pretty good kbbq! line can get long during peak dinner hours. you can add your name to the waitlist! inside is a cool ambiance, music is playing and people are eating away food was good, we liked the egg and side cucumbers to accompany our meats . the soups were also not bad. we didn't like that the belly meat came marinated so we had to keep changing our grill because it kept burning. but other than that, a solid place for ayce kbbq

I've eaten more than my share of Korean BBQ around the SGV and 88Q just hits so nicely! They have a great selection of authentic side dishes, service is fast, food quality is high, the soft serve ice cream to top off the meal is a must and most importantly... they have kept the place clean and you don't feel that greasy feeling that you get at other BBQs. And, take advantage of the Toast online wait list.

We were a party of 6 so upon arrival, had to get on a waitlist Sunday night. I suggest coming early to find parking because the parking situation is not the best! The interior was super cute and love the vibes. As for service, some servers were very accommodating replenishing our side dishes and asking questions while some others did not seem like they wanted to be there or help. For food, we got majority of the Set A menu list and had the beef brisket, bulgogi, pork belly and etc. My favorite was the pork belly and bulgogi as they were quick to bring out and also delish! My friend got the soju lychee slushie which was refreshing and yummy! At the end, we were given vanilla ice cream, though there were other flavors available but not that day. I would come here again to try out the other sets!

Service was phenomenal and definitely their strongest point. Server was friendly and very observant. Food is good, but comparable to places that are far cheaper nearby.

Had a celebratory birthday dinner here with my sister! Joe was our server today, and he was extremely helpful and proactive! He brought us almost everything without us ever having to ask (waters, refills on the rice paper, etc). When I ordered my drink, he noticed it was my birthday while checking my ID and even said happy birthday! How sweet! The meat were very high quality! We only tried the beef brisket, beef belly, and pork belly but they were all fresh and had beautiful marbling All of the kitchen sides were wonderful too! The tofu stew was very spicy and had plenty of tofu (some places barely give one-two pieces). The steamed egg was light and fluffy. The fries were very crispy and not salty, which was perfect! For soju, the Viet coffee was pretty strong! It was really rich and creamy, which I appreciated :) Also, the restroom (at least the ladies' room, but I'm sure the men's has it too?) has a mouthwash station where you can press a button to dispense the cutest, tiniest paper cup for disposable mouthwash! So innovative! Thank you 88Q!

100/10 !! the best Korean bbq spot I've been to! All of the meats are so tasty and the sides from the kitchen are so unique & delicious! I've tried set A and set C so far and you can't go wrong with either one. Set C is a bit pricey but totally worth it. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The interior is decorated so nice, and we've never had to wait super long!

Food were all delicious. Meat were fresh and tender. Banchan and sauces were tasty. Service was readily available for orders and grill change. The place has a good space and it's well lit. We really enjoyed our saturday lunch here.

Best KBBQ around! Super fast service and prices are more affordable than other places for the variety of items you can order on the menu. Prices range from $38 for the Set A to $62 for Set C (highest tier that includes seafood). I also love the soups, steamed egg, and the banchan dishes. All the dishes are fresh and delicious! The restaurant is pretty big so great for larger parties and I love how smoke-less it is so no worries about inhaling all the smoke and getting your clothes smelly. The lines can get pretty long so make sure you utilize their wait list system to eliminate long wait times.

I wanted to try a new kbbq spot so I decided to come here after seeing the diverse variety on their menu. There were different tiers that included better items, with set B being the most enticing for us. I joined the waitlist for a party of 13 & waited around 30-35 minutes before being sat at 7:30PM on a Friday night. Our server promptly greeted us and explained the menu to us. She also took our order right away & the banchan was already set up on the table. They had a good variety, ranging from cucumbers to kimchi to potato salad and even japchae. Our first round was mainly beef brisket & thin pork belly. Both of them were alright, not the best of quality but it was still delicious. The star of the show for me in the second round was their steamed egg. Next, we ordered galbi, beef tongue, & pork jowl. I was not a fan of any of these meats. Then, we tried their flat iron steak which was extremely gamey. By this point, we had almost tried everything & I was not impressed by any of the meats. Our last order was their pichana steak, which happened to be the best and my favorite meat on set B's menu. If we had tried this earlier, I would've only order this and their brisket. Overall, I would come back if I wanted to do ayce for kbbq. It is quite far from me so unless I'm extremely craving their pichana, I would make the drive for this.

88Q Korean BBQ is super popular for sure. Came here for a birthday dinner and we had to wait over an hour to get seated. The place inside is quite large with nice comfy padded booths. You cook your own meat and have exactly 90 minutes to eat some Korean BBQ. All of us had a good time here and I would say the meat was tasty. You also get dessert at the end with a scoop of ice cream.

Banchans at the start with very clean booth and table even when busy!
    Mason W.

The cuts of meat are consistent! The pricing of menu sets are SUPER fair! And freshness of ban chan is good! I'm coming back 10/10 Just know parking is very crowded and a narrow strip of spots inside the restaurant it is spacious and cozy for private conversations. Thank you to our server for your great service! Hubert was always refilling our side dishes with what we wanted

Was super craving Korean bbq and husband found this place on yelp! Glad he did! It was absolutely delicious. We came on a Friday during lunch and were seated rather quickly. The restaurant is very clean and you don't leave here smelling like bbq which I love. Our server Nicole was great! Super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed along with plenty of grill changes. The meat quality was pretty good, we got set B which is the middle tier. Had everything we needed to satisfy our cravings, well... my craving. The only meats I didn't care for were the pork items and the prime brisket which I found pretty tough. They had a good selection for kitchen items. The spicy tofu soup was good but a bit on the oily side. We loved the kimchi fried rice and the steamed egg. Will definitely come back and recommend you give it a try!

My son's family took me and my hubby to this wonderful AYCE Korean restaurant in RH. Since we came at off peak hour, we got the table within few minutes. As soon as we sat down, Cassie, our server, greeted us with a beautiful smile. She took the order real fast and within minutes food started coming. We got the premium brisket, flat steak, beef bulgogi, beef belly, steamed egg.. The meat was fresh, high quality with all the marbling. So tender and juicy. Love the salad, brisket sauce too. Cassie was attentive, she was frequently checking on us if we need to order more or to refill our water. Food came out fast too. At the end of the meal, everyone will get free ice cream With good food, good service. What's not to like? We'll definitely come back.

I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, and my first impressions walking in was the interior is clean and pleasantly warm. I ordered the creamy mala seafood pasta since it was the most unique dish on the menu. Service was good but nothing special. Creamy mala seafood pasta, 2.5/5: The pasta was inoffensively average. There were some bites that were creamy and some bites that weren't. I honestly thought it could use more cream or butter to add some more richness. The pasta itself was al dente. There wasn't much flavor overall with the dish, and the mala was very mild (for reference, I can handle medium spice levels at other restaurants). The seafood quality was okay for the price. Overall, I thought the ambiance was really nice, but the pasta I ordered was average at best. Maybe I will give this place a 2nd chance and try something else.

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. The noodle is very soggy, there's really no texture to it. I know there's the word "noodles" in their name, but we definitely do not remember this noodle option at all. The tom yum soup was not great either, the spiciness is way too strong, so you can't taste much of the sourness. The seafood variety was ok, there are shrimps, fish fillets, mussels, squid, and fish balls. The texture of the squids and fish fillets tasted a bit weird. Their service was nice though we got sorted at a corner, so we had a hard time getting the staff's attention. The restaurant has a very unique decorations. There are a lot of figurines, pictures and statues. Overall, their dishes are either really good or the complete opposite, not sure if I would want to go back again.

My husband has been raving about this place every since his first visit, so I was super excited to…read moretry it. During our visit, we went with the Chef's Recommendation menu and also added mentaiko buttered scallops. I love the interior of this place. The service was also impeccable. Braised Beef Tongue - Practically melts in your mouth Wagyu Carppacio - This dish had so many textures to it. You have the raw beef carpaccio, the salad with sauce on top adds flavor to it, and finally it has the Lays chips on top to give it some crunchy texture. Japanese Wagyu Sukiyaki - My favorite thing from this evening. They do such a great show of preparing this for you and you get a dipping plate with a raw egg to get all the flavors in this. The sukiyaki sauce in the bowl was super flavorful and strong. Wagyu Short Rib - This definitely tastes better using the spices they give for your meal. It's more on the lean side so it was very easy to eat iWagyu Prime Short Rib - This has a little bit more fat and on the chewier side when ate plain. But with the dipping spices, it definitely brings out the saltiness the meat needs Wagyu Bibimbap - The staff will mix this in front of you and make sure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed so you can get a little bit of seaweed, wagyu, sauce, and rice in every bite. Of course by the time we got to this, we were way too full so I only got a few bites in before I had to call it and to-go the rest. Mentaiko Buttered Scallops - This was amazingly creamy. However I did make a mistake by adding this to the chef's recommendation. The Chef's Recommendation is curated where everything compliments each other. The mentaiko buttered scallops had their usual strong salty taste and super creamy due to the butter, but it was too strong when added to the Chef's Recommendation that I could barely eat it during the meal. Our next return, I will go with just the chef's recommendation to avoid messing up the balance. But the chef's recommendation was curated very well if you're not sure what to get! The bibimbap and sukiyaki were the chef's kiss

Overall, the food was excellent, even my Asian parents, who can be pretty critical when it comes to Chinese food, gave most dishes high marks. The crispy noodles had great texture, the West Lake beef soup was comforting and flavorful, and the eggplant portions were generous. The service was what I'd describe as classic Chinese restaurant service. The waitress came across as a little rushed and occasionally seemed slightly annoyed, but she was still attentive and accommodated everything we asked for without any issues. Our food came out at a reasonable pace, and we never felt forgotten or had to chase anyone down. The atmosphere had its own unique charm. The restaurant was playing early-2000s hip-hop while a Chinese gangster drama played on the TV, which made for an unexpectedly entertaining backdrop. The restroom was also clean, which is always appreciated. My only real criticism is the sweet and sour pork. The batter itself was crispy and well executed, but too many of the pieces were mostly breading wrapped around bone with very little meat. It was the one dish I probably wouldn't order again. Even with that one miss, everything else was strong enough that we left very satisfied.

The beef chow mein was good-- while it was lacking some wok hay, the noodles were fried to perfection. Flavor was lacking as well. The beef brisket was tender and the flavor was there but it was slightly tangy/sour-- on the border of doing bad? I've never had this dish taste sour. The typhoon ribs were filled with fried garlic and the ribs came out hot and crispy! I recommend this dish if you like salt and pepper shrimp/chicken-- this is a fun alrernative Service was better than the avg Chinese restaurant. We were 1/3 parties so I'm not sure if it changes when it gets busy. There's plenty of parking.

They're definitely on the pricier side, but one thing that has always set Jazz Cat apart is their huge selection of soup bases. They probably have more options than any other hot pot chain I've been to. My personal favorite is the Seafood Essence -- it's flavorful without being too overpowering and has always been my go-to. One thing I noticed is that the soup base used to come with an egg, but now you have to pay extra for it, which was a little disappointing. The golden fish balls are a must-order. They're SO good! The flavor on the outside is delicious, and the roe filling inside is super flavorful and adds a nice pop of texture. The noodles they provide are also really good -- super chewy and bouncy -- although I wish they gave you more because the portion feels a bit small. They also have a pretty extensive selection of sauces, so there are plenty of ways to customize your meal. Overall, Jazz Cat has always been a nostalgic hot pot spot for me, and I'm glad I got to come back one last time before they close. Definitely bittersweet seeing a longtime favorite go, but at least I got one final bowl of Seafood Essence soup!

We finally decided to try Jazz Cat Cafe after always seeing it and talking about trying it, and…read moreoverall it was pretty disappointing. The service itself honestly wasn't bad at all. Since it was our first time there, we asked the waitress for suggestions on what to order and even how everything worked, and she was nice and helpful throughout the visit. One thing that already started the experience off confusing was that we were only given the regular menu with the QR code. Even though the all-you-can-eat option is advertised right at the front, nobody mentioned it to us at all. We only found out because we asked about it ourselves, and then suddenly they brought out a completely separate menu for the AYCE option. After trying it, I definitely don't think it was worth $40 per person. Another frustrating part was how ordering worked. There were three of us doing AYCE, and we asked for three different meats thinking we'd each try different items. Instead, they brought out three full orders of every single meat we mentioned without clarifying first. That immediately created pressure to finish everything because with AYCE you can get charged extra for leftovers. I really think they should ask customers if they mean one order of each item for the table or multiples of every item before bringing that much food out, especially for first-time customers. We tried the chicken, premium angus beef, and lamb. The chicken honestly had almost no flavor at all and felt pointless to even eat. The premium angus beef was decent, and the lamb was probably the best out of the three, but overall everything was still very bland. I don't eat pork, so we went with one of the vegetarian water-based broths since most of the others are pork based, and unfortunately that broth also tasted extremely plain. The sauces also didn't help much. Most of them had a really strong peanut flavor, and only one of the sauces was even decent, but it was still pretty bland overall. I honestly don't even know what any of them were because they just brought out multiple sauces without really explaining them to us. We even asked what we could add to spice things up and were given chili sauce, but somehow it still barely made a difference. I really wanted to like this place too because the food honestly looked great when it came out, but the flavor just didn't match the presentation at all. Their soda machine was also down during our visit, so there were no sodas available. On top of that, the table we were seated at felt really cramped and pushed right against the wall, which made eating uncomfortable. The restroom was another issue. When I went in, it was dirty enough that I had to clean up after someone else just to use it. The only real positive was that the all-you-can-eat option definitely filled us up, so we at least didn't leave hungry. I just wish the food had more flavor and spice because based on the pictures and the way people talk about this place, I expected a lot better.
