I saw all the great reviews and called them at 9am. Just needed a simple lock change. Instead, i was connected to a switchboard and then eventually "your call may be recorded" after which i was connected to a live person. It is now 340pm and have not heard a word. I am not going to work with a company where my request is so basic, yet either not important enough or perhaps they are understaffed. Does anyone still know what the term "mom and pop":store means? I had called one of the well known Locksmith companies. And when I called for an update arrival time. I was told they would have the tech give me a call. The tech never called. I then called two other times. When it was past the agreed arrival time I called and canceled. I then searched on Yelp and found 911... The two gentlemen that arrived (1 in training.) Unprofessional, dishonest and rude. They will trick you to come to the job site and open your lock to give you an estimate. If you don't agree with the crazy charges, then they will leave the lock open on the floor and leave. Please be careful who you are hiring. I hired them for my parents house for a latch that they did not install properly two month ago and charged us $199. This time they came and asked for another $199 for fixing a latch that they didn't install correctly during the first visit. I refused to accept their service and they demanded $50 trip fee which was not disclosed before hand and they wanted to leave the lock open on the floor and leave. I hope you hear the concern of a regular citizen like yourself. Please do not look at the reviews that they probably created themselves. This business has not shown any professionalism and to me a job that takes 4 minutes does not worth $199. read more

I called to get an old door nob replaced. They were prompt, but would not give me a quote over the phone. I should have known. When the guy came to my door, he did not introduce himself or show an id, but he asked for mine. He gave me a quote of a new doorknob with a key match for $390. I had gotten two other quotes this morning for $125. To his credit, the guy called the boss and miraculously gave me a quote of $175. It was super sketchy. I know, right? A locksmith who gets a 5-star review? They *do* exist. So, as you may or may not know, locksmiths tend to have a really shady reputation. I hadn't known that until I listened to a whole podcast episode about it a few weeks ago. Lo and behold, I end up needing a locksmith to rekey my rental property.... When I called, I was loaded for bear. "I'm not paying any more money over the estimate," I asserted. Instead of a "take it or leave it" retort from the locksmith, I heard an understanding voice saying, "You probably had a bad experience with other locksmiths. I absolutely will not charge you extra." "Not even for the keys?" I countered. "Not even for the keys." The locksmith was there in an hour. So impressed with the way the whole transaction was handled, I decided to press my luck even further and have them replace the deadbolt to the balcony door.
