Great food, service and good vegetarian selection in a town where I thought I wouldn't find much to eat! We had the quinoa and black bean sliders which was incredibly yummy. Also did the hummus appetizer which came with warm pita bread and dipping veggies. Fiancé got a salmon flatbread which he said was okay, kinda salty and cheesy. Service was great, nice location. My family just visited for Sunday brunch. The service was beyond awful. The waiter dropped a drink, glass shattered everywhere and my husband ened up with cranberry juice spilled all over his shorts. The waiter apologized which was fine, but...some of my family ordered items off the menu and when he came and brought my daughter's pancakes he spilled chocolate syrup ALL OVER the table. He left a puddle of chocolate syrup dripping all over the table and never came to wipe it up. My daughter accidently put her jacket sleeve in it and now has chocolate sauce all over it. I'm tempted to have my husband's and daughter's shorts and jacket cleaned and send them the bill! As far as the food was concerned, some of us had the brunch and some of us ordered off the menu. My husband's steak and eggs came with burned/black potatoes underneath it. He never received the hashbrowns he ordered. The buffet items were cold and clearly had been sitting out a long time. I was scraping the bottom of the tin for some eggs- all that was left was crusty egg bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. When I asked for more they said they'd "work on it." I did not see fresh, warm food brought out to the buffet the entire time we were there which was over an hour. A manager never came over and apologized for this terrible service- never offered to comp drinks, a dessert, etc...for this awful experience. I don't know how many nice restaurants are in Brenham, but I recommend skipping this one. read more

We decided to come here for dinner before a show in Brenham. I have never been to Brenham, just wanted to come for a musician we love. We decided to go to this restaurant because it looked good and not too full. We were greatly disappointed. We waited 45 minutes for food which was mediocre. My brother-in-law never even got the second beer he ordered. Everything was very out of sorts and I was pretty upset. The 2 stars is for the food which again was mediocre. The seafood nachos had hard cheese on it and over cooked seafood. The two separate orders of crab sliders we had barely had any sauce on them so they were pretty dry. We had to get our checks at the same time our food came (again - food took 45 minutes). And on the way out about 75% of the restaurant was empty so I'm still confused why everything took so long. Not your typical fare. Menu probably appealing to 20-30 something crowd. I got a smoked salmon flatbread. It confirmed that I like my fish cooked - I did not particularly enjoy it. Husband and daughter got chicken ala southwestern style flatbread which they enjoyed. A lot of beef and pork items, minimal non-duck poultry. Very heavy on use of kale in the house salad - not my favorite but it was good. Good wine selection but most was sold per bottle vs glass. The selection per glass was poor. The ambiance is awesome - well decorated, contemporary yet cozy. Service and server were great - he was very cordial, explained the menu and checked on us with good frequency. Overall, the food was too avant-garde for my personal taste. But I'm old and haven't developed a taste for this genre of food. My only complaint was the high prices for tapas. Portions are overly large for tapas, making for a less attractive presentation. We struggled with this one a bit between a three or four star. I think the excellent service helped them to the four star mark. The beer selection is fair but typical. The wine menu has more options. The prices are fair for food and drinks. To eat we got the Tomatillo Flatbread and the Jamaican jerk wings. The flatbread, oh man, it was so good and cheesy and almost perfect. We say almost perfect because if they had seasoned the chicken, it would have taken this dish to the next level. Now the wings, first of all, I have to say, we are big wing fans. Anywhere we go, we try that particular restaurant's wings. These Jamaican jerk wings were not spicy at all. They were more tangy than anything. I would just say they were ok. Also, they did not look like wings....they were like drumstick lollipops....Odd. The decor of this place is just like what another reviewer mentioned: city feel but still has that small town touch. I wouldn't come back for their drink options but I would come back to give the rest of their food menu another chance. read more

Brenham is really stepping up their restaurant game. I'm from Austin and even I was impressed with this classy tapas bar. The food is excellent and not nearly as small in the small bite aspect as other tapa bars I have been to, meaning you will actually leave with a full stomach. I appreciated the thought that they obviously put into their wine selection as well. The pinot noir was excellent as well as the merlot I tried. Customer service is excellent, fast and still has that home-style feel you'd expect from a small town like Brenham. You'll feel like youre dining at a 5 star city restaurant but with a more relaxed and less noisy atmosphere and have a server that cares about what they are serving you. read more

I was in town for my semi-annual visit with family. When looking for a place for bite to eat I ran across this placed the main square which had recently opened for business. I was impressed with the menu and settled on a flatbread entree and one of the many craft beers they had to offer. It was perfect! The staff was attentive and made a point of referring to me by name which made me feel welcome. While looking over the dessert menu (from which I opted for the pumpkin spiced creme broulee -yum!), they pointed out the upcoming Sunday brunch menu. All of the choices looked like they were to die for. Over the next three days in town, I returned. Once for some down time while enjoying a pale ale and then for Sunday morning brunch with the family. The hostess (who I guess owned the restaurant) greeted me by name -Nice touch. The sweet potato hash with eggs and a tasty caramelized onion topping was all I hoped it would be. Well done. read more

We escaped from Hurricane Harvey by going to visit my parents in Somerville. Found this restaurant on Yelp and it was SUCH a great experience. We showed up pretty late (about 25 minutes before close) and they were nothing but gracious. Joseph was our server and he was GOLD! Helpful, knowledgeable, funny and personable. Food was PHENOMENAL. Definitely not what I expected in downtown Brennan. This place is nothing short of a Nugget of Goodness. Can't wait to come back and relax on their patio. read more

We found this place randomly following the good reviews on Yelp. It totally deserves them! The food is definitely good, original and well presented. It is not the typical American restaurant but something more sophisticated. We have been served by a young lady who was really kind and smiling. We stopped for Sunday brunch in between Houston and the Hill Country. Only the buffet was being offered, but there was an omelet station and an interesting array of hot dishes - French toast to enchiladas to meatloaf. It was all very good. The hubs ordered a spicy Bloody Mary - and it was a bit too spicy, even for him. I'm 70 years old and this is my first complaint of a restaurant. Today is Saturday 4/22/23. We had a party of 5 with reservations at 12 noon. We arrived 10 minutes early and sat outside. The restaurant was not busy. There were plenty of tables outside empty. An hour later we had not been served our meals. We were told that it was a computer error and there orders were not being communicated to the kitchen. But other people were being served. Even several people at different tables that arrived after us, and had the same waiter, were served and finished their meals before we had been given our meals. We finally told them to pack the meals to go because some us had to drive back to Houston and some to Austin. Finially at home I heated up my husband's overpriced hamburger and fries and 3 pm. He said tasted horrible, tough and soggy. My salad was ok. But we waisted $100 on a lunch. Our friends also waisted $100.00. The manager should have only charged us for our drinks and appetizers. read more

Wow has Brenham stepped it up. One of the best meals I've had in a while. The chef had a stacked menu. The wedge was epic, the 44 farms steak was cooked perfectly in not sure why she gave me a knife. The pumpkin sliders were out of this world. Fantastic beer selection. They are revamping the wine list which needed a little organization but they had some heavy hitters and I cannot wait to see what it is like in a few months, Good Texas grown wines maybe?! So happy to find this gem. We decided to venture into Brenham during our trip from Houston to Austin because we wanted something healthy to eat. We are so glad we did.
