We visited the drive through on a Sunday evening with only two other cars in the parking lot. We didn't wait very long for food which I was a bit nervous about according to a few reviews. But everything was out in a timely manner, (I rather not have McD's speed Mexican food)! I ordered kid meals- Tacos & Chicken nuggets and an order of taquitos. The meals were filling, beef was seasoned well and taquitos delicious but not worth what they charge. From the outside it seemed like a clean establishment. I was looking for authentic tacos in Big Bear, and this place hit the spot. Many places can be overpriced because of the tourist area, but they had the perfect fit for the family. From burritos to tacos to hamburgers to tamales and menudo (while supplied last ) ! The salsa was also fire, I'm not so good with spicy salsa, but this one was worth the burn! Lol, parking is ample, and there's plenty of seating, so bring the Familia! The noise level is average, of course with everyone ordering , driving thru, and the crunching of tortillas chips. The noise is average , so I hope you're in for the chit chat ! Staff is so friendly, and they don't push anything on you. They're very honest about their food, and they're willing to ask the 21 questions you may have. I'd you're thirsty, they have fountain drinks and the classic jarritos and Mexican soda ! My fiance and I are big burrito fans, so we had to stop at 909 Taqueria on our way out of Big Bear a couple weekends ago. We went through the drive-thru and we both ordered carne asada burritos. The burritos were simply but really good and we LOVED the spicy salsa! It was not only spicy but had a really good flavor to it that paired perfectly with the burrito. We parked here for lunch before heading up to Big Bear Mountain for a day of skiing with the kids. This place doesnt look like much from the outside, but they serve an excellent taco plate, customized burritos and even had fries for the little ones. The service was prompt and friendly. I dont mind paying 16$ for a chicken burrito when it's good. But this burrito is half the size of la paws Mexican food and a 3rd of the size of cocina de Mexico resteraunt. Both these resteraunts cost less for better quality burrito. My burrito from 909 taquera was 80% rice with some dried chicken terrible it was tastless and bland, and the only redeming quality was the green salsa and that could not save this disater of a burrito , bland way overloaded with rice , were the cheese? as i didn't taste it. will not be going back as there are other Mexican resteraunts that I stated above that have lower prices, better portions, and use better quality food. I went through the drive through and waited almost 20 minutes with only 2 cars in front of me. When I got my food, half of it spilled in the bag because the styrofoam plate was warped. My food was a total mess. I got the 3 taco plate and only received two tacos. The pastor was flavorless, and the rest of the food was not the greatest. The rice and beans were so plain. We were in a rush to get something quick but wanted to support the locals, didn't want go through a drive-thru chain so we decided to try this place. I ordered 2 fish tacos and the gentleman had trouble hearing me on the speaker. I repeated several times and he said carne asada tacos when he reviewed my order. I said no, and repeated myself about the fish tacos and he repeated it correctly. After waiting in the drive- thru line for a long time (there was only one car in front of us) we got our order and drove off. I quickly learned that they in fact gave me 2 carne asada tacos! We drove back and I went into the restaurant to fix the issue. They didn't seem apologetic, just took the carne asada tacos and put in the new order, which took FOREVER! Mind you we were in a hurry so I'm pretty annoyed by this time but respectful and just waited patiently. I finally get my tacos and THIS is what I get! I don't even know what kind of fish this is but it tasted pretty much just like burnt batter! It looked disgusting inside and my husband just laughed at my meal. The tortillas weren't even impressive, tasted and looked like store bought from your local grocery store. They had no real taste so o was only eating one tortilla per taco instead of the two given. There was No sauce- nothing, no flavor! Lettuce and tomatoes were fresh but that's as good as it got. I don't even know for what that fish I'm holding but it'd from the other taco that I couldn't bring myself to finish. My husband got a torta and rated it a 6 out of 10. It's pricey for fast food so be prepared for that. Tacos are small but the meat was good. I got the carnitas & Al pastor. 3.5 stars. Good food, friendly service and didn't take long (despite the note on the drive through - we are not FAST food!) We tried chicken taquitos, chicken street tacos and carne asada nachos. Best item: chicken taquitos. Crispy, crunchy and good chicken filling with sour cream, salsa and guac on the side. 4/5 stars Second best item: street tacos. Basic chopped chicken, cilantro and onions (packed in foil separately for personal distribution on each taco). Chicken was a little dry, but salsa helped a lot! 3.5/5 stars Least favorite item: Carne Asada Nachos. Not a lot of topping, a lot of chips. I noticed this new taco hut that wasn't hear in our last visit. A big plus was the drive-thru. The menu was a little clustered. I knew what I wanted so I ordered 4 tacos just meat and 2 tacos with everything. the tacos only include cilantro and onions. You get the salsa on the side. The tacos were decent. the meat had a good seasoning. Generous portions of meat. Service: this was definitely the biggest reason for a three star. The service wasn't only bland, it was border line bothersome. I wonder if maybe they know the locals and tourist could be a bit frustrating deal with. We were in town for the weekend because of Spartan Race, and my wife was really hungry (so was I). After a half marathon on mountains, it was imperative that we found food. So we stumbled on 909, and MAN. Talk about family owned and operated. The minute we walked in, everyone was waiting in line for some food. I guess we would see where this would leave us. The Boss (my wife) typically eats birria tacos, so trying something that doesn't need much fame and glory really had us thinking if it would be good or not. We waited for the tacos for about ten minutes (this is how you know they'll be amazing and made with love). As soon as they came out, they were fresh from the tortillas all the way to the meat. Fresh cut cilantro, fresh cut onions and our meats of choice. The tortillas you can tell were made in house and that day. This is what a taqueria should be like. To the family, we thank you! These were some of the best tacos we have eaten (and we eat a lot of tacos). Hopefully before we leave Big Bear, we can eat there one more time. And to those who pass by and don't bother to give them a try, shame on you. Taco Bell sucks. read more

Having grown up in the IE - I had to eat here. Dined in with husband and 3 kids. Inside was a bit messy and seating was worn down. Menus were a mess - super tiny print and hard to read. Food was their strong point - large portions and tasty. I had the menudo which I loved because it had no hominy! (yay!!! I hate hominy - I'm Mexican so don't @ me.) Husband had huge California burrito with carne asada. Kids had tacos - carnitas and carne asada. Staff was friendly but kind of slow. All in all a nice authentic taste of Mexican food in Big Bear. read more

The rice was mushy and mashed all together like a paste., I couldn't even eat half of it it was so gross I just trashed it. Don't waste your time or money here. I wouldn't have given it a star if that was an option. We thought it would be quicker to go here on a Saturday night - wrong- the post-it note on the cash register clearly states "we are not FAST food". We ordered 3 tacos (when packaged looked like the size of one, we had to check to make sure it was 3) and carne asada fries. We got three small even for street tacos tacos that consisted of flavorless chicken and lengua with cilantro thrown on 2 out of three and old onions you could smell a mile away. The fries were freezer burned and not even hot when "cooked". The lobby was so smoky we could hardly breathe - and it wasn't from having to wear the masks this time...
