We just got takeout from here last night and absolutely loved it! You know food is good when it can hold well via takeout boxes! We got the chicken pita, gyro pita, 3 dip app, and Greek village salad. Plenty of food so we could have leftovers! Both pitas were phenomenal! The 3 dip appetizer came with cucumber, tomato, and 4 pieces of pita. We do wish it came with more pita because it was that good! Highly recommend!

Cute spot! Came here Friday night around 8:30, it was pretty empty, was able to sit wherever! Staff were very nice, very friendly. Service was good! To start I had a pomegranate martini. This was ok. Tasted more like juice. We got the calamari for an app. This as good, but could have been fried a little longer. For my main I got the mixed grill. It had shrimp, calamari, and octopus. This was good, except everything was a little bit too charred leaving a strange after taste.

Did the trick. Was looking for Greek food in Greek town and it was a cute bar/casual vibe on a Sunday afternoon. The service was great, the food was not bad. The lemony avgolemono soup was creamy and warming on a chilly day. I liked that it came with bread.

Amazing wine deal - $25 for delicious Greek wine! So we naturally stopped in for dinner hoping to sit on the cute patio but the weather wasn't so great. The interior is more of a dive bar feel. We got some lamb skewers on special to start. The octopus and complementary bread was also a tasty start to the meal. We got the pork shoulder entree with Greek fries and salad. Everything was of great quality and flavorful!

What a lovely find in Greek town! Quite different from our usual, and everything delicious. Zucchini cakes (like potato cakes) with tzatziki-delightful. Spicy calamari is INCREDIBLE!!! Pork belly gyro was delicious but could use more meat & tomatoes. And the DESSERTS!!!! Bougatsa was yummy; the custard was firm (not gooey & overwhelming like the stuff in a donut,) and it wasn't overly sweet. The baklava cheesecake is the stuff of dreams!!! Super creamy with lots of delectable baklava chunks on top. I would come back just for that. Incredible. Only complaint was the too-loud dance music in the dining room; distracting and more fit for a bar. Wrong vibe for the room, way too much base to enjoy delicious food by. Will definitely be back and they apparently do takeout really well also.

What a cool place and great food. We got there early and were greeted with a smile and friendly help from behind the bar. We were hoping for an authentic Greek experience and when we heard some of the men at the bar speaking Greek, we knew we found it. There is graffiti art all around the place that looks amazing. We ordered octopus and the three spreads for a starter and honestly it was enough but we wanted more. Chicken Schwarna with greek fries and an authentic Greek salad where yummy. We ordered Bougatsa for dessert a lovely Philo dough custard filled dessert enough for two or four. Great music, great service, great food, great experience.

Greektown of course has a lot of Greek restaurants, and this is one of the most enduring ones with a history of food and fun. It's a local family run business that even though it can get loud and crazy, it still has a quaintness to it. 9 Muses is more like a bar but still a restaurant. Always has some ethnic music blasting. The prices aren't bad for around here. A lot of choices for Greek are around here but this is not only among the best food, but also it's pretty affordable. I picked it for a date because it was cheaper then the other Greek places across the street. There's no valet parking here though. Good specials on drinks and food. It was $5 for a Hillas. This is one of the best Greek beers, and there's also imported wine if you're more into that. As for the food, vegetarian options are lacking but they have a few. We got the Grilled Vegetables Appetizer to share. It's $9 for quite a bit. This was a colorful plate of vegetables tossed in olive oil. Good flavors even though it was just vegetables, but it was better than it looked. There was eggplant, squash, yellow peppers, and zucchini. On the rest of the menu, there's meaty dishes like chicken kabobs and octopus. There were a few diners there who ordered these, which are delicacies in Greek restaurants. Basically it's a great place for authentic Greek. It can have more of a club atmosphere with the loud music. The atmosphere isn't for everyone, but it gives the place some personality since there's no TVs or anything to watch.

Part of me wishes that we got the chance to sit down inside, but maybe that will be the excuse to come visit another time. The Blueberry Clafoutis was my favorite dish. The blueberries were sweet, and it was like eating a blueberry crepe/pancake. The sweetness level was not overpowering, which was what made this dish so enjoyable. The "Bhel" Hummus and Spicy Whipped Feta were both very tasty. I loved the fruitiness of the "Bhel" Hummus and loved how the Spicy Whipped Feta had its pomegranate bits. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We had an 8 PM reservation, but since we were in the area early, Chris B. kindly accommodated us for an earlier seating. We settled on the rooftop deck, which set the mood with a vibrant, buzzy vibe. The service was outstanding throughout. Our waiter greeted us promptly, with a trainee at the table. (My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. It did not disappoint! - Pan Seared Halibut: A perfectly seared, delicate fillet, moist and flaky that highlighted the fish's clean, buttery profile. And from the cocktail menu, the Aloe? It's Me. It has a kick to it. Loved it too. Everything was excellent--the food was inventive and delicious, the service was great and the rooftop ambiance added a memorable layer to the evening. No dish was too heavy with oils or grease or fats which left us feeling full and satisfied without the groggy food coma. Flavors sing Mediterranean, and truly can't pick a wrong item. If I had to make a recommendation, the mushroom hummus for vegetarians is devine!! For the beef lovers out there, I've been recommended the short rib hummus countless times and I'm certain it would hit the spot. Unfortunately not the best Mediterranean food I've had in town, but definitely a can't miss place when making your restaurant hit list. The ambiance is also elegant and fit for an upscale Mediterranean meal. The indoor section is beautiful but I hear outdoor section is just as great of an experience. Again, can't go wrong on where you choose to make your reservation. The service is where the restaurant falls a bit short. They get incredibly busy and as a result it took over an hour to receive our meal. Was it worth the wait? Definitely, but wish the service could have been a bit more attentive also. Rating: 4/5

I was really excited about the limited menu because I wanted the shredded lamb shoulder. Our reservation was at 5:30... About as early as you can get for dinner and yet they were already sold out of the special so that was really disappointing that they would be so unprepared for one of the most popular dinner date holidays of the year... Alternatively, we went with a bunch of appetizers and split two entrées. Somewhere delicious somewhere very mid and somewhere a let down. Here's the breakdown: - Fried zucchini chips 5/5 - one of my favs in the city - Octopus 2/5 - one of my least favs in the city... it lacked flavor, was a small portion for the price and had a gooey string that grossed us both out - Fish spread that started with an M... haha 5/5 - I can't remember the name, but this was delicious! It was definitely pricey for the portion though especially because it didn't include pita... We had to pay an additional seven dollars for two pieces of pita, which was ridiculous - Oysters - 4/5 - husband enjoyed - Katifi cheese pie 4/5 - very tasty! Sweet and pricey but worth it - On special - fried fish- 2/5 - the waitress described these as small bite-size fish, but that is not how they came out and instead, it was really difficult to debone them and you hardly got any meat out of it. The flavor wasn't bad, but the experience was disappointing. I will say that they comped these after our feedback. - Gyros - 2.5/5 - it's not that these were bad per se... But I've had way better in the city to include fast, casual restaurants, and the price for the portion was pretty ridiculous again. Hardly any accoutrements. - Rockfish with pistachio brown butter - 5/5 - I believe this fish was on special and she described it as being a sweeter fish. They did come to the table and cut it for you so it was a lot easier to eat. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor. I also liked that you could choose your own dressing because the brown butter pistachio was delicious. - baklava froyo 3/5 - i'll bump this up to three because my husband liked it more than I did, but I was very disappointed by this dessert. The Greek yogurt was sour as to be expected, but instead of having actual baklava or pistachio flavor to balance it out, it basically just tasted like they dumped simple syrup on it and it was like a sour ice cream with just pure sugar drizzle... It really didn't come together for me. Overall, the service was really good and our waiter was very sweet. Also, our wine was delicious and the zucchini chips and fish spread were good, so maybe we would come for appetizers and drinks, but I definitely wouldn't return for a Greek dinner with the other options we have in the city.

I opted for the chicken kalamata dinner for the main event, which came with more french bread and a salad. The salad came out first, and it was pretty simple with minimal dressing. I wished there had been more variety in produce and something besides iceberg lettuce for greens. I'd recommend getting some feta on the side to add some flavor. The za'atar seasoned french fries underneath were extra crispy and perfectly soaked up the extra sauce from the chicken. Overall, it's what I'd consider a "true Chicago kickback spot"z: No frills, but worthy.
