles for $1.99 each! Other places cost more than that so I'm very thankful Teso Mini has Ito En at a cheaper price!

They have a lot of the standard vegetables you'll find in non-Asian NYC groceries, but obviously it's mostly Asian vegetables so this probably won't be your only produce stop. They have a few packaged Chinese goods in the back but not much, so I usually hit up Hong Kong Supermarket after I come here. Warning: this place gets pretty insanely crowded from time to time. OK, who am I kidding, it's always insane. Don't be shy and push your way through the crowd like everyone else.

That appeared to be just a temporary change, as they reopened most of the store behind it with new areas for the fish market, a downstairs filled with dry goods and candy, and new aisles for cold and frozen goods. Overall, I'm not sure of the current layout if it's better or not, but I do like having a full-fledged supermarket back on the block. Still okay on the prices, but you can often find seafood at a dedicated seafood store cheaper, and vegetables I'd still go down by the Manhattan Bridge. But still, not too bad.

I did pick up a ton of canned goods, which I then later regretted when I was walking home carrying all my goodies, but definitely worth it. And for 20% off, can't complain. Just don't go expecting a full service grocery store while they are renovating. I tried asking how long, or when they would be renovating. Tucked away in what is essentially an alleyway, Bangkok Center Grocery is not a flash store. It's roughly rectangular in shape inside and the aisles are pretty cramped, but that's a good thing! This means they have a lot of variety. In previous trips I've had to look for fresh lemongrass and galangal. On my most recent trip I needed pandan leaves, which they carry in abundance! The owner is a very nice guy who is happy to answer any questions you may have. I recommend bringing cash to pay. I'm glad Bangkok Center Grocery has lasted over the years. To me, it is a critical part of the Chinatown landscape.

While the tourists are out on Canal trying to haggle for a better price, Han May does a great job of strictly catering to locals. Their inventory always seems abundant and I've yet to come here and not find something on my grocery list. Most of their best selection is through fruit and one of the better times to come is during weeknights where there is less pedestrian traffic. The people here are super nice and know how to pick out quality goods. One time I was here and the woman refused to give me something that she knew was beat up or outdated. She later offered to sell me a similar fruit at 1/2 the cost. Good customer service and fresh produce are among the many reasons why I'm a repeat customer.
