Just by looking at the lunch menu, you probably should come here. You really don't get the prices of $23 for lunch ayce anymore. The deal was too hard to pass up since most kbbq places are around $35+ for sure. I recommend coming here on opening time to avoid the lunch rush. A lot of the stuff is self serve, like a buffet style, such as fish cakes, rice paper, fried rice, korean noodles, sauces, and other marinated meats. However, I would just ask the server for the brisket and beef belly since those tasted a lot better. For the value, this place was great. The grill was somewhat lackluster since it kept causing us to change grills and I just wish that the service can be a little better. The servers were a little slow to respond to the button. I just wish there were more servers around, but I guess that's how they keep the prices low. I thought this would be like a hole in a wall spot but overall, this place was well kept. We had a great time at Gui Gui 9292. This spot is such a reliable and solid spot for good quality KBBQ! My wife and I came by a week ago around 8PM and it wasn't too busy on a weekday night. The parking lot has many spots. The interior is set up nicely. There's a so many tables and plenty of booths. The TVs were playing the Dodgers that night and we were seated fast. They have different tier options on their menu. Menu A, B or C. All of them are competitive to other spots. We opted for the C menu which was $29.99. The staff explained they have a self serve area for some of the Bachan and most of the pork protein options are self serve. The staff and particularly our server was awesome he checked in on us and even brought some banchan to the table when it needed to be refilled. The restaurant uses the buzzer system if you need anything from the wait staff. Our go to options are always the beef belly and brisket. The portion and marbling were good on each of them. Their steam egg was delicious and that tofu soup was spicy! Just the way I like it lol. The self serve aspect is fine with me on the certain banchan and other sauces. The overall ambiance and service was great. We definitely are adding Gui Gui 9292 as a dependable KBBQ option to our list. Especially since this part of Rowland Heights has so many to choose from. Came back again! It was Sunday and for lunch we wanted something meaty but not too expensive so I remembered this place had a special menu until 4pm for $20, now it's $22.99 and much has changed. We got to choose where to sit and we chose the booth again. They had plenty of seating when we came in and the place doesn't seem any different from last time. The window walls can be hard to see since the sun sets and the rays can burn your eyes! The first order we asked was brisket be beef belly while we got up to grab the rest. Good foods were the fish cake (peppery!), marinated pork belly, bulgogi, beef belly slices, corn cheese, radish wraps, miso soup, and marinated pork steak. The ones we could've gone without was the regular pork belly (tough), pumpkin (hard to chew), and brisket (lean and chewy). The available appetizers were limited as well so we focused on meat more!! Highly recommend waiting inside if you put your name on the waitlist. After 30 minutes of waiting when it said only 8-10 minutes, we went in to check and noticed people who barely came that was only about to put there name on the iPad yelp waitlist was seated almost immediately before us. A bit of shock cause we had already waited so long and wasn't far from the door outside. We hailed a waiter to check in on us and THEN they sat us. Just FYI, they're perhaps not on top of their waitlist system so I would just make it apparent your group is there and wait inside or right at the door. Gui Gui 9292 is such a cute play on words (Gui = 92 = grill)... definitely had to stop by and try this for a friend's birthday! We had their B menu; can you blame us for the kalbi temptations? We also had two sojus to complete the meal. For starters, what distinguishes Gui Gui from other spots is that some of the sides can be refilled on your own, including sauces. Some meats (esp pork) and appetizers (egg rolls, fries, radish paper, rice paper, etc.) are also self-service. While this streamlines the dining experience, I've also noticed slower service and some difficulty in getting some orders. (Had to repeat for re-ordering panchan sides and steamed egg.) The meat was decent quality. While I didn't like the brisket as much, I highly recommend their LA galbi and beef belly, those were definitely a hit for me. The steamed egg, though, was definitely way too salty and unenjoyable.
