Squash ravioli, Caesar salad, pork chop

We have been eyeing 9 Elm for many years now, and finally made it there for dinner! I am so glad that we did, and will be making it a regular stop moving forward. This cozy bistro in Danvers has the perfect relaxed ambiance - it feels super welcoming and makes you want to stay a while! I was so impressed with the high-quality service, and their food was outstanding! I was a bit concerned by the lack of vegetarian options on the menu but was able to put together a dinner by combining a salad and appetizer (both were SO good). I would love to see a vegetarian-friendly entree on the menu in the future! I can't wait to come back soon! This is a must-stop if you are in the Danvers area!

My favorite dinner spot! Definitely make a reservation. The staff is kind, friendly and provides helpful recommendations. The food is fresh and delicious. The drinks are great. The restaurant is clean and beautiful!

Very good experience. Food was good. Expanded in size since we first went so they can accommodate more clients.

The staff are friendly and the servers knowledgeable and efficient. The hostess had trouble finding our reservation (my companion was already seated) but it seemed to be quite busy that Friday night. The restaurant consists of quite a few separate rooms and we were seated in one that was not too crowded. (I walked through the bar on my way in and that was hopping.) I had a glass of sauvignon blanc and after studying the menu and consulting our server my companion and I both went for a burger. There was no problem with my swapping out the french fries for onion rings (points there!). The burgers were done exactly to our liking (mine mediume rare, hers medium well). I should have turned down dessert, I was that full, but my companion was willing so we went for it. There was a good selection of typical New England desserts and we finally settled on a blueberry crisp topped with vanilla ice cream which was good but not great (not sure I can put my finger on why, so it may be that I was too full to enjoy it). There is a parking lot although it is not paved so was not fun walking through at the end of a day when it clearly had rained. It also could use some lighting. This is a wonderful restaurant suitable for a special occasion or an ordinary night out. I will definitely be back.

They should've offered us another room but they didn't. My meal the encrusted tuna was very good, my granddaughter's Ipswich clams were a bit chewy, and the special Pork Marsala was inedible as the pork was like shoe leather. Our waitress gave my husband clam chowder instead..She was sincerely trying..The Hart House is pricey but they have lost our business due to lack of customer appreciation and quality of food served.. feel badly about that.

We ordered a few things to split and went off of what we saw at other tables. So many people had the pizzas so we had to give it a go. The French onion soup was fantastic and rich. The Ceaser salad was good, and not too intense but it was garlicky and had homemade hand ripped croutons. We were starving so we ordered the Brussels sprouts on a whim and it was incredible! The umami flavor and sou sauce ginger aioli with the pickled onions was so unexpected we almost ordered one to go. Lastly was the pizza, the dough is great and sadly we didn't get to try their red sauce but the pizza was excellent. They have a huge beer selection and we loved seeing their on tap selection. Definitely recommend getting a reservation since they never had empty tables but there wasn't a line out the door. There are two sides to the restaurant and the bar is big and well staffed. We waited about 15 minutes to get water or see any one at our table but that's because we came at 6:30 pm on a Saturday and they were absolutely busy. Once we saw our waitress and got our order in it was quick and smooth sailing. Highly recommend grabbing a seat at the high tops and enjoying your time.

Tried Sala Restobar in Beverly and overall it was a pretty underwhelming experience…read more We started with drinks -- I ordered a piña colada expecting it to be blended, but it came unblended. Nothing on the menu or from the server mentioned that, which was disappointing right away. When I told the server I didn't like it and wanted something else, he literally tilted his head and said, "ummm what do I tell the bartender?" That honestly rubbed me the wrong way -- just felt unprofessional and awkward. Jenny got a tequila cosmo, which was fine, nothing special. Food-wise, everything was just average. The bao buns were overcooked and the bun fell apart, though the flavor was decent. The pineapple fried rice was probably the best thing we had, but even that was just okay. We also had dumplings -- Jenny liked them, but I thought they were just alright. Dessert was the biggest miss. The blueberry cobbler was not good at all -- maybe a 3/10 at best. One thing that really didn't sit right was when we asked to split the tasting menu and were told no. That doesn't make much sense -- if people want to share, especially for a tasting menu, it should be allowed. Overall, nothing stood out in a good way, and between the service and the food, solid ambiance , it just wasn't a great experience.

Portions were larger than expected, and each dish was very shareable, so you can easily try eight things instead of four if you plan it right. They also have live jazz music -- every Thursday from 7-10pm, and on Friday and select Saturday nights from 8-11pm. If you want a clear view of the musicians, try to sit on the right side (opposite the entrance), though the middle works too. It's a fairly small space, so most tables can see, and all tables can hear. Overall, it's a fun spot -- good food, a relaxed vibe, and the live music (when available) adds a nice touch. If you're looking for something new to try when in the Beverly / Salem area, or a good date-night venue, I'd check out Sala.

I loved the vibe and interior of The Tavern - it was spooky and old timey. You could see and feel the history of this hotel and it was awesome to experience. The interior is warm and welcoming with wood accents. Seated in a booth in the bar area we settled in and ordered some drinks. I got my usual tequila soda, my husband wanted a chocolate martini, and my sister in law decided on a French martini, something that my husband likes to get and she decided to try. The drinks were very good! The entrees we chose were the baby back ribs, a "classic burger", and the chicken Marsala. Everything we tried was delicious! The ribs were a very large portion and cooked to fall-off-the-bone perfection. My burger was very tasty and came with the biggest onion rings ever. So good! The chicken Marsala was as good as any ever eaten in any "Little Italy" . The server was very prompt and efficient. After we ate, I indulged in a tequila cosmo that Marissa made for me because Sally was busy with another customer. That's what I mean-everyone just helped each other out without complaining, and as we were leaving, Rich thanked us and said, "Hope to see you again." Honestly, I wish more restaurants were like this. Clean, cozy, and courteous, serving an array of tasty dishes at a fair price. Michael said, "You get a good bang for your buck, here!"
